Amongst our very busy summer weddings last year we saw the ‘Hopper’ family once again for an Outdoor Family Portrait Session. Over the years we have photographed the girls’ Weddings, taken family pictures at home as well as out and about, always having an enjoyable time and ending up with fantastic results! This time was no exception! For Mum’s Birthday the family had bought her a Voucher from us for a family shoot. Being rather a lot of them now, the decision was made to go to the local woods! Fine by us, we just needed the weather! It couldn’t have been better! With a varying age range this proved to be a good choice. Natural props and just being outside worked well. We were very pleased with the results and so were they!

One of the things we are proud of is our archive. So that when past clients such as Jackie and Dan ask for pictures from their 2003 Wivenhoe House wedding we can still access them. Note there is now no legal obligation for photographers to keep pictures over ONE year, as per a recent court ruling. How many photographers have gone out of business not just over that time but over the 36 years our business has been running….and yes we have never deliberately thrown out or destroyed our pictures. Sometimes it is the unseen service that makes us a little different.

Boreham House Wedding Photography – Nicola and Philip’s summer wedding Reception was held at the stunning Boreham House following their Church Ceremony at St Mary’s, Great Baddow. We arrived at Nicola and Philip’s house on a glorious morning. Nicky and her Bridesmaids were having their make up applied and finished outside on the patio in the garden, it was such a warm day. Whilst we got on with taking detail pictures of the dress and accessories upstairs we could keep an eye on what was happening from the bedroom window. The Flowergirls were the first to get dressed they had a few pictures taken in the garden.

The Bridesmaids were next to get ready as they were going to help Nicola get ready. Dressed, Nicola looked so elegant! After the pictures in the garden with her Mother, the Bridesmaids and Flowergirls, it was time for us to depart for St Mary’s Church, Great Baddow. Philip was at the Church when we got there and when all the Groomsmen arrived we took a few pictures. Many of the Wedding Guests arrived at the Church on the double decker bus. This always makes for some nice arrival pictures. Nicola arrived a little later and we took action pictures of them all as they walked unto the Church doorway. the Flowergrirls led the way into the Church. Nicola walked up the aisle holding a lighted candle in remembrance of her Father. Following the service, whilst waiting for everyone to exit the Church, Nicola and Philip had a few minutes to mingle. A few requested family pictures and Bridal Party were taken at the Church before the Guests led the path down to the Lych Gate for confetti. Nicola and Philip then left the Church for their Wedding Reception at Boreham House. Using the time wisely we took a couple of car pictures and a few pictures of them in front of Boreham House before the Guests arrived. The Drinks Reception was held on the back lawn. During the rest of the afternoon we took a few special pictures for Nicola and Philip and some relaxed Bridal Party pictures. The Speeches followed the Wedding Breakfast. Nicola’s Mum made a lovely Speech and the Speeches by the Groom and the Best Men were excellent! Some wonderful moments! Afterwards Nicola and Philip cut their Wedding Cake.The grounds around Boreham House are superb so in the time between the end of the Wedding Breakfast and the start of the evening Reception Guests took a walk around. A short time was spent with Nicola and Philip away from the Guests for a few pictures of them together in the soft evening light, a wonderful Sunset as well! On our return more of the Evening Guests had arrived. With the Band set up the evening celebrations began. After capturing some evening pictures of the celebrations it was time for us to disappear, not leave! Nicky and Phil as a surprise to their Guests were going to have Fireworks later on in the evening. We made ourselves scarce, appearing later on when the Guests were asked to go around to the front of Boreham House. What a magnificent display of fireworks! Really pleased with our pictures, after the display we said our ‘goodbyes” and left them to continue with the party.. It was lovely to see Bex and Pete again at Nicky and Phil’s Wedding, we photographed their Wedding at Spains Hall a few years ago. Bex did extremely well on the day helping Nicky despite it being a hot day and expecting! As for Nicky and Phil, congratulations on your Wedding, a wonderful day!

A lot of our Baby and Family Portraits comes from recommendation. Laura and David had been given one of our Vouchers for a Baby and Family Portrait after the birth of their daughter, Amber. Laura’s sister, Rebecca and husband James used us as their Wedding Photographer at Layer Marney Tower in 2014 , and subsequently we took pictures of their daughter, Chloe, in 2015. They in turn purchased a Portrait Voucher for Laura and David. We were delighted to take some pictures of Amber by herself and some of the three of them together.. Amber was no trouble at all, preferring to sleep than to stay awake!

Fennes Wedding Photographers – Rachel & Paul

Rachel and Paul wanted a Fennes Wedding. It was a beautiful day and when we arrived we went upstairs to the Bridal Room to meet with Rachel. Hair and Make-up was in the final stages, Rachel was chilled! Paul, his Best Man and Ushers were downstairs almost ready for their pictures. Once they were ready we took a few pictures of them before leaving them to meet the Wedding Guests. As the Guests arrived they had the option of sitting outside in the sunshine or sheltering from the rising temperature! Once Rachel and the girls were ready we took a few pictures of them and a few portraits of Rachel. The Guests were seated for the Outside Ceremony so Rachel, Emma, Rachel and Paul’s daughter, and the Bridesmaids came down the stairs into the Gold Room. After greeting Emma as she came into the room, Rachel’s Father then escorted his daughter out of the room and across the grass to where the Ceremony was going to take place.

Luke, Paul’s son, handed over the rings at the required moment, and after completing the formalities the Ceremony was finished. Rachel and Paul then enjoyed the Drinks Reception with their Guests in the grounds of Fennes. A few requested family group pictures were taken during this time together with a few pictures of Rachel and Paul on their own. It was nice to go under the trees for a break from the sun! Later the Guests went first into the Pavilion, followed by the entrance of Rachel, Paul, Emma and Luke. for the start of the Wedding Breakfast. The Speeches followed then everybody made their way out to the front of Fennes for the ‘everybody’ shot. By this time the sun had disappeared and it was cooler! We caught up on a few pictures that we didn’t do earlier in the day, making sure Rachel and Paul had their family pictures that they wanted. Rachel and Paul cut their Wedding Cake and took to the dance floor for their First Dance. A brilliant sunset concluded our coverage of Rachel and Paul’s Wedding. Well done to Rachel and Paul, a lovely Wedding Day, arranged within six weeks of booking Fennes!

What a glorious day to be Fennes Wedding Photographer for Stephanie and Paul’s Wedding at this stunning Venue! Starting at Fennes on the morning of the Wedding there was a hive of activity, excitement and people everywhere! With a large Bridal Party of adults and children it was lively! After saying ‘hello’, a quick chat and familiarising ourselves with where we would be taking pictures of the dresses, accessories, we got on with our work.

Sienna, Stephanie and Paul’s eldest daughter was very involved from the outset, helping and enjoying every moment. Ellie took a little while to do the same but then found it was good fun! Paul was in the Bridal Cottage finishing off his preparations so David went over there to meet him. When Paul,his Groomsmen and the Pageboys were ready there was time to take a few pictures before the ceremony. Meanwhile, Stephanie, the Bridesmaids and Flowergirls were getting dressed. Wow! Stephanie looked stunning as did the Bridesmaids and Flowergirls. The Pageboys looked so smart as well when they joined the girls. There was time to take a few pictures of them all before Stephanie headed downstairs. Stephanie’s Grandad was waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs and after greeting Stephanie they went in to to see the Registrars. Paul and the Wedding Guests were seated at the last moment outside for the Ceremony as it was a hot day, just in time for the Ceremony to begin! Lovely pictures as the children led the way from the Gold Room towards the Gazebo.Stephanie took her Grandad’s arm followed the Bridesmaids. The beautiful colour scheme that Stephanie and Paul had chosen for their Wedding enhanced the setting. Following the Ceremony and after Stephanie and Paul spent a little time with their Guests we got on with the requested family pictures. Moving over to the trees for the Bridal Party pictures for a little shade! During the afternoon we captured relaxed informal pictures of everyone and spent a few minutes with Stephanie and Paul around the grounds for their pictures. Just before the Wedding Breakfast Stephanie and Paul were covered in confetti. The Pavilion looked lovely for the Wedding Breakfast. We covered the Speeches which provided great amusement and reactions. Stephanie and Paul took the opportunity for some time in the grounds in the evening as did a number of the Guests. We took this opportunity of a few evening pictures of the two of them as well as taking relaxed informal pictures of their Guests. Evening Guests arrived and Stephanie and Paul spent some time with them before sunset. On our return Stephanie and Paul cut their Wedding Cake and had their First Dance. We left them a little later to continue their evening celebrations. A wonderful day!

It was nice to be back again taking photography at Vaulty Manor for the Wedding of Lyndsay and Terry. On arrival at Vaulty Manor we went to see the girls in the cottage. Hair and make up was being done and with lots of Bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride to do, it was a hive of activity! Saying that, there was no stress and all plans were going well. Terry and his Groomsmen were getting ready at Vaulty Manor as well, so it was nice to take a wander to the rooms they were using to capture a flavour of their preparation shots. Samuel, Lyndsay and Terry’s son was with his Dad getting dressed. Once they were all ready we took some pictures of them. Samuel who was a Pageboy then came over to where Lyndsay was. Samuel, who looked very smart was joined by the Flowergirls who looked lovely.

The girls all looked amazing and that was before they put their dresses on! There was enough time to take a few other pictures once they were all in their wedding attire. As the Guests made their way into Vaulty Manor for the Ceremony, Lyndsay met with the Registrars. Afterwards the Flowergirls led the way into the Ceremony, followed by the Bridesmaids, Pageboys and finally Lyndsay with her Father. After exchanging their vows and receiving their rings from Samuel they completed the ceremony. Lindsay and Terry stepped outside, followed by their Guests. Lindsay and Terry were then showered in confetti. During the Drinks Reception we got on with taking the requested group and family pictures. There was time for Lyndsay and Terry to enjoy the Drinks Reception and talk to their Guests whilst we took some candid Guest pictures. Lots of laughter later could be heard for the fun Bridal Party pictures. For Lyndsay and Terry’s ‘together’pictures we went off for a few minutes around the grounds of Vaulty Manor. On our return it was time for the Wedding Breakfast followed by the Speeches. Master of Ceremonies for Lyndsay and Joe’s Wedding Day was the Singer and Entertainer Joe Fryd It was nice to see Joe again and the Wedding party were in for a treat! Joe introduced the Speeches and afterwards everyone went outside whilst the barn was set up and Joe finished setting up his musical entertainment for the evening. There were garden games to keep people entertained and we took the advantage of a nice evening for a few extra pictures of Lyndsay and Terry. When all was ready, Lyndsay and Terry cut their Wedding Cake and then had their First Dance. A little while later Lyndsay and Terry briefly went with us into the field as the sun was setting. Carla and Jay came to see us again prior to their Wedding at Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon. After going through the details of their Wedding Day,we went out for a few of pictures. Carla and Jay were feeling a bit apprehensive as to what the pictures were going to turn out like but as you can see from the results they were fine! They had fun! This is what the pre-wedding session is all about, getting to know our clients so they are more relaxed on the wedding day.
