Layer Marney Wedding Fayre – We are looking forward to attending at Layer Marney Tower this Sunday 15 January for the Wedding Fayre. Come and visit this lovely Wedding Venue and meet with various suppliers to talk about your Wedding Day.
Sarah and Ian’s Engagement pictures were taken at Ipswich School. Meeting them there one evening worked well as it is the Venue where they are getting married. As usual with a new venue, we like to visit ahead of the wedding to familiarise ourselves with the area. The Engagement shoot was an ideal opportunity to look around and familiarise ourselves with this location before Sarah and Ian’s Wedding Day. It is so nice to work at different places and we are so looking forward to this one. Afterward taking the pictures we finalised the arrangements for their wedding. We came away buzzing!
Stephanie and Paul visited us one afternoon to up-date us on the details of their forthcoming Wedding at Fennes. It was an ideal opportunity to meet their children, Sienna and Evie, before the Wedding. We know from past experience that familiarising ourselves with younger children can make a big difference on the wedding day itself! It was a nice afternoon so we used our local River Walk to take a few pictures of them all and a few of Stephanie and Paul together. Stephanie and Paul are getting married at Fennes.
The Smeetham Hall Barn Wedding Fayre is, this Sunday 8th January, from 11am-3.30pm. It is very well organised by Sharon Donaldson of The Wedding Fayre and it is well worth a visit. David and I are looking forward to attending and exhibiting our Wedding Photography at this wonderful Wedding Venue. We will have new sample Albums of complete Weddings for you to view, so why not come and have a chat about your Wedding Day requirements. Tara and Tom asked us to be their Colchester Town Hall Photographer and afterwards at Green Island Gardens, Ardleigh, for their Summer Wedding. It was a beautiful day when we arrived at Tara’s Parents’ home for Tara’s preparation pictures. Tara was having her hair finished and the Bridesmaids were putting their sarees on Everything was going well. When Mum was ready, she helped Tara put on her Wedding Dress. The garden was the place for a few pictures, giving a lovely backdrop and shade. With a few portraits of Tara and a the pictures of the Bridesmaids and Family completed it was time for us to leave. Colchester Town Hall was where the Civil Ceremony was taking place. We left extra time for some known road closures and also holiday time traffic! turned out not to be a problem leaving us with sufficient time for Tom’s pictures with his Best Man and Ushers. We also managed a few Guest arrival pictures before they made their way up the stairs to the Moot Hall for the Ceremony.
Tara arrived, we used the few minutes for a couple of pictures before she saw the Registrars and went upstairs. With everybody seated Tara entered the impressive Moot Hall. 
After the formalities of the Ceremony, Tara and Tom went out of the room, paused on the stairs for a couple of pictures before heading downstairs. Tara and Tom then went outside into the brilliant sunshine and chatted a little while with their Guests, whilst the Chaffeur was opening the Champagne. Everybody then waved them off as they left the Town Hall for the Wedding Reception at Green Island Gardens. The Guests arrived, they made their way into the gardens for the Welcome Drinks and being entertained by a String Quartet. Tara and Tom arrived a while later. Whilst the Bridal Party were organising the confetti with the Guests, we took a few pictures of Tom and Tara. After being covered in confetti by their Guests, they then had time to socialise, whilst we took some informal pictures. We managed to find a nice area in the shade to do the requested family pictures, followed by Tara and Tom’s pictures around the grounds as the time was racing by! The Garden games proved to be a hit with the Guests during the rest of the afternoon and provided a few good reaction pictures. 
Beautiful backdrops and light! Evening Guests then started to arrive and after Tara and Tom spent a little time with them it was time for them all to move to the Marquee for the Wedding Breakfast. It was at this point Tara and Tom went to get changed into traditional Sri Lankan clothing. They looked stunning! We were able to take a few pictures as they had to make their way over to the Marquee. Before the start of the meal the Father of the Bride made his Speech and after the main course, Tom made his Speech. 
A beautiful night sky appeared and we were able to capture this before the desserts were served. Yuandi completed the Speeches later before the cake cutting. Tara and Tom then took to the Dance Floor for their First Dance. 
This was followed by a Bollywood Dance Workshop which was fun. A colourful, rewarding and fabulous day! Thank you Tara and Tom for asking us to be your Wedding Photographers.
Trish and Chris came to see us one afternoon before their Wedding at St Margaret’s Church, Downham, followed by a Reception at Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon. After having a chat about their Wedding Day and filling in the details we then went out to take a few pictures of them. The time spent with Trish and Chris is enough to put them at ease, find out a bit more about them and be very relaxed! Happy with the outcome and now looking forward to their Wedding Day.
‘Happy New Year’ to all our past and present clients. We have had a most successful year both in Weddings, Portraits and commercial and look forward to this continuing into 2017.
As with many businesses our response time may be a little slower than usual during the festive period.

It was nice to make a welcome return to the stunning Down Hall for Natasha and Ryan’s summer Wedding. Our day started early with our first trip of the day to Down Hall Country House Hotel, which is where Natasha was getting ready. On arrival Natasha was well on the way with her preparations, everything was running smoothly. This was a good thing as Natasha and Ryan’s Church Wedding was back in Witham at mid-day. Natasha’s Wedding Dress and Accessories were laid out ready to be photographed so we got on with doing these. The first of the Bridesmaids got dressed and then lent a helping hand, as did Mum, in dressing Natasha. With Natasha ready we took a few pictures of her in the room whilst the Bridesmaids finished off their preparations. We didn’t have to wait for long, which was great. We were then able to go out of the room onto the landing and stairs where there was more space and take a few pictures of all of them.
After a few pictures of Natasha we left to go to St Nicolas Church in Witham. Ryan was there when we arrived with his Best Man and Ushers. It was at this time a shower of rain made an appearance but thankfully not for long! It had dried up by the time Natasha arrived. With the Guests seated in the Church, Natasha took her Father’s arm and walked up the path to make her entrance. After the service, we quickly took a couple of pictures outside the Church, before the Guests lined the path for the confetti throwing.
It was then off to Down Hall for the Reception. We took a couple of pictures outside Down Hall as Natasha and Ryan arrived, Whilst the rest of the Guests were arriving we took them for a short walk around the grounds for their pictures. 
Natasha and Ryan then had time to socialise with their Guests before we got on with the family pictures and fun Bridal pictures, which were great. During this time the Guests were entertained by Natasha’s Uncle Gavin who is also a Magician. It was soon time for the Receiving Line prior to theWedding Breakfast. The Speeches followed before everyone came out of the room so it could be set up for the evening. It was a beautiful evening and the ‘golden hour’ beckoned. Once the room was ready, it was time for the cake cutting followed by Natasha and Ryan’s First Dance. Surprise! During their dance, the music changed, dancers emerged from the people watching and took to the dance floor! The Flashmob dance began! Natasha and Ryan’s Parents joined them as well! Brilliant! What a performance! 
Soon after this it was time for us to leave them to continue the celebrations. Congratulations to Natasha and Ryan on a lovely day! Well done to Natasha, your timings were impeccable! It was nice to work with Mark Greatbach again and for the first time Philip White Visuals.
