It was a nice morning when we met Jenna and Pete for their pre-wedding shoot in the late autumn last year. Jenna and Pete are getting married this year at The Fennes Estate, Bocking.
It was already a beautifully hot summer’s day when we arrived nice and early at Marks Hall Farmhouse at The Reid Rooms, Margaret Roding, and greeted Zoe, who was having the finishing touches applied to her hair and make-up. After a few detail pictures and when Zoe was dressed we moved into the lovely lounge to create her portrait pictures using beautiful soft light from the window.
Zoe and Matt’s sunflower colour scheme for their Wedding was fabulous, just right for their special day. On arrival at St James’ Church, High Wych, David went to see Matt who was in the pub opposite, whilst I photographed Guest arrivals. We took a few pictures of Matt and his Groomsmen outside the Church before Zoe arrived. After the service Zoe and Matt came out of the beautiful Church and headed towards the shade to greet their Guests and have some requested pictures taken.
Zoe and Matt left the Church through a shower of confetti for their journey to the Reid Rooms. A Drinks Reception awaited everybody in the courtyard at The Reid Rooms. With ample opportunities for lovely photographs and having the time to take them we achieved some wonderful images. Wedding Breakfast and Speeches followed and time allowed us to take Zoe and Matt for a short time around the grounds for some early evening together pictures, which turned out to be great fun, thank you Zoe and Matt!
Evening Guests arrived for the evening celebrations and after the First Dance we ended our day.
It was so nice and much appreciated to receive a ‘Thank You’ from Fiona (Mother of the Bride)
Dear David & Sandra
Thank you so much for the photo book – most unexpected and very kind of you – much appreciated. We are so thrilled with the Album – EVERYONE remarked how beautiful and so well displayed.
Again thanks a million for being so attentive and capturing such precious moments.
Best Wishes
Sinead and Ross were married at St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, followed by a Reception at the family home a few months ago.
It was a beautifully warm, bright, sunny day for Claire and James’ Wedding Day at Gosfield Hall. Claire and her Bridesmaids were getting ready in The Queens Apartments, which made for some lovely photographs, whilst James and his Best Man and Ushers were getting ready in The Kings RoomsApartments. Following the Civil Ceremony, Claire, James and their Guests went outside to enjoy the Drinks Reception, allowing us to capture the relaxed atmosphere of the day. A few requested family photographs were taken after a little while, followed by another break for everyone. With so many photographic opportunities provided at Gosfield Hall, we try to use a variety of them throughout the day. We took a short walk around Gosfield Hall with Claire and James for their Bridal Portraits before finishing with some fun Bridal Party and confetti pictures. Following the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches and some evening pictures of Claire and James we covered the First Dance and a few informal pictures before leaving them to continue the end of their special day.

It was a lovely day in February, for the Wedding of Natalie and Wayne at Parklands, Quendon Hall. Natalie was just having the final touches applied to her make-up, when we arrived, which worked well for us as we photographed this as well as the detail shots. As the Men were getting ready at Parklands as well, David went and captured the laughter there. Natalie then moved to one of the other rooms for her photographs where we captured some lovely images. Following the Civil Ceremony, Natalie, Wayne and their Guests enjoyed a Drinks Reception in the grounds of Parklands in the warm sunshine. A few family photographs were followed by a short break for the couple, then we took Natalie and Wayne for a short walk around the superb grounds of Parklands, for their pictures, where there are so many opportunities, without taking too much time. The Pavilion was the setting for Natalie and Wayne’s evening celebrations, and after taking some First Dance pictures we left them to finish enjoying their Wedding Day. It was nice to meet Richard of ‘Your Perfect Day’ Video and look forward to working with him again during the year. You can view the video trailer here

Well, it’s that time of the year again when we draw breath long enough to think about the fun, laughter and lovely people we have met during the year at our various Professional Photography events.
Weddings – our Weddings this year turned out to be mostly slightly closer to home and were constrained to Essex, Suffolk, Kent and Hertfordshire -2012 will involve longer distances!. Some great clients who we hope will stay in contact. Our new system of pre-planning albums caused a little confusion early on but now we are explaining it better it seems to be very popular with our couples.
Wedding & Portrait Photographers International, Las Vegas – David had the ‘chore’ of attending what is becoming a bi-annual event at the WPPI convention. A great chance to study for 3 days with Jim Garner who is one of the worlds top Wedding Photographers, together with networking with many other fine Photographers from around the world. Another ‘Accolade of Excellence’ in the International Print competition put the icing on the cake!
We also had a good year helping to organise events for our local photographers group on behalf of the MPA and BIPP. It was a great pleasure to join a number of members of our group on the Buxton workshop where we tried out some new ideas.
We could not review our year without congratulating our friend Kevin Pengelly who achieved his Fellowship Qualification in Wedding Photography. A fantastic achievement.
I guess we should award our ‘photograph of the year” but as some of our favourites are currently entered in competitions maybe we had better hold on that!
So Thank You everybody who helped us in 2011. We look forward to 2012 and meeting many old and new friends and clients.
Happy New Year!
It was a beautiful day when we arrived at Ann and Nigel’s house, where the girls were busily getting ready. After taking some pictures of Ann and the girls in the garden we left to go to St. Mary’s Church, Great Baddow, for the Church service. On arrival we took a few pictures of Nigel with his Groomsmen, before they took their places in the Church. After the Ceremony, Ann and Nigel greeted their Guests in between a few family group pictures being taken. The Guests mingled whilst we took Ann and Nigel for a short stroll around the Church grounds for a few Bride and Groom portraits. Ann and Nigel then walked the short distance from the Church to Russells Restaurant, where the Wedding Reception was being held. The timbered barn with its high ceiling provided us with some lovely shots. After the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches, we stayed for the First Dance and took a few evening pictures. This was our first visit to Russells Restaurant for a Wedding Reception and we would like to thank Robert for being friendly and helpful, which was very much appreciated.

Thank you for everyone attending the Wedding Fayre at Charter Hall, Colchester on Sunday. It was lovely to chat to some of you about your plans, sorry if you came to see us and we were not there, this was due to us photographing a Wedding that day. Thank you to Rachael and David for running the Stand and for packing up for us.
