  • Styles of Photography

Styles of Photography available in the wedding photography market:-

Standard – Lots of group pictures and straight forward often unflattering Bride & Groom pictures.

Classical – carefully arranged formal pictures making everyone look their best before the picture is taken. You and you guests may need patience.

Reportage – capture the action without interfering with the couples day (often now called ‘Documentary’ as Reportage sometimes has a poor reputation). When we see great examples of ‘Documentary’ wedding photography it is often because the couple have been coached before the day in what is expected!

Lifestyle – lots of Photoshop to mess up the colours and give the pictures a ‘modern’ look. Couples in natural (not always flattering) poses.

We like to think of our Wedding Photography as contemporary Story telling. We are happy to capture real action if it looks good but we are also happy to encourage ‘moments’ to happen! Family groups and Classical pictures are usually required but do not have to take the whole day and we work in a fairly informal way. By photographing our couples at some point during their Engagement they are generally more relaxed on the big day and understand how we would like them to stand to make them look their best. Why not contact us and see what a whole wedding looks like?

  • Wedding Photography for Julie & Paul at Westwood Park, Colchester

It was a bright crisp winter’s day when we arrived at Westwood Park, Colchester, for Julie and Paul’s Wedding.  Paul, his Best Man and Ushers stepped outside to have a few photographs taken, before seeing the Registrars and Julie arriving.  After taking a few pictures of Julie and her Bridesmaids, it was time for the Civil Ceremony.  This was held in the lovely Old Library and was followed by a photograph of everybody in front of Westwood Park.  With the minimum of fuss we did a few requested photographs of close family and the Bridal party outside as well, then left the Guests to enjoy the Drinks Reception in the warmth of the House.  Julie and Paul wanted a few pictures in the grounds of Westwood Park and so for a few minutes (it was rather cold!), we went for a short walk with the two of them, capturing some lovely images in the late afternoon sunshine .  Later, we returned to the Old Library with Julie and Paul for a few more pictures, before finishing our coverage. We were delighted to have been asked to photograph this Wedding, as Julie is a Professional Photographer herself!  Wedding Photo - Westwood Park, Colchester

  • Watermarks on Wedding Photographs

A great question from one of our prospective clients “Do we watermark the images on the disc?”.

Answer –  When we include a disc of images with your album they will be unmarked files for your archive.  Pictures will be the files as used at proof stage which in general they are ready to go!  We do put our logo and the reference number on the pictures we give out as a DVD proof show and for our online galleries.
