Maison Talbooth, Dedham – wedding photography for Karen & Ian
Maison Talbooth was the chosen Venue for the Wedding of Karen and Ian. We arrived early as there were the final preparations to capture and many assessories to photograph of which Karen had made many herself. The weather was hot so photographing Ian and his three Best Men happened outside as the guests arrived. Once Karen and the girls were ready there was just enough time to take a few pictures.
Immediately before the start of the Wedding Ceremony Ian saw Karen for a moment just before all the Guests. As there was a heavy shower as the Ceremony finished, Karen and Ian socialised with their Guests for a short time inside before it was dry enough to go outside for a couple of pictures and for the Guests to shower them in confetti. After moving to Le Talbooth Karen and Ian went for a boat ride up the river. Their return was greeted by their Guests and some of them then enjoyed a ride up stream as well. Whilst Karen and Ian enjoyed some more time with their guests we captured some natural expressions and managed a few words with Katie and Nigel, whose Wedding and family photographs we have taken in recent years. A heavy shower of rain just before the meal caused the group pictures to be delayed until after the Wedding Breakfast. The Speeches were superb, with Kellie’s (the Bridesmaid) having everybody in stitches! Once the family group pictures were taken, there was time for some fun shots and Bride and Groom portraits before everybody returned to Maison Talbooth.
Guests had a time to themselves and some enjoyed swimming in the outside heated pool before the evening celebrations later. Evening Guests arrived for a BBQ, cake cutting and dancing and our last photograph of a memorable day was of Karen and Ian’s return to the main part of the hotel where the celebrations continued into the night. -
Pre-Wedding Pictures
We met Karen and Ian at Maison Talbooth, Dedham, not long before their Wedding there for an up-date on their final details. Karen and Ian booked us for their Wedding Photography a while ago, whilst they were over from Holland where they live and were now finalising their arrangements for their big day.

Wedding Photography for Victoria & Michael – St Leonard's Church, Lexden & Westwood Park, Colchester
When we arrived at Victoria’s Parents’ house, preparations were in full swing, everything going well, lots of details and action for us to capture. Mum and Dad’s garden was spectacular and even though it was very hot with the sun shining, we all wanted to take some pictures in the wonderful setting.
With images captured, it was time for us to leave for St Leonard’s Church, Lexden. Michael, his Best Man and Ushers were greeting Guests when we arrived and in between arrivals we managed to get some pictures of them all. Not long afterwards, Victoria arrived at the Church with her Father and they made their way into the Church. Fortunately, we were able to photograph from the Balcony in this lovely Church, capturing some lovely images.
Some family group pictures were taken after the service, before going to Westwood Park. With many of the big group pictures being taken at the Church, Victoria and Michael had plenty of time to socialise at Westwood Park. Fun Bridal Party pictures happened during the afternoon as well as some Bride and Groom portraits around the beautiful grounds. With endless photographic opportunities, it was really nice that Victoria and Michael wanted to take advantage.
After the ‘Everybody’ picture by the Lake it was time for the Wedding Breakfast, followed by the Speeches. With timings working out well, and as the sun was going down, a few extra pictures were taken of Victoria and Michael.
Evening Guests arrived before the First Dance and not long afterwards we left them all to the celebrations. -
Wedding Photography for Karen & Gary – Prested Hall, Feering
It was a cloudy but dry start to Karen and Gary’s Wedding Day when we arrived at Prested Hall, Feering. Karen and her Bridesmaids were getting ready upstairs and after photographing some detail pictures and capturing preparations, some formal photographs of them all were taken. David took Gary and his Groomsmen for their pictures in the grounds before the Civil Ceremony. The Oak Room at Prested Hall was where the Civil Ceremony took place and this was followed by Karen and Gary greeting their Guests during the Drinks reception. With the weather not playing ball at this time, everybody socialised inside, waiting for the shower of rain to pass. The sun came out, making for some nice relaxed pictures outside and allowed us to take a leisurely stroll around Prested Hall for some pictures of Karen and Gary.
Following the Wedding Breakfast and coverage of the Speeches Karen and Gary took a few moments to enjoy an early evening stroll around the grounds which enabled us to captures some relaxed picures, finishing in a nice sunset shot.
Cake and First Dance followed with some pictures of their Evening Guests and a picture of Karen and Gary in the oak beamed main room, before the end of the day for us. -
Wedding Photography for Laura & Mark – West Mersea Church & Layer Marney Tower
It was a lovely day when we arrived at Laura’s family home for the bridal preparations. With lots going on there was plenty to photograph including pictures of the girls with the Camper Vans, before leaving to go to St Peter & St Paul’s Church,West Mersea. Following the Church Service, we took some requested family group pictures as well as a couple of pictures of Laura and Mark. Layer Marney Tower was was the venue chosen for the Reception by Laura and Mark and as always proved to be a good choice. Unbeknown to Mark, his Classic Ford Escort Rally car was at Layer Marney, a surprise by one of his brothers who had restored it for him!
A Drinks Reception was held in the grounds, whilst we created some relaxed bridal party pictures together with a few portraits of Laura and Mark around Layer Marney, including the Lake and Barn.
Speeches followed the Wedding Breakfast, before a couple of evening sunset pictures of Laura and Mark before their First Dance, which is where we took our leave.

Wedding Photography for Tina & Nelse at Layer Marney Tower, Layer De La Haye
It was an early start for us on a beautiful day, as Tina and Nelse were getting ready for their Wedding at The Angel Inn, Stoke by Nayland. Whilst Tina, and Kiera, their Daughter, who was the Flowergirl, were getting dressed, Nelse, their Son, Joshua, who was the Pageboy, Best Men and Ushers had some pictures taken in the inside The Angel Inn as well as in the garden.
The Layer Marney Weddding Bus arrived to take the Guests as well as Nelse to Layer Marney Tower for the Civil Ceremony. Tina left later in the Layer Marney Rolls Royce after a few pictures. Following the Ceremony in the Corsellis Room, Tina and Nelse went for a short drive whilst their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception. We took some candid Guests shots whilst waiting for the couple to return.
Later a few requested family photographs were taken infront of the Tower and in the grounds. The Guests enjoyed relaxing and socialising in the warm sunshine watching the fun bridal party pictures going on. We were able to steal Tina and Dave away for a short time for some pictures of the two of them by the Lake and in the Barn before the Wedding Breakfast. Speeches were before the BBQ and this was followed by a live band playing in the Courtyard, where Guests danced and socialised. Tina and Nelse were happy to have a couple of pictures of them in the evening before their First Dance in the Long Gallery.
A long relaxing enjoyable day was what Tina and Nelse had envisaged and it came true.
