  • Wedding Photography for Nina-Marie & Trevor at Parklands, Quendon Hall

We overlooked publishing this Wedding so we are making amends now.

It was an extremely hot day when Nina-Marie and Trevor got married in the beautiful Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus & St Josesph in Ware, Hertfordshire, in October 2011.  Our day started at Nina-Marie’s house for the final bridal preparations before leaving to go the Church.  After the service we  took a few pictures outside the Church before leaving to go to Parklands.  Everybody enjoyed relaxing and socialising in the superb grounds of Parklands during the Drinks reception, making for some lovely images. Following some family photographs we took Nina-Marie and Trevor for a short walk around Parklands for a few pictures of the two of them.  After covering the Speeches and taking some evening and First Dance pictures, we left everybody to enjoy the late evening celebrations.

  • Wedding Fayre at Layer Marney & Wedding Open Day at Fennes

Thank you to all Bride and Grooms who visited our Stands at the above yesterday.  Sorry we could not be there all day, we were photographing a Wedding.

  • Wedding Testimonial

It is always a pleasure to receive a ‘Thank You’ and we were overjoyed to receive this from Claire and Tim, who were married at The Fennes Estate in April 2011:-

    Dear David and Sandra

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to you both for all your help in producing a stunning wedding album.  I am so happy with how it turned out, you have captured our big day perfectly – I could not fault a single thing, (and I am very renowned for being ‘fussy!!)

I will never tire of showing our album off to family and friends and I will treasure it forever.

Throughout the whole process you were very patient with me and made everything very easy, the draft album plan was particularly helpful and clever.

On the day itself you managed to capture so many amazing shots, without Tim and I, or our guests, having to spend very long at all posing for photographs, which was perfect.

    Thank you!

    Love Claire ( & Tim)

Here is a plan of their album:-

  • Prested Hall Wedding Photography – Lucy and Nathan

    Prested Hall Wedding Photography

Lucy and Nathan were married at Prested Hall, Feering on a chilly but dry day in December.  Lucy’s final preparations were calmly taking place upstairs in Prested Hall  while the Guests started to arrive for the Wedding.  Nathan, his Best Man and Ushers greeted the Guests before we took them for a few photographs around Prested Hall. After capturing a few pictures of Lucy, she entered the Oak Room for the Wedding Ceremony.  Lucy and Nathan were congratulated by their Guests during the Drinks Reception as we took some informal pictures.  Preparing everybody for the Group Photograph outside, resulted in a lovely picture taken before people got cold.  A few family pictures were taken inside but Lucy and Nathan braved the cold for some beautiful pictures outside in the Gazebo and on the bridge.  It was well worth it!Prested Hall Wedding Photography

  • Wedding Fayre – Smeetham Hall Barn, Bulmer – Sunday 15th January, 2012

Our first Wedding Fayre that we will be attending this year is at Smeetham Hall Barn, Bulmer, Sudbury, this Sunday from 11am-4pm.  We look forward to meeting lots of Brides and Grooms discussing their Wedding plans.

  • Wedding Photography for Gemma & Marc at Gosfield Hall, Essex

We were delighted to be asked to photograph the Wedding of Gemma and Marc, albeit with added pressure as Gemma’s Uncle is an excellent Professional Photographer as well as being a very good friend of ours!  Gemma and Marc chose the beautiful Gosfield Hall for their Civil Ceremony and Reception.   Gemma’s getting ready pictures were taken in the lovely Rococco Suite whilst Marc’s pictures were taken outside.  Following the Ceremony we all made our way outside so we could take advantage of the wonderful weather.  Gemma and Marc were able to mingle with their Guests in between us arranging the requested family group pictures.  Just before the Wedding Breakfast we took the Bridal Party for some pictures which were relaxed and fun.  Keeping an eye on the sunset during the Wedding Breakfast proved to be worthwhile when we gave Gemma and Marc the nod they very quickly went outside.  Superb results!  First Dance and evening pictures, then later on fireworks made a memorable day.Wedding Photo - Gosfield Hall, Essex

  • Review of the Year 2011

Well, it’s that time of the year again when we draw breath long enough to think about the fun, laughter and lovely people we have met during the year at our various Professional Photography events.

Weddings – our Weddings this year turned out to be mostly slightly closer to home and were constrained to Essex, Suffolk, Kent and Hertfordshire -2012 will involve longer distances!.  Some great clients who we hope will stay in contact. Our new system of pre-planning albums caused a little confusion early on but now we are explaining it better it seems to be very popular with our couples.

Wedding & Portrait Photographers International, Las Vegas – David had the ‘chore’ of attending what is becoming a bi-annual event at the WPPI convention. A great chance to study for 3 days with Jim Garner who is one of the worlds top Wedding Photographers, together with networking with many other fine Photographers from around the world. Another ‘Accolade of Excellence’ in the International Print competition put the icing on the cake!

We also had a good year helping to organise events for our local photographers group on behalf of the MPA and BIPP. It was a great pleasure to join a number of members of our group on the Buxton workshop where we tried out some new ideas.

We could not review our year without congratulating our friend Kevin Pengelly who achieved his Fellowship Qualification in Wedding Photography. A fantastic achievement.

I guess we should award our ‘photograph of the year” but as some of our favourites are currently entered in competitions maybe we had better hold on that!

So Thank You everybody who helped us in 2011. We look forward to 2012 and meeting many old and new friends and clients.

    Happy New Year!

  • What no Blogs?!!!!

Our regular supply of blogs will return very soon and we’ll catch up with all those we are behind! It has been a very busy period in the run up to Christmas with Weddings, Babies, Family Portraits and Commercial jobs.  Thank you all for keeping us busy!!

  • Qualifications

Just had an interesting conversation about how there are so many photographers these days. In this particular case with somebody who had just had their boiler serviced by ‘somebody who does weddings’. Well, that as ever got me thinking, perhaps I should launch into cheap boiler repairs? I have no particular skill or qualifications for that but it can’t be that hard, I could learn as I go…….. .!!!

If you are looking for a photographer for Weddings or Portraits please look out for the letters after their name :-

LBIPP or LMPA – Licensed as competent photographers

ABIPP or AMPA – Associate qualification, highly skilled photographers.

FBIPP or FMPA – The highest qualification for only awarded to a very few exceptional photographers.

It is worth asking which discipline (Wedding, Portrait, etc) they qualified in. Sandra and I are both Associate level in wedding photography.

Unlike a boiler service cutting corners on your wedding photography won’t kill you, but you could be left with a very unpleasant memory. Please only trust a Qualified Professional Photographer.

  • Wedding Photography for Sarah & Will at Prested Hall, Feering

An extremely hot day greeted us on arrival at Prested Hall, Feering for the Wedding of Sarah & Will.  Prested Hall looked a perfect setting for an outdoor Ceremony with the sun shining brightly.  Both Sarah and Will were getting ready at Prested Hall, so I went with the girls whilst David went with the boys to capture the final preparations.  Following the Ceremony, Sarah and Will were able to mingle with their Guests for the Drinks Reception before we took a few requested family group photographs.  Just before the Wedding Breakfast we took Sarah and Will for their portraits around the grounds of Prested Hall and we would like to thank them for for giving us extra time allowing us to try  a couple of different ideas.  After the Wedding Breakfast we took a couple of evening pictures of Sarah and Will together with a few pictures of their evening Guests before the First Dance.
