Two Great Wedding Fairs!
Today Sandra ran the display at Fennes Open Day and I ran the display at Smeetham Hall Barn Wedding Fayre.
We both took bookings so it was an excellent day!
We were very pleased to be asked to photograph Nikki and Rob’s Wedding Day at Fennes. Nikki works in the Accounts Office at The Fennes Estate.
Our day started at Fennes, arriving whilst the girls preparations were underway and the excitement was increasing.
Nikki and Rob chose to be married at St Mary’s Church, Bocking, so we had to be very aware of the time so we would not miss the Guys’ arrival shots at church. With pictures of the details and accessories in the bag, and everybody was ready, we got on with taking the posed pictures. After Nikki’s Dad saw her for the first time in her Wedding dress and escorted her downstairs, we went into the Gold Room. One of the nice things with Nikki and Rob choosing a Church wedding, was that the downstairs of Fennes was available for Nikki’s pictures before she went. Once we had taken the pictures we left to go to the Church. The pathway up to the St Mary’s allows for some nice Guest arrival pictures whilst Rob, his Best Man and Ushers were having a few pictures taken, before he disappeared into the Church.
Nikki arrived, took her Father’s arm and walked up the path to the Church. After the Church service we organised the few requested family pictures. The Guests then lined the path at the gate for Nikki and Rob to walk through, throwing confetti as they did so. Nikki, Rob and ourselves were first back to Fennes so after a couple of pictures with the car driven by Adrian of Vintage Dreams, we walked over to the Bridge, a must for Weddings at Fennes! With Lottie, front of house co-ordinator and the staff at Fennes as always taking good care of the Guests as they arrived, we carried on with a short tour of the grounds for Nikki and Rob’s pictures.
They then joined the Drinks Reception and talked to their Guests. Bridal fun pictures happened later, shortly before the Wedding Breakfast. A singer entertained everybody during the Wedding Breakfast before the Speeches. Whilst waiting for the Evening Reception to start Guests enjoyed walking around in the grounds of Fennes. A short time later the evening Guests started to arrive for the Reception in the Marquee. The Pavilion looked wonderful as Nikki and Rob greeted all their Guests as they made their way in. After the cutting of the Wedding Cake they took to the dance floor for their First Dance together as man and wife.
Making sure we were happy with our images of capturing Nikki and Rob’s special Day, catching up with people we knew, we said our ‘goodbyes’. Congratulations Nikki and Rob on a lovely day!
Prested Hall, Feering was the Wedding Venue chosen by Charlotte and Lee for their Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception. Charlotte and her Bridesmaids were getting ready upstairs in the Bridal Suite so we captured these moments as well as taking the detail and accessory pictures. Charlotte & Lee’s sons, together with Lee and his Groomsmen arrived so David went off to meet them for some pictures. Once Charlotte and her Bridesmaids were dressed and ready we took a few pictures. The Ceremony was in the Orangery, so when it was time, with the Harpist playing, Charlotee took her Father’s arm and they walked into the room.
After the Ceremony, Charlotte and Lee came out of the Orangery and went into the Lounge area, followed by their Guests. Drinks were served and after a little time we all went outside. The weather was fine, the sun was out, and the garden games were on the lawn. During this time a few family pictures were taken, some fun bridal party pictures taken outside the front of Prested Hall. After making sure Charlotte and Lee had socialised, it was time for some pictures of them together. A short walk around Prested Hal provided us with the opportunity of taking some nice pictures.
Getting some pictures of the boys was a must so picking the right time was important. By this stage in the afternoon, Ryan and Oliver and just wanted to have fun, fine with us! Images achieved! The Wedding Breakfast was held in the Marquee with the Speeches following. Lee started off his Speech traditionally, then came the surprise! Playing his Guitar, singing a song, which he had written, brilliant!
After the Best Man’s Speech everybody had time to wander around the grounds or go in the house before the evening entertainment. The best place today for Charlotte and Lee’s sunset picture was a quick drive away and Charlotte and Lee were more than happy to do this! The Cake cutting and First Dance happened a little while later. Now came the hardest part of the evening, keeping a low profile (disappearing!) as there was to be a ‘surprise’ firework display curtesy of her Dad, which Charlotte, Lee and the Guests did not know about! When everybody was ushered outside later in the evening, we reappeared! Charlotee said she thought we had gone without saying ‘goodbye’! Not us! Our time to go was after the brilliant display. A lovely day to be a Prested Hall Wedding Photographer!
It was a pleasure to photograph Leah and Christopher’s Wedding which was held at Fennes in the late summer. The Fennes Estate looked a picture as always and whilst waiting for Leah to arrive we photographed the setting. Christopher arrived and made his way to Fennes Cottage where he got dressed. Leah arrived shortly afterwards with her hair done and only the final touch up of her make-up needed. We worked with David of Rideout Productions who is one of the best wedding film makers anywhere. After taking pictures of Leah’s Dress and Accessories, Leah and the Bridesmaids put on their dresses. Chris and his Groomsmen had their pictures taken in front of Fennes just before the Guests started to arrive. Leaving Chris to greet the Guests it was time for Leah’s pictures upstairs. The girls were so relaxed, giggling away!
After capturing the moments when Leah’s Dad entered the room, we finished off with taking a few pictures of Leah. Sue (a gem! – Fennes’ front of house) arrived stating time was up! With the Bridesmaids leading the way, Leah taking her Father’s arm followed them into the Pavilion. After the Ceremony, everybody went outside for a few requested family pictures before socialising during the Drinks Reception, with the String Quartet providing the music. Leah and Chris wanted lots of casual pictures taken and they were not disappointed, we were spoilt for choice! For Leah and Chris’ pictures we went over to the bridge. The ground was soft so Leah made the right choice to change into her ‘Hunter’ wellies and not spoil her wonderful shoes!
After the confetti pictures the Wedding Breakfast was in the Pavilion and was followed by the Speeches. We great great moments captured in the speeches! There was time before the cake cutting and First Dance for a little time with Leah and Chris for a few pictures in the Gold and Red rooms. A beautiful day provided a nice sunset as well.
Later, finishing off with some informal pictures of Leah sand Chris’ evening Guests ended our day. A wonderful day of Fennes wedding photography.
It was a beautiful day for the wedding of Lucy and Richard who were married at the wonderful Hedingham Castle. We started at the Garden Cottage which was a hive of activity with everybody getting ready but all was going well. Once the Pageboys and Flowergirls were ready they went downstairs freeing up space for the Bridesmaids and Lucy to finish their preparations. Whilst this was going on, David went to meet Richard with his Best Man and Ushers who were arriving at the House. After taking some pictures he returned to the Cottage. The girls were ready, looking beautiful, so just having enough time for a few shots of them all we set to work. The Bridesmaids, Flowergirls and Pageboys then went in the car for the short drive to the House. This allowed us time to take a few Bridal portraits of Lucy before the car returned to transport her to the House. All together they then walked over the Bridge towards the Castle for the Ceremony. After they exchanged their vows they signed the Register in front of their Guests. Whilst the Guests left the Castle to go outside, we took Lucy and Richard into the Minstrels Gallery for a few pictures before joining them all outside.
Moving swiftly on with taking the requested family group pictures, it wasn’t long before the Guests lined the Bridge for the confetti. The Reception Drinks were served in the Great Hall and as the sun was still out everybody went into the gardens. The children enjoyed the freedom of the gardens to play whilst we captured the moments. During the afternoon we took a few other pictures together with a few ‘together’pictures of Lucy and Richard. The Receiving Line preceded the Wedding Breakfast, which was held in the Marquee.
The Speeches followed before the beginning of the evening celebrations. After taking a few pictures of the Evening Guests and a few evening pictures of Lucy and Richard, the Band was set up ready for Lucy and Richard’s First Dance.
A short time afterwards we left them them to continue their celebrations. It was lovely to see Ross, Richard’s Brother with this wife Katie this time with their two children and other members of the family. We photographed Ross and Katie’s Wedding at Layer Marney Tower in 2007. A lovely day!
The sun was shining for Jaimey and Mehmet’s Wedding day at Fennes. We arrived at Fennes just before Mehmet arrived with his Groomsmen. They made their way into the Library to finish getting ready. Jaimey was upstairs having her hair done and the room was a hive of activity! Working around their preparations I got on with photographing the details and accessories, whilst David was downstairs with the men capturing their preparations. David couldn’t leave the men as a surprise was in store for Mehmet! Unbeknown to Mehmet, Jaimey had arranged for a Ferrari to arrive at Fennes and take him to St Mary’s Church, Bocking for the Church service. It wasn’t long before the Ferrari arrived and Memhmet’s Best Man persuaded Mehmet to go to the front of the house . How surprised Mehmet was! Grinning from ear to ear, Mehmet just stared at the Ferrarri before climbing in to have some pictures taken. Jaimey was delighted her surprise had worked and enjoyed the feedback from the Bridesmaids and a few Guests who had watched the drama unfolding. Mehmet was then chauffeured to St Mary’s Church. Time was racing by and with so many people getting ready we decided that I would go to the Church whilst David stayed behind capturing what was happening. After meeting the men at the Church and capturing some pictures of the Guests as well as Mehmet, it wasn’t long before Jaimey arrived. We captured the moments as they happened as they all made their way into the Church.
After the Church service we took a few family pictures outside the Church before the Guests made their way down to the gate for the confetti pictures. Before leaving the Church we took a couple pictures of Jaimey and Mehmet with the car before they left for the Reception. As we were back at Fennes with Jaimey and Mehmet well before their Guests, we went to take some pictures on the bridge and around the grounds. Returning to the House we caught up on a few bridal shots of Jaimey that we didn’t get earlier in the Gold Room.
As the Guests arrived they enjoyed the Drinks Reception in the gardens. The Wedding Breakfast was held in the Pavilion and was followed by the Speeches. With the main Speeches delivered a few of Jaimey and Mehmet’s relatives and friends said a few words. It was a beautiful evening and afterwards Guests went outside and socialised. Using the superb grounds we took some relaxed bridal party pictures before it was time for the First Dance. Finishing Jaimey and Mehmet’s coverage of their special day a nice sunset picture.
Thank you so much Sue (Fennes Front of house) for your help, much appreciated as always!
Come and visit us at Fennes Open Day, tomorrow for a friendly chat about your Wedding and to view our Wedding photography.
One of the interesting comments we have received recently, is how ‘other photographers’ were supposedly offering better price and products …… this was without the potential client even coming to see what our products are like or asking about what is included! While we can not be considered to offer the cheapest packages around, we do try to offer realistic packages that don’t include too many nasty cost surprises after the wedding! Do please come and chat, we are not ‘pressure sales’ people!
“we received them- they are amazing i cried my eyes out! as did my family!”
Thankfully these are the type of tears we want, tears of joy!! We hear so many stories of Brides who used inexperienced or ‘budget’ photographers and didn’t get the happy memories of their big day. That’s not to say that we are perfect! However, with approaching 2000 weddings of experience there is pretty good chance of us providing you with the service you expect!
All the sample pictures on this site were taken by either myself or Sandra and all at real live weddings. All our sample albums are from individual weddings, not just a collection of the best pictures over a period. Photographing a couple dressed in wedding attire but not on a wedding day, can result in some fantastic pictures, they are however, not wedding pictures! Do check with your intended photographer exactly what you are looking at. How much experience have they got photographing weddings?
Sue and Mark’s home was where we started our coverage of their Wedding. We took the details and accessory shots together with a few getting ready picture, before they were all dressed.
Not long after we left to go to Prested Hall, Feering. Mark was there with his son, Finley and Best Man, Ian, so before they got busy with greeting the Guests we took a few pictures of them. Sue arrived early at Prested Hall with her sons, Ben and Jack. Making the most of the time and nice weather,we took a few pictures in and outside the Dingle. When it was time they walked over to Prested Hall. After seeing the Registrars, Sue, escorted by her sons made her way into the Orangery and down the aisle for the Ceremony. Once the formalities were completed Sue and Mark walked out of the Orangery and into the Lounge area. After getting a drink, people went outside. During the afternoon we took a few requested family group pictures, confetti and informal pictures. Allowing time for Sue and Mark to speak to their Guests and enjoy the Drinks Reception, we still had time to take them off for a short walk around the grounds.
After taking some relaxed and pictures of the children it was time for the Wedding Breakfast.
Sue and Mark chose to have their Speeches after the main course, which we were on hand to cover. After the finish of the Wedding Breakfast, the Guests had time to wander around the grounds or just relax and catch up with each other over coffee. The Orangery had been transformed for the the evening’s entertainment. Sue and Mark’s evening Guests had arrived so after the cake cutting, they had their First Dance together.
Not having a sunset to finish their day, we made sure of a few night pictures for them. A lovely day and once again it’s great to be a Prested Hall Wedding Photographer!
Cristy and Ryan held their Wedding at the Prince Regent Hotel, Chigwell. On arrival we went to find Cristy who was in the final stages of her preparations for her special day. We captured these moments as well as meeting with Ryan for his pictures and later took a few pictures with his Ushers. With the Bridesmaids and Ava, Cristy’s daughter ready, we took a few pictures of them. Just having a little time we were able to take a couple of pictures of Cristy, who looked amazing, before the Ceremony.
After the Ceremony, Cristy and Ryan led their Guests outside for the Drinks Reception. As the Guests enjoyed the sunshine we took a few requested family group photographs and a few photos of Cristy and Ryan. Prior to the Wedding Breakfast Cristy and Ryan were covered by a shower of confetti.
As the Guests made their way into the room for the Wedding Breakfast we made the most of a few minutes for a few extra pictures of the happy couple. The Speeches followed the meal and then Cristy and Ryan cut their Wedding cake. The evening Guests arrived the dancing started, and it wasn’t long before Cristy and Ryan’s First Dance. Pleased with our coverage of their Wedding we left them all to continue the celebrations.
