  • Reid Rooms Wedding Photography for Sarah & Chris

    Reid Rooms Wedding Photography

The Reid Rooms in the Essex countryside was Sarah & Chris’ choice of Wedding Venue for their Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception.  It was a lovely Autumn day with the weather just right. Sarah arrived at The Farmhouse at the Reid Rooms with her hair and make-up done. Once Sarah, her Parents, Bridesmaids and Flowergirl were in and all sorted they got changed. Whilst this was going on David went off to find Chris and his Best Man, Matt, to take a few pictures.  When Sarah was ready we took a few bridal portraits of her before she went down the stairs to where her Father was waiting for her.

Wedding Photographer Reid RoomsAfter capturing the moment we went into the Lounge to take a few pictures family pictures. As this was happening, Chris was making his way into the Ceremony Room together with the Guests. It was then Sarah’s turn to make her way to the Ceremony. so taking her Father’s arm off they walked.  With the formalities of the Wedding Ceremony completed the Guests followed Sarah and Chris out into the Courtyard. Reid Rooms Recommended Wedding Photographer Enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of this Wedding Venue, Sarah and Chris had time to socialise with their Guests allowing us to capture the informal moments. After the family pictures and fun Bridal pictures, it was time for us to take Sarah and Chris for a mini tour around the Reid Rooms grounds. Pleased with our photos we returned in no time at all ready for the confetti pictures.Reid Rooms Wedding approved Photographer After the Wedding Breakfast we covered the Speeches. Loving our sunset shots as we do, we had to be ready to take these soon after the Speeches finished!  Once the Evening Guests had arrived it was time for the First Dance to take place. Finishing our coverage of Sarah and Chris’ Wedding Day we took a couple of pictures of them outside. Reid Rooms Wedding PhotographyA lovely day of  Reid Rooms Wedding Photograph, thank you Sarah and Chris, it was great working with you.

We were pleased to hear from Martin and Jess again in September last year telling us their news. They now have a daughter, Evie, and have now moved to Essex. Martin and Jess wanted some pictures of Evie and some up-dated pictures of Charlie, their Son, we couldn’t believe it was in 2010 they were married at Layer Marney Tower and almost a couple of years ago when we last photographed Charlie!  When we arrived at their house, Jess was out picking up Charlie from a birthday party, which gave us some time to take some pictures of Evie. By the time they arrived back we had done this.  After Charlie had told us about how much fun he had at the birthday party, he was more than happy to go outside. Martin and Jess wanted a couple of family pictures taken as well which we were able to achieve in the garden. An enjoyable time spent with a lovely family.

Wedding Photography Spains Hall for Vicki & Jonathan

Vicki and Jonathan booked us for their Spains Hall wedding photography for their big day in the early Autumn last year. On the morning of the Wedding we arrived at Spains Hall and met Vicki and the Girls in Crest Lodge.  Preparations were well in hand, although Vicki was going to get dressed over at the Hall in the Tapestry Room. With the Bridesmaids and Flowergirls dressed we all walked over to the Hall. Whilst the girls finished their preparations I finished off taking pictures of the details and accessories.  Meanwhile, David met up with Jonathan and his Best Man, and got on with taking a few pictures of them in the Stables before they walked over to the Hall.

Wedding Photographer Spains HallOnce Vicki was ready, her Father joined us upstairs for a few traditional portraits before it was time for the Wedding  Ceremony. The Wedding Guests took their seats in the Elizabethan Hall ready for the entrance of Vicki accompanied by her Dad.  After the Ceremony, Vicki and Jonathan had a few minutes to themselves before walking back through the Elizabethan Hall to go outside.  Their Guests were waiting for them and as they walked out into the sunshine, the Guests covered them with confetti.Wedding Photography Spains Hall Whilst everybody was in one place outside we decided to take the ‘everybody’ picture before they then walked around to the gardens of Spains Hall for the Drinks Reception. During the afternoon we took a few family pictures together with a few pictures of Vicki and Jonathan.  When it was time for the Wedding Breakfast the Guests made their way over to the Stables and Coach House giving us some extra time with Vicki and Jonathan.Spains Hall Wedding Photography After the Wedding Breakfast and the Speeches everyone enjoyed socialising on the terrace or walking around the grounds.  It was a lovely evening and we managed to get a little time with Vicki and Jonathan, before the arrival of the evening Guests, for some extra pictures, which included a wonderful sunset! Spains Hall WeddingJust before the cutting of the Wedding Cake Vicki tossed her bouquet and then Vicki and Jonathan took to the dance floor for the First Dance.  After capturing a flavour of the evening celebrations it was time for us to say goodbye.

  • Prested Hall Wedding Photographer for Charlotte & Lee

    Prested Hall Wedding Photographer

Prested Hall, Feering was the Wedding Venue chosen by Charlotte and Lee for their Civil Ceremony and Wedding Reception.  Charlotte and her Bridesmaids were getting ready upstairs in the Bridal Suite so we captured these moments as well as taking the detail and accessory pictures.  Charlotte & Lee’s sons, together with Lee and his Groomsmen  arrived so David went off to meet  them for some pictures.  Once  Charlotte and her Bridesmaids were dressed and ready we took a few pictures. The Ceremony was in the Orangery, so when it was time, with the Harpist playing, Charlotee took her Father’s arm and they walked into the room.

Prested Hall Wedding After the Ceremony, Charlotte and Lee came out of the Orangery and went into the Lounge area, followed by their Guests.  Drinks were served and after a little time we all went outside. The weather was fine, the sun was out, and the garden games were on the lawn. During this time a few family pictures were taken, some fun bridal party pictures taken outside the front of Prested Hall.  After making sure Charlotte and Lee had socialised, it was time for some pictures of them together. A short walk around Prested Hal  provided us with the opportunity of taking some nice pictures.Prested Hall Wedding Photographer Getting some pictures of the boys was a must so picking the right time was important.  By this stage in the afternoon, Ryan and Oliver and  just wanted to have fun, fine with us!  Images achieved! The Wedding Breakfast was held in the Marquee with the Speeches following. Lee started off his Speech traditionally, then came the surprise! Playing his Guitar, singing a song, which he had written, brilliant! Prested Hall Wedding PhotographerAfter the Best Man’s Speech everybody had time to wander around the grounds or go in the house before the evening entertainment. The best place today for Charlotte and Lee’s sunset picture was a quick drive away and Charlotte and Lee were more than happy to do this! The Cake cutting and First Dance happened a little while later.  Now came the hardest part of the evening, keeping a low profile (disappearing!) as there was to be a ‘surprise’ firework display curtesy of her Dad, which Charlotte, Lee and the Guests did not know about! When everybody was ushered outside later in the evening, we reappeared! Charlotee said she thought we had gone without saying ‘goodbye’! Not us! Our time to go was after the brilliant display. A lovely day to be a Prested Hall Wedding Photographer!Wedding Photographer Prested Hall

  • Fennes Wedding Photography – Leah & Christopher

    Fennes Wedding Photography

It was a pleasure to photograph Leah and Christopher’s Wedding which was held at Fennes in the late summer.  The Fennes Estate looked a picture as always and whilst waiting for Leah to arrive we photographed the setting. Christopher arrived and made his way to Fennes Cottage where he got dressed.  Leah arrived shortly afterwards with her hair done and only the final touch up of her make-up needed. We worked with David of Rideout Productions who is one of the best wedding film makers anywhere. After taking pictures of Leah’s Dress and Accessories, Leah and the Bridesmaids put on their dresses. Fennes Wedding Photography Chris and his Groomsmen had their pictures taken in front of Fennes just before the Guests started to arrive.  Leaving Chris to greet the Guests it was time for Leah’s pictures upstairs.  The girls were so relaxed, giggling away!Fennes Wedding Photos After capturing the moments when Leah’s Dad entered the room, we finished off with taking a few pictures of Leah.  Sue (a gem! – Fennes’ front of house) arrived stating time was up! With the Bridesmaids leading the way, Leah taking her Father’s arm followed them into the Pavilion.  After the Ceremony, everybody went outside for a few requested family pictures before socialising during the Drinks Reception, with the String Quartet providing the music.  Leah and Chris wanted lots of casual pictures taken and they were not disappointed, we were spoilt for choice! For Leah and Chris’ pictures we went over to the bridge.  The ground was soft so Leah made the right choice to change into her ‘Hunter’ wellies and not spoil her wonderful shoes! Fennes Wedding PhotographerAfter the confetti pictures the Wedding Breakfast was in the Pavilion and was followed by the Speeches.  We great great moments captured in the speeches!  There was time before the cake cutting and First Dance for a little time with Leah and Chris for a few pictures in the Gold and Red rooms.  A beautiful day provided a nice sunset as well. Fennes approved Wedding PhotographerLater, finishing off with some informal pictures of Leah sand Chris’ evening Guests ended our day.  A wonderful day of Fennes wedding photography.

Just before Christmas we finally retired one of our all time favourite sample books of ‘Lottie and Rich’ who were married on Burgh Island, Devon in 2007. Although we use mostly Graphistudio books these days we still do offer Queensberry to those who appreciate the difference. Although the pictures are timeless sadly even Queensberry albums show their age eventually with the large number of wedding exhibits we do! As the family have subsequently used us for children’s portraits a few times, we thought it would be a nice gift for the couple so we dropped the album into Lottie’s Mum. Here are some kind words she sent to us:-

“I have just been enjoying a wonderful trip down memory lane looking at the photo album (the shopping list had to take second place!). Lottie and Rich are going to be over the moon at such a fabulous surprise. I know they are going to adore the album. The photos are incredible and stunningly beautiful. Not that many are repeats of ones we chose which is a great bonus. In fact there are a few that I can hardly remember seeing. I don’t have the words to thank you, we were blessed when Sam at the Wedding Shop recommended you. The only recommendation from her I hasten to add. She said she didn’t like giving Brides suggestions but made an exception with you because your photos were the best she had ever seen. She wasn’t wrong either!!

Glad that you are having a little bit of a respite. Make sure you really relax over Christmas.

Our love to all the family,
    Karen

  • Hedingham Castle Wedding Photography for Lucy & Richard

    Hedingham Castle Wedding Photography

It was a beautiful day for the wedding of Lucy and Richard who were married at the wonderful Hedingham Castle. We started at the Garden Cottage which was a hive of activity with everybody getting ready but all was going well. Wedding Photographer Hedingham CastleOnce the Pageboys and Flowergirls were ready they went downstairs freeing up space for the Bridesmaids and Lucy to finish their preparations. Whilst this was going on, David went to meet Richard with his Best Man and Ushers who were arriving at the House. After taking some pictures he returned to the Cottage.  The girls were ready, looking beautiful, so just having enough time for a few shots of them all we set to work.  The Bridesmaids, Flowergirls and Pageboys then went in the car for the short drive to the House.  This allowed us time to take a few Bridal portraits of Lucy before the car returned to transport her to the House.  All together they then walked over the Bridge towards the Castle for the Ceremony. After they exchanged their vows they signed the Register in front of their Guests.  Whilst the Guests left the Castle to go outside, we took Lucy and Richard into the Minstrels Gallery for a few pictures before joining them all outside.Hedingham Castle Wedding Photography Moving swiftly on with taking the requested family group pictures, it wasn’t long before the Guests lined the Bridge for the confetti.  The Reception Drinks were served in the Great Hall and as the sun was still out everybody went into the gardens. The children enjoyed the freedom of the gardens to play whilst we captured the moments. During the afternoon we took a few other pictures together with a few ‘together’pictures of Lucy and Richard.  The Receiving Line preceded the Wedding Breakfast, which was held in the Marquee. Essex Wedding Photographer Hedingham Castle The Speeches followed before the beginning of the evening celebrations. After taking a few pictures of the Evening Guests and a few evening pictures of Lucy and Richard, the Band was set up ready for Lucy and Richard’s First Dance. Wedding Photographer Hedingham CastleA short time afterwards we left them them to continue their celebrations.  It was lovely to see Ross, Richard’s Brother with this wife Katie this time with their two children and other members of the family. We photographed Ross and Katie’s Wedding at Layer Marney Tower in 2007.  A lovely day!

It was a hot day for Julia and David’s Wedding Day at Layer Marney Tower, Layer-de-la-Haye. A late afternoon summer Wedding was what Julia and David chose.  We arrived  before Julia and David at Layer Marney and as the Wedding Guests arrived we took a few informal pictures.  Julia and David arrived together and had a few requested pictures taken before it was time for them to see the Registrars. Layer Marney Wedding PhotographerJulia and David then made their way into the Corsellis Room with their Flowergirl and Pageboys and greeted the Guests as they made their way to their seats. The Ceremony followed then Julia and David went for a drive together as their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception outside in the grounds.  Returning from their drive, Julia and David walked up towards the Tower and socialised with their Guests. Fennes Wedding Photos for Jaimey & Mehmet

The sun was shining for Jaimey and Mehmet’s Wedding day at Fennes.  We arrived at Fennes just before Mehmet arrived with his Groomsmen.  They made their way into the Library to finish getting ready.  Jaimey was upstairs having her hair done and the room was a hive of activity! Working around their preparations I got on with photographing the details and accessories, whilst David was downstairs with the men capturing their preparations.  David couldn’t leave the men as a surprise was in store for Mehmet!  Unbeknown to Mehmet, Jaimey had arranged for a Ferrari to arrive at Fennes and take him to St Mary’s Church, Bocking for the Church service. It wasn’t long before the Ferrari arrived and Memhmet’s Best Man persuaded Mehmet to go to the front of the house .  How surprised Mehmet was!  Grinning from ear to ear, Mehmet just stared at the Ferrarri before climbing in to have some pictures taken. Recommended Wedding Photographer Fennes Jaimey was delighted her surprise had worked and enjoyed the feedback from the Bridesmaids and a few Guests who had watched the drama unfolding.  Mehmet  was then chauffeured to St Mary’s Church.  Time was racing by and with so many people getting ready we decided that I would go to the Church whilst David stayed behind capturing what was happening.  After meeting the men at the Church and capturing some pictures of the Guests as well as Mehmet, it wasn’t long before Jaimey arrived.  We captured the moments as they happened as they all made their way into the Church. Fennes Weddng Photography After the Church service we took a few family pictures outside the Church before the Guests made their way down to the gate for the confetti pictures. Before leaving the Church we took a couple pictures of Jaimey and Mehmet with the car before they left for the Reception.  As we were back at Fennes with Jaimey and Mehmet well before their Guests, we went to take some pictures on the bridge and around the grounds. Returning to the House we caught up on a few bridal shots of Jaimey that we didn’t get earlier in the Gold Room.Wedding Photographer Fennes Recommended As the Guests arrived they enjoyed the Drinks Reception in the gardens. The Wedding  Breakfast was held in the Pavilion and was followed by the Speeches. With the main Speeches delivered  a few of Jaimey and Mehmet’s relatives and friends said a few words.  It was a beautiful evening and afterwards Guests went outside and socialised.  Using the superb grounds we took some relaxed bridal party pictures before it was time for the First Dance.  Finishing Jaimey and Mehmet’s coverage of their special day a nice sunset picture. Fennes Wedding Photos Thank you so much Sue (Fennes Front of house) for your help, much appreciated as always!

Wedding Photography Cambridge – Laura & Mark

Laura and Mark’s Wedding in Cambridge was on a beautiful day. It was a bright and early start for our journey to Laura’s Parents’ home where the Bridal preparations were taking place.  On arrival, whilst Laura, her Parents, Sisters and her Niece and Nephew were getting ready, we busied ourselves with taking pictures of the Laura’s Wedding Dress and Accessories. In between we captured the informal moments and atmosphere of the morning.  Once her hair and make-up was finished, Laura put on her Wedding Dress, the time was going very quickly! What a picture! Laura looked stunning! Everybody else looked lovely too! After a few pictures we left them to travel to St John the Evangelist Church, Cambridge for the Church service.

Wedding Photography Cambridge David Islip Mark was there with his Best Man, Usher and his Parents, so we took a few pictures before they disappeared into the beautiful Church.  Laura arrived and after being joined by her Mum and the Bridesmaids we took a few pictures of them before it was time for the service.  Imogen, Laura’s niece and the Flowergirl played her part very well, sprinkling the rose petals down the aisle as Laura took her Mum’s arm and walked down the aisle.  Extra special moments for Laura marrying in this Church, this was the church where her Grandma was married. Essex Wedding Photographer Cambridge WeddingSome lovely images were taken during the service and afterwards the Guests followed Laura and Mark outside for a few family pictures.  The sun was shining, it was extremely warm but luckily we were able to find some shade.  Deciding to make the most of our area outside the Church we got on with the requested family groups followed by a couple of Bridal party pictures.  Confetti was thrown by their Guests as they left the Church for the Reception.  DoubleTree Hilton Hotel was the chosen Wedding Venue for Laura and Mark.  We arrived moments after Laura and Mark arrived at the Hotel, they were just waiting for their chauffeured ride on a punt down the river.  With their glasses of champagne they set off.  River Cam Cambridge Wedding PhotographerAs their Guests arrived, they enjoyed the Drinks Reception whilst watching the comings and goings on the River.  When Laura and Mark returned from their ride, we managed to take a few pictures of them before they were welcomed by their Guests and enjoyed some social time.  The Wedding Breakfast was served shortly after and the Speeches and cake cutting followed.  Whilst the room was being prepared for the evening celebrations, Laura and Mark’s evening Guests arrived.  The final part of our coverage of Mark and Laura’s Wedding was First Dance pictures, some night pictures and to round the day off some brilliant sparkler pictures. Cambridge Wedding Photographer A fantastic day! Thank you to Laura and Mark for wanting the pictures and it was lovely to meet Laura’s family again.
