Wedding Photography Woodhall Manor for Jade and Andy

We were delighted in more ways than one, to be asked to photograph Jade and Andrew’s Wedding at Woodhall Manor, Woodbridge, Suffolk. We had previous bookings when asked previously for Weddings at Woodhall Manor, so we were pleased when Jade and Andrew gave us their date for their Wedding and we were available! We arrived early at the stunning Wedding Venue,  Woodhall Manor, Woodbridge on the morning of Jade and Andrew’s Wedding with the staff preparing for an inside Ceremony. Although Jade and Andrew wanted an outside Ceremony it was considered the grass was rather wet so inside was planned.  First off we went to find Jade who was getting ready with her Bridesmaids.

Woodhall Manor Wedding PhotographerWhilst the girls were getting ready, David went off to find the men who were finishing off their preparations in the Cottage. During this time there was a quick turnaround with the Ceremony, outside it would be, the sun was out, the temperature was increasing rapidly and the grass was fine!Wedding Photographer Woodhall Manor Woodbridge SuffolkAfter taking some pictures of Andrew and his Groomsmen, as Jade and her Bridesmaids and Parents were ready we took a few pictures of them. Jade looked amazing! Soon it was time for the short walk to where the Wedding Guests were seated for the outside Ceremony. After the Ceremony, Jade and Andrew walked around the back of Woodhall Manor for the Drinks Reception and we had time for a couple of pictures of them before they were joined by their Guests.Wedding Photography Woodhall Manor Suffolk For a while everybody then mingled before we got on with taking the requested family group pictures, allowing us to capture some nice informal pictures. During the time before the Wedding  Breakfast we took Jade and Andrew for a short walk around the Venue for a few pictures of them. Just before the Wedding Breakfast in the Banqueting Suite we took an ‘e shot in front of the Manor House.  Coverage of the Speeches took place after the Wedding Breakfast then everybody went outside where Garden games were set up. It was a beautiful evening and during this time we had a chance to chat with Georgina (Andrew’s sister) and Simon, whose Wedding we photographed at The Fennes Estate in 2010. With the room set up for the evening celebrations Jade and Andrew cut their Wedding cake before taking to the dance floor for their First Dance together. Some evening pictures of Jade and Andrew ended our coverage of their wonderful Wedding Day. Woodhall Manor Wedding Photographer A big ‘thank you’ to Jade and Andrew for working with us to obtain some great pictures!   A truly lovely couple!

Essex Wedding Photography – Spains Hall

It was a dry day for Annette and Jason’s Essex Wedding photography at Spains Hall, Finchingfield. On arrival at Spains Hall we made our way over to the House where Annette, her Mum and Bridesmaids were getting ready. Upstairs the girls were busy with their preparations and with lots of accessories and details to photograph, there was no time to lose! A little while later during the preparations, Mia, the Flowergirl, joined them and very happy to be part of what was going on. Meanwhile, Jason and his  Brother, Micky, who was theBest Man had arrived and before they began their Wedding duties they had a few pictures taken. Once Annette was dressed, her Dad came into the room to see his daughter.  A special moment, affecting us all!

Essex Wedding PhotographyAfter taking a few pictures of Annette with the Bridesmaids, Flowergirl and Parents, it was time for Annette to go and see the Registrars.  The Guests who were seated for the Ceremony awaited the entrance of Annette and her Father. Essex Wedding Photographer Spains Hall Following the Ceremony, Annette and Jason had a few minutes to themselves inside whilst the Guests went outside to get ready with the confetti. When Annette and Jason were ready they went outside for the confetti throwing. Annette and Jason then had time to socialise with their Guests during the Drinks Reception in the grounds. During this time we took some informal pictures together with the requested family pictures and a few pictures of Annette and Jason.  Prior to the Wedding Breakfast we took a few fun Bridal Party shots and Annette throwing her bouquet. Wedding Photographer Spains HallAfter the Greeting Line, everybody was seated in time for the Wedding Breakfast to be served. The Speeches followed the meal then the guests left the room so it could be set up for the evening celebrations. Whilst this was being done, Annette’s Dad played the Keyboard.  Brilliant caricatures were drawn by George,  providing extra entertainment whilst the Band were setting up. This gave us time to take Annette and Jason for a short evening walk around the grounds for a few extra photographs of them.Wedding Photography Spains Hall FinchingfieldAnnette and Jason cut their Wedding Cake before taking to the dance floor for the their First Dance. After taking  a few pictures of some evening Guests, it was time for us to take our leave.  A wonderful day!

35 Years of Professional Wedding Photography

35 Years ago David photographed his Professional wedding assignment. In those days it was film so it had to be correct straight off, no digital “check it on the screen” and “can you correct that in Photoshop!!”

Jeannette and Martin were married at Braintree Register Office on 1st August 1981 and if I remember correctly it cost them about £45. It was shot on 35mm Kodak film on a Nikon FM (manual exposure, manual focus) with just a 50mmm lens.  We still have the negatives on file and all of the 1950 weddings we have photographed since then! Congratulations to Jeannette and Martin who are still married and now live in Bristol, we are still great friends. Thank you again to them, for having the faith to book in the first place!

    Dear David and Sandra,

Just a quick email to thank you once again for being our wedding photographers. Pete and I are delighted with the photo book and we know we will enjoy looking at the pictures for years to come.

    Kind Regards

    Alice

Marquee weddings are often booked at shorter notice so we regularly miss out. This is due to us being booked at one of the many venues where we are recommended. Alice and Pete booked us earlier for their Wedding and we were very pleased we were free!

The guys were ready first so after a couple of pictures there, they left The Dingle and walked over to Prested Hall. Essex Wedding Photographer Prested Hall Just before they greeted the Guests, Phil, his Best Man and Ushers had a few pictures taken outside. With final hair and make-up preparations finished Vicky was ready to put her Wedding Dress on.  Once dressed, Vicky’s Dad came into the room to see his daughter before we got on with a few pictures.  The Wedding Guests took their seats in the Garden Room whilst Vicky met with the Registrars. Handfasting Ceremony Photos Crabbs Barn

A first for us at Crabbs Barn, photographing  Handfasting Ceremony Photos! Niki and Chris wanted their Pagan Handfasting Ceremony held outside, so our fingers were crossed for a fine day.  Niki was getting ready at the Bridal Suite at Crabbs Barn but only wanted a few pictures when she was ready. This was good for us because as we were there in plenty of time we were able to meet with the Officiants for this Pagan Ceremony and watch the preparations, as well as photograph the details. It was a beautiful day, Chris was on hand to answer or questions and it was lovely to see it all come together.  After taking a few pictures of Chris, looking very dapper,  meeting with the Pentacle Drummers who looked splendid in their colourful clothes, Guests were arriving, so leaving Chris to greet them we went to meet with Niki.  Niki looked amazing in her dress, with the detail on the dress so beautifully made. We took a few pictures of Niki just before the Pentacle Drummers joined us. All the Guests had arrived and stood around the circle for the arrival of Niki. Time for Niki to walk along the path to the front of Crabbs Barn. Hand fasting Ceremony Pagan Wedding Photographer EssexThe Pentacle Drummers led the way, the noise of their drums was wonderful.  Niki followed and after three laps of the circle Niki then joined Chris and they stepped into the circle,. The Officiants then performed the Ceremony. Handfasting Ceremony Photos Crabbs BarnDuring the Ceremony, tying the knot after the binding of both pairs of hands of Niki and Chris happened, the exchange of rings followed. With all duties performed Niki and Chris then jumped over the broomstick together and exited the circle. Pagan Wedding Crabbs Barn Photographer Leica SL photos Their Guests applauded and congratulated them as Niki and Chris greeted each of them in turn. Some nice images were captured of the Guests whilst this was happening. The Pentacle Drummers then entertained everybody with a mixture of  superb drumming! During the afternoon we took some requested family pictures as well as managing to squeeze a little time with Niki and Chris for their pictures around Crabbs Barn. The Barn was nicely decorated and after a little while it was time for the meal.  Speeches/Thanks then followed before the start of the evening entertainment. When the Band was set up Niki and Chris cut their Cake then took to the dance floor for their First Dance. Crabbs Barn Recommended Wedding Photographer A Sunset finished our coverage of Niki and Chris’ Handfasting Ceremony, sadly the moon pictures did not happen.  Thank you for asking us, Niki and Chris, it was a pleasure, we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Wedding Photos Reid Rooms – Charlotte and David

Charlotte and David chose the lovely Reid Rooms for their Wedding.  The sun was shining when we arrived at The Reid Rooms on the morning of the Wedding.  Charlotte and David were getting ready in the Farmhouse so after saying ‘hello’ to the girls, I stayed with the Bride whilst David went off to meet with the Groom. Charlotte and David wanted a relaxed Wedding and from the start of their Wedding until the end, that’s what they had! Preparations were going well for both of them and once the men were ready they had a few pictures taken in the Farmhouse as well as outside.

Essex Wedding Photographer Reid RoomsThey then went off to greet the Guests. Charlotte’s sister, Hollie, was assisting Charlotte splendidly, despite being eight months pregnant! Kelly Hollands was doing a marvellous job (as always) with her duties. Once Charlotte was in her Wedding Dress, after taking a few pictures, Charlotte went down the stairs.  Charlotte’s Dad, was waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs so after greeting her Charlotte went into the Lounge for some pictures with her family. After meeting with the Registrars and the Guests were seated for the Ceremony, Charlotte left the Farmhouse and made her way over to the Grannary for the wedding. Reid Rooms ceremony photosFollowing the Ceremony Charlotte and David socialised with their Guests in the Courtyard during the Drinks Reception for a little while.  During the afternoon we took a few requested family pictures, together with some fun pictures.  Making sure Charlotte and David had time with their Guests and a little time to go and take their together pictures. The Guests enjoyed throwing confetti over Charlotte and David making for some nice images just before the Wedding Breakfast.Wedding Photos Reid Rooms The Aussie Barbecue Company provided the meal and once this was finished it was time for the Speeches.  The cutting of the Wedding Cake followed and then everybody enjoyed the evening sunshine waiting for the evening celebrations to begin.  This gap allowed Charlotte and David to have a few evening pictures as well. Piana DJ provided the entertainment for the evening and a little while later Charlotte and David took to the dance floor for their First Dance. Reid Rooms sunset wedding photos A big ‘thank you’ to Charlotte and David for taking a  walk for the sunset!  Wow! It was worth it! This ended our day, a brilliant one at that!

  • Priory Hall Wedding Photography for Victoria and Sam

Priory Hall Wedding Photography for Victoria and Sam

It was lovely to be back for a Priory Hall Wedding Photography at this wonderful Wedding Venue in Hadleigh, Suffolk. This was for the Wedding of Victoria and Sam. Our day started at the home of Victoria’s Parents, where Victoria and her Bridesmaids were getting ready.  Arriving at the house all was relaxed although busy with all the preparations. After taking a few details and getting ready shots,  the Bridesmaids got dressed followed by Victoria who was  assisted by her sister and Mum. Rain was in the air so we didn’t venture outside so instead made use of the Conservatory and took some Bridal Portraits of Victoria, who looked amazing, in the Lounge.

Priory Hall Wedding PhotographySt Mary’s Church, Woolpit, was where Victoria and Sam were to be married so when it was time we left for the short journey to the Church. Meeting up with Sam at the Church we took a couple of pictures of him and his Groomsmen in Church as it was now drizzling.  The brollies made the first appearance of the day when the Bridesmaids arrived with the Ushers doing a wonderful job in keeping them dry! As Victoria arrived, the drizzle had stopped, so taking her Father’s arm she followed the path and into the Church. During the service we kept a eye on the weather outside, although we had Plan B lined up if the weather did it’s worst! After the service instead of going outside when they came down the aisle, Victoria and Sam stayed in the Church, ready for Plan B! Having earmarked our spot for the family groups we got on with the requested pictures. Afterwards Victoria, Sam and their Guests made a quick dash to the cars for the journey to  Priory Hall. Hadleigh.Suffolk Church Wedding Photographer

The skies were brightening as we drew nearer to Priory Hall but the rain was still falling, so Victoria and Sam had their Reception drinks and canapés inside. As the Guests were socialising we took a couple of pictures upstairs and as Victoria and Sam re-joined their Guests the rain stopped. Making sure Victoria and Sam had their share of the drinks and canapés and socialised we got on with some fun group pictures followed by the confetti.  Priory Hall Wedding PhotographerThis worked really well and a little while later it was time for the Wedding Breakfast, which was held in the Marquee. Victoria and Sam wanted  a couple of pictures in the maze and  it worked well  to take these in between their Starter and Main Meal. The Speeches provided some great reactions, caught of course! Once these were finished everybody made their way back into Priory Hall for the evening celebrations.Recommended Wedding Photographer Priory Hall A few evening pictures were taken later together with capturing images of the First Dance. A couple of night shots ended our coverage of Victoria and Sam’s Wedding Day. A wonderful day and a lovely couple!
