  • 30 years of Wedding Photography!!

Well it’s finally arrived, Jeannette & Martin’s 30th Wedding Anniversary, congratulations to them!  Guess who did their photography!

I can remember the terror and worry of my first professional Wedding, what shots to take, who to process the film! Well I guess it all went ok as Jeannette & Martin still talk to me and I am still a Photographer!

But what has changed in 30 years and almost 1700 weddings beside the demise of film! The photography is far more fluid and our aim is to ensure our couples enjoy their weddings and not just do a photoshoot! Sandra is now very much part of the team. When I started I had been on some training courses but was unqualified, uninsured but who had heard of lawyers in those days!! The quality from today’s digital cameras is fantastic but wedding photography is so much more that a good camera and a few poses. All those years of experience come into use on a regular basis and rather than still just doing what I did 30 years ago I regularly attend workshops and seminars to hone my skills and keep up with today’s trends.

…and one last thing, I still have nearly all the negatives and digital files!

  • Children Portraits

Rachel and Jon were married at The Fennes Estate in 2009, so it was lovely to meet them once again, and meet their son Issac for the first time.  On a really hot morning we took some lovely pictures of Issac and the three of them together, in the natural light of their garden.  Issac really enjoyed sitting on the grass, finding the grass and leaves very interesting indeed and providing us with some great pictures!Child Photo - London

  • Heather & Dan's Wedding Photography at Down Hall, Hatfield Heath

A beautifully warm sunny day heralded the start of our Wedding Photography for Heather and Dan.  Heather’s final preparations were at the stunning Down Hall, so we started there first of all, taking pictures of Heather, her Parents and the Bridesmaids before leaving for St. Andrew’s Church, Sandon.  On arrival at the Church, Dan and his Ushers were greeting the Guests and in between we took their pictures.  Heather arrived shortly after and the Wedding Ceremony began.  After the Church service and Heather and Dan had chatted to their Guests, we returned to Down Hall, where we did the majority of the family pictures and Bride and Groom portraits.  Following the Wedding Breakfast and coverage of the Speeches, the soft evening light provided us the opportunity to take a few more relaxed pictures in the grounds of Down Hall.St Andrew's Church, Sandon

  • Wedding Photography for Karen & Tom at Gaynes Park, Epping

Karen and Tom chose the lovely Gaynes Park, Epping, for their Wedding Ceremony and Reception.  After saying”hello’” to Karen and her Bridesmaids, who were getting ready in the Apple Loft Cottage, David left to go and meet Tom and the men at ‘The Merry Fiddlers”, before they arrived at Gaynes Park ,whilst  I remained with the girls, getting pictures of their final preparations.  Following the Ceremony which was held in The Orangery, Karen and Tom mingled with their Guests in the Walled Garden in the sunshine, whilst we captured some reportage images.  Bridal Party photographs and family group pictures were taken in the Walled Garden together with Confetti pictures during this time.  After the Wedding Breakfast in the Mill Barn and when it was not as warm, we took Karen and Tom for a short walk around Gaynes Park for their romantic pictures and were blessed with some evening sunshine giving Karen and Tom some lovely photographs.  Video was provided by Jag, www.videofilming.org.Wedding Photo - Gaynes Park

  • Wedding Photography for Vicki & Sean at Crabbs Barn

For the start of Vicki and Sean’s Wedding we met Vicki and her Bridesmaids in the beautiful Guild Room at The White Hart Hotel, Coggeshall, to take some pictures of them all prior us leaving for Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon.  Whilst the Bridesmaids were travelling in the VW Lovebus, we photographed the guys outside Crabbs Barn with ‘Del Boy Reliant Robin’.  After the Ceremony Vicki and Sean took a short ride in the Lovebus whilst their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception.  After a few classic family group photographs, we spent a short time with Vicki and Sean (and Nathan of www.bamfordfilms.com, who was excellent) creating some relaxed images of themselves.  Following the BBQ by JLS Catering, which was superb, the laughter and enjoyment continued with us capturing some wonderful images, ending with a sunset picture soon after the First Dance.

  • Wedding 'Thank You'

David and I were delighted to receive a ‘thank you’ from Sandra and Drew, whose Wedding we photographed recently at The Fennes, Bocking:-

“We just wanted to say a big Thank You for the beautiful photos you took of our wedding.  You both made everyone feel at ease and we are absolutely delighted with the results.  The only problem is you have made it very difficut for us to choose the best photos for the Storybook, as there are so many great shots.  Thanks again”.

  • Wedding Photography for Kelly & Daniel at Stock Brook Manor, Billericay

The Wedding of Kelly and Dan had many links to previous Weddings within their families and it was nice to meet a number of familiar faces again. Despite a heavy downpour as we arrived at Kelly’s family home, it turned out to be a hot and sunny day.  The Wedding Ceremony was held at English Martyrs Church, Danbury, where a few pictures were taken, then we moved on the Reception at Stock Brook Country Club, Billericay.  The back lawn provided the setting for the main family group shots, with some relaxed pictures of Kelly and Dan, by the path beside the Golf Course.  After the Wedding Breakfast, Kelly and Dan were lucky to get a fabulous sunset across the lake.

  • Wedding Photography for Lisa & Simon at The Stoke-by-Nayland Hotel, Leavenheath

Stoke-by-Nayland Hotel, Golf and Spa, was the choice of Lisa and Simon for their Wedding.  After taking the getting ready shots of Lisa and the arrival pictures of Simon, the Wedding Ceremony took place in the Gainsborough Room.  During the Ceremony a heavy shower occurred, and continued for a little while, which caused some alteration to the plan for photography afterwards.  Lisa and Simon therefore enjoyed mingling with their Guests indoors, in between family group shots taking place.  Surface water did not prevent us from going down to the Lake, and we must thank the staff of Stoke-by-Nayland for assisting us so well, making sure Lisa’s dress stayed clean and dry!  After the Wedding Breakfast early evening sun provided some beautiful relaxed pictures of Lisa and Simon, amongst the trees, finishing up with a beautiful sunset sky.Wedding Photo - Stoke by Nayland
