Louise and Daniel chose St Michael’s Church, Roxwell, for their Wedding Ceremony, followed by a Reception at The Ivy Hill Hotel, Margaretting. After the Wedding Ceremony, a few family group pictures were taken outside the Church as well as some fun pictures of Lousie and Daniel as they left the Church being showered with confetti! We made our way to The Ivy Hill Hotel where the Reception was being held. The Guests enjoyed a Drinks Reception in the warm sunshine whilst we took a few pictures for the happy couple of themselves and their Bridal Party. After the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches we had a few minutes to create some pictures in the warm evening light across the pond ahead of the First Dance.

Pre-Wedding Picture
We met Kelly and Dan on a pleasant evening at Danbury Lakes. The last time we saw Kelly was when she was a Bridesmaid at her sister’s Wedding in 2005, as the Wedding booking was made over the phone. A stroll around the Lakes produced some nice pictures for Kelly and Dan prior to their Wedding in the next few weeks.

BBC The One Show – A great piece of TV showing what we are not!

This episode of the One Show made me want to cry for the couples involved and then it made me angry on several counts!! The photography shown is simply dire, obviously we did not see all of it so a balanced judgement is difficult, we have to trust that the BBC were fair in what they showed and the couples all knew what they were booking.
Just because somebody calls themselves a ‘Photographer’ or a ‘Professional Photographer’ does not mean they are any good at what they do and not all clients understand what style of photography they really require. Do check that your photographer is qualified in ‘Wedding Photography’, as there is nothing to stop a qualified ‘Industrial’ or ‘ Medical’ photographer for instance, starting in weddings!
For many jobs these days you need to have qualifications before you start. Unfortunately ANYBODY can pick up a camera, call themselves a wedding photographer and potentially mess up somebody’s wedding . Weddings are a once only event for most people and need to be right despite all the pressure of the weather, time and 100 guests with a different agenda! !!
In the show the ‘photographer’ was not even dressed appropriately – I love my jeans but NOT at a wedding that is showing no respect
A little piece written in the 19th Centuary:-
“It’s better to have paid too much.
When you pay too much all you risk is loosing a little money.
When you pay too little you risk losing everything if what you bought is incapable of doing what you wanted”
Please make sure you know the difference between a £700 photographer and a £2000 photographer (and what you get for your money!) before you set your budget and wedding dreams. Make sure you understand the style that your photographer works in. There are some truly great photographers who work fully ‘Reportage’, ‘Photo-Journalistic’ or ‘Documentary’ style and do not do family groups, but for some it is an excuse for not arranging anything and them claiming it was ‘all natural’!
Although it guarantees nothing, we are proud to be Qualified Member of the two main bodies for Professional Photographers in The UK – The British Institute of Professional Photography & The Master Photographer Association, if your photographer is not at least a member of one of these it may be worth politely backing off!

Wedding Photography for Emma & Marc at Gaynes Park, Epping
The sun was shining as we arrived at Emma’s house for a few pictures of the final preparations before meeting Marc for his pictures at Gaynes Park, prior to Emma and Bridesmaids arrival in the VW Beetles. Emma was escorted by her Mum and Bridesmaids to the Orangery, where the Ceremony was being held. During the Drinks Reception the owner of Gaynes Park invited us,with the Bride and Groom, to her private Bluebell Wood for some exclusive pictures. Following our visit to the Wood we took Emma and Marc’s family pictures in the beautiful Walled Garden, where the Guests were enjoying canapes and drinks. We completed Emma and Marc’s afternoon pictures, including Emma’s fantastic Christian Louboutin shoes, whilst the Guests were being seated for the Wedding Breakfast, After the Wedding Breakfast we took a few evening pictures including the First Dance. Shortly after the First Dance, Marc took the microphone and sang a song to Emma which is where our coverage of Emma and Marc’s lovely Wedding finished.

London & Essex Photographer of the Year Awards
Last night was the Awards Night for our local photographer’s group covering covering the London & Essex region for the Master Photographers Association and The British Institute of Professional Photography. The judge was Ray Lowe FMPA FBIPP who is an internationally respected judge and one of the best qualified photographers in the UK.
Congratlutions to the overall winners Kevin Pengelly and Brian Baker who put in some great pictures and those of our other friends who also achieved Awards of Excellence.

Pre-Wedding Meetings/Pictures
We do enjoy meeting our clients prior to their Wedding Day to discuss their details and take a pre-wedding picture. We get to know them better and it makes their Wedding Day even more special to us. Recently we met Cathy and Matt at Creeksea Place, and had an enjoyable time walking around the Venue, chatting about ideas for shots as well as taking some. Sandra and Drew are getting married at The Fennes soon and we met up with them recently, although we kept pictures to the minimum as it was a bit chilly!

Wedding Photography for Katy & Rob at Gosfield Hall
The stunning Gosfield Hall was the setting for the Wedding of Katy and Rob on a beautifully sunny day. Our day started with David joining the men as they were getting ready and I stayed with the girls for their bridal preparations. Everyone was relaxed making for some lovely pictures. After the Ceremony in the Long Gallery, Katy and Rob had time to enjoy mingling with their Guests during the Drinks Reception in between some family group photographs. Following a short break we took some relaxed and fun pictures of the Bridal Party and a few pictures of Katy and Rob. After the Wedding Breakfast and coverage of the Speeches, we went with Katy and Rob for an evening stroll around the grounds for a few shots before photographing the First Dance to end our day.

Wedding Fair on Sunday
This Sunday , 17th April we will be exhibiting our wedding photography at the Wedding Fair at Prested Hall. Opening times from 11.30 to 4.opm. Admission is a £1 donation to the Essex Air Ambulance.

Wedding Photography for Stephanie and Simon at The Fennes
A beautiful spring day greeted us for the Wedding of Stephanie and Simon at The Fennes Estate, Bocking. Stephanie was bubbly with excitement from the moment we met her when she was getting ready until the end of the day. Family and friends from all over the world were present and enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful surroundings of Fennes. Stephanie and Simon left plenty of time, not only for us to do our creative shots, but for family groups, as well as socialising with their Guests.
