    Here in your Heart

In trying to keep our pictures fresh, we are always looking for alternative views, sometimes they have been seen before and occasionally we find something unique!

In preparing for David’s Fellowship panel, the advice was, if possible, not to enter any of the pictures in competitions or use the pictures on our website, as when they get copied by other Photographers they start to lose their impact!

As far as we are aware this location and framing has not been used by anyone else previously, although that will undoubtedly soon change – this is where you saw it first!

  • Wedding Photography for Cara & Ben – The Essex Barn at The White Hart, Great Yeldham

Cara was busy with her final preparations when we arrived at her home, which we captured before leaving to go to St Nicolas Church, Witham for the Church service. Guests were arriving but we were able to take squeeze in a few pictures of Ben with his Best Men and Ushers before Cara arrived.  Following the Ceremony and a few family group pictures in the Churchyard Cara and Ben were showered in confetti at the gate, before leaving for The White Hart at Great Yeldham. wedding-photographer-essex-st-nicolas church-witham Whilst all the Guests were arriving, Cara and Ben wanted to get their together pictures taken  in the grounds, before mingling with their Guests in the Drinks Reception.wedding-photographer-essex-the white-hart-great-yeldham Later after a discussion with Hayley, the Wedding Co-Ordinator, we decided the best time to do the ‘everybody’ shot was when the Guests moved between the Drinks Reception and the Wedding Breakfast.  After the Wedding Breakfast we captured the expressions of the Speeches before Guests exited the Barn to enjoy the evening sun.  This was an opportunity to complete the pictures of the day.wedding-photographer-essex-the white hart-great yeldham Our finishing pictures were of Cara and Ben dancing the night away.

  • Professional Equipment?

    Professional Equipment?

We have recently been in conversation with a photographer who said that they refused to go outside in the rain at a wedding at wedding because his equipment would get wet!!

If it’s raining we of course prefer not to get wet but it’s hazard of wedding photography that we live with! We also use Nikon Professional cameras and lenses which are weather sealed. Enough said?

  • Wedding Photography for Sally & Lee – Parklands, Quendon Hall

It was a beautiful day when we arrived at Parklands, Quendon Hall, for the Wedding of Sally and Lee.  The girls were getting ready and whilst I stayed with the girls, David went off to meet with the boys.  Having taken a few pictures of Lee, his Best Man and Ushers in the grounds of Parklands, the girls portraits were taken in the preparation rooms.  Sally and Lee chose to have an indoor Civil Ceremony and afterwards led their Guests outside for the Drinks Reception where they socialised for a little while before we got on with the requested family pictures and fun bridal party pictures.   We left the Guests to enjoy the sunshine whilst Sally and Lee joined us for a short stroll around Parklands.  With some nice pictures captured by the Lake and some walking shots it was time to go back. wedding-photographer-essex-parklands-quendon-hallWith some lovely evening light after the Wedding Breakfast, we took  Sally and Lee for a few more pictures which they wanted around Parklands, before the Evening Reception and their First Dance together, which were more than happy to do!

The sunset put on a good display for us of coloured sky and Sally and Lee were delighted to be photographed with and that is where our coverage of their Wedding Day ended. wedding-photographer-essex-parklands-quendon-hall

  • Wedding Photography for Dominique & Lea – Butley Priory, Woodbridge

Dominique and Lea chose the picturesque setting of Butley Priory as the venue for their Wedding.  When we entered the House, the first person we met happened to be Sarah, whose Wedding we photographed at The Fennes in 2011!  Hearing lots of excitement from upstairs we followed the trail!  Plenty of  space helped our job of taking the details and accessories shots, as well as capturing the events of getting ready. Once Lea had arrived with his Best Man, Michael, we took a few shots of them outside.  wedding-photographer-suffolk-butley-priory Once Dominque was ready we took the pictures of her in the room she was getting ready in before moving to the Bridal Suite and onto the landing for some family pictures. Before long it was time for Dominique to make her way down the wonderful staircase for the Ceremony.  Domique and Lea wanted an intimate Ceremony surrounded by their Family and a few of their closest friends.  After the Ceremony the Guests followed Dominique and Lee outside for a couple of confetti pictures, a few family pictures and a couple of fun Bridal Party pictures.   Everybody then enjoyed tthe Drinks Reception back in the House as it was a little chilly outdoors, this gave us the opportunity to take some informal shots while the guests relaxed. A little while later, we took Dominque and Lea for a few pictures around Butley Priory, both inside and out, with some lovely results!wedding-photographer-suffolk-butley-priory
The Speeches were before the Wedding Breakfast and we captured some great images of everybody enjoying them.  The sun’s first appearance of the day came in the early evening and grabbing the opportunity we took Dominique and Lea into the grounds around the back of Butley Priory.wedding-phoographer-essex-butley-priory Evening Guests arrived for the Evening celebrations which were held in the Marquee and where we eventually caught up with Emily and Chris, whose Wedding we photographed at Braxted Park in 2007. Later, following cake cutting and the First Dance, some pictures of their evening Guests, it was time for us to leave.  A lovely day!

  • Wedding Photography for Jo & Doug – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon

Jo and Doug chose the lovely Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon for their Wedding. Our first point of call when we arrived at Crabbs Barn was the Bridal suite where Jo was getting ready.  It was lovely to see Jo’s hairdresser, Sarah, (whose wedding we photographed in November 2011, at Prested Hall, Kelvedon) but as she was working the talk would be later on! Meanwhile, Doug and his Attendants had some pictures taken before their Guests arrived.  Having photographed Jo’s accessories and details we stepped outside for some pictures of Jo, her  Parents, Bridesmaid and Pageboys, as it was dry and bright although the clouds looked threatening.  The rain started on cue as we finished the pictures, thanks to Paul and Jack for being in the right place at the right time with the brollies!  As Jo was seeing the Registrars the rain turned to hailstones!!   Following the Civil Ceremony, the sun was out as Jo and Doug greeted their Guests during the Drinks Reception and we captured some nice informal pictures before taking the family group pictures.  We stole Jo and Doug away for a few pictures around Crabbs Barn before the Wedding Breakfast. wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn-kelvedon Coverage of Speeches followed before everybody exited the barn so it could be turned around for the eveining Reception.  With some nice evening light we took Jo and Doug for a couple of pictures at some different spots around Crabbs Barn ending in a sunset picture.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs-barn
wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn-kelvedon It was nice to see some familar faces at this Wedding and catch up during the evening.  Following some pictures of their Evening Guests and pictures of their First Dance our day ended.

  • Wedding Photography for Cara & Nick – Prested Hall, Feering

It was such a pleasure to be asked to photograph Cara and Nick’s Wedding as well as being invited as Guests.  Nick and Cara arranged their Wedding, within a very short time, whilst over here from Australia towards the end of last year! We arrived at Cara’s family home where Cara was having the final touches applied to her make-up whilst Cara’s Parents, Denise, her Sister and Nephews were getting ready. Cara was kept company by a few of her close friends who had flown in from various parts of the world.  After taking a few pictures of Cara in her dress it was time for us to leave to go to Our Lady Immaculate Church, Chelmsford. Meeting up with Nick, his family and friends there, we took a few photographs of them before Cara arrived. With the Church service over, Cara and Nick greeted their Guests outside for a few minutes before we took a few family photographs.  Unbeknown to the Guests, Cara and Nick asked us to go with them when they stopped at a pub for a celebratory private drink on their way to Prested Hall – they also wanted a couple of pictures by the river after they had had their moment together!wedding-photographer-essex-kelvedon After we arrived at Prested Hall we took a few small group pictures during the Drinks Reception and we even had time for a few pictures of the two of them in the grounds. The Speeches after the Wedding Breakfast gave some wonderful images. Later, there was time available for us to take Cara and Nick for a short walk for a few evening pictures before the evening Reception.wedding-photographer-essex-prested hall-feering The Wedding Cake was made by Nick’s sister, Hannah,  which Cara and Nick duly cut before they took to the floor for their First Dance. wedding-photographer-essex-prested hall-feering Afterwards, Guests joined Cara and Nick on the Dance floor and danced the night away.  A memorable day and one that we were extremely happy to be part of.

  • Wedding Photography for Claire & Luke – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon

Claire was getting ready for her Wedding at Old Wills Farm B&B, Feering, where Claire and members of her family were staying. After capturing a few images of the final preparations we took a few portraits of Claire and her party outside in the front garden where there was a backdrop of trees. As we had plenty of time, we were able to take some lovely pictures of everybody.  As the Camper Van arrived to pick up Claire, Dad and Bridesmaids, it was time for us to depart. Once at Crabbs Barn we took pictures of Luke, and his Ushers, and it wasn’t long before Claire arrived. Following the Civil Ceremony, Claire and Luke wanted a couple of pictures with the Camper Van which we did before they joined their Guests enjoying the Drinks Reception.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs-barnThe weather was dry, overcast and warm so we could take the the family group pictures at any spot around Crabbs Barn that we wanted. It was good to take Claire and Luke to some different places for their pictures.  The Speeches were before the Wedding Breakfast allowing everybody to relax during the meal. After the meal there was time for a short walk with Claire and Luke for a few evening pictures.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs-barn Once the evening Guests had arrived, we took an everybody picture and some confetti pictures which was followed by the cake cutting, First Dance and a Sunset picture.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn

  • We made the Bride cry!!

The first thing we both wanted to say was a massive thank you. The idea of people staring at me and then having pictures taken on top on that was something I dreaded! We wanted an easy going, relaxed and intimate ceremony and you helped us achieve that. Half the time it was like you weren’t there and then when we needed to have pictures take it was actually a welcome relief to have those moments together that actually seemed like it was just me and Lea!

So thank you. Obviously through Sarah and Emily you came recommended and we in turn would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone.

Can’t wait to see the final product!

    Thanks again

    Dom and Lea
