  • Surprise Engagement Pictures at Prested Hall Feering

It was nice to receive a call from Hardeep last summer asking to take some surprise Engagement pictures! Hardeep was planning to ‘pop the question’ to his girlfriend, one summer’s evening at Prested Hall. We were available and arrangements were made. Fingers were crossed on the August evening that Hardeep and Navina were not held up in the traffic coming to Prested Hall. All was ok. Hardeep and Navina had dinner served to them, whilst we kept out the way! The staff at Prested Hall had arranged tea lights to arranged in the shape of a heart under the Gazebo. You could not see them from the house. As it got dark these were lit. We just had to wait now!

    Surprise Engagement Pictures

Before long Hardeep and Navina came out of Prested Hall and walked towards the Gazebo! Using the bushes as a cover we waited until Hardeep popped the question and Navina said ‘yes’ before we came clean! Having captured the moment and the reactions we congratulated them and had a quick chat. We then took a few pictures of Hardeep and Narvina once everything was calmer! What a lovely idea this was and we were pleased we were there.

Essex Barn Wedding Photography for Vicky & Rob

Vicky and Rob’s summer Essex Barn Wedding was held at the popular Venue, Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon, last year.

It was a beautiful day for their Wedding from start to finish. We were there when Vicky arrived. Vicky arrived at Crabbs Barn with her daughter , Maddison, her Parents and Bridesmaids.

Vicky was partially prepared for her Wedding, the Hairdresser had her hair done at home. The Bridesmaids were semi prepared as well therefore there was not as many things to do. After meeting with Vicky, taking a few pictures, David went to the Barn to await the arrival of Rob. I stayed with the girls. As well as taking a few preparation pictures I kept Maddison, Vicky and Rob’s daughter, occupied and happy. The girls carried on with getting ready.

Rob and his Groomsmen had some pictures taken by the Barn entrance. Once these were completed they went off to resume their duties.Barn Wedding Photographer EssexVicky was soon ready and she looked lovely. After Dad had seen her for the first time in her Wedding dress we got on with taking some pictures. These went well, even though time was getting short. Time for the Outdoor Ceremony. Off everyone went to the Barn and from there out into the Garden. Vicky then walked to the Gazebo for the Ceremony. After the Ceremony Vicky and Rob together with Maddison led the way into the garden for the Drinks Reception.

    The Drinks Reception

Everyone enjoyed the Drinks Reception in the beautiful weather. Later we got on with the requested family pictures and then the more relaxed ones. Great fun was had by all!Barn Wedding Photographer Essex Leaving the Guests to socialise, Vicky and Rob and ourselves went for a short walk around the grounds. It was nice to get some more pictures of Vicky as earlier in the day the time just went. Vicky and Rob’s few pictures went very well, so we rejoined the Guests. Just before the Wedding  Breakfast we took the ‘everybody’ picture in front of the Barn.Essex Wedding Photographer After the meal and coverage of the Speeches everyone had time to mingle inside the Barn or outside in the warm evening sunshine. Making good use of the evening light, we took Vicky and Rob for a short walk up the lane. Wow! Beautiful pictures, well worth going. Essex Barn Wedding Photography

    The Evening

Vicky and Rob’s evening Guests were arriving on our return so they had time to talk with them. Once the Barn was turned round for their evening celebrations, everybody went inside. Vicky and Rob cut their Wedding cake and this was followed by their First Dance. Some nice dancing pictures too! Sunset  beckoned, wonderful!Essex Barn Wedding Photographer During the evening we took some informal pictures around before putting our cameras down and saying ‘goodbye’. What a fantastic day! Thank you Vicky and Rob, it was a pleasure being your Wedding Photographers. You are lovely couple and have a beautiful daughter (I loved being with her!)

Cressing Temple Barns Wedding Photography for Janine & Richard

Janine and Richard booked us for Cressing Temple Barns wedding photography.  It was a dry bright although windy day when we arrived at Cressing Temple. We met Richard with his Parents and made our way over to the house where the Ceremony was going to take place.  After taking a few pictures of Richard and then a couple of him with his Parents it was soon time for him to see the Registrars.

Cressing Temple Barn Wedding PhotographerJanine, driven to Cressing Temple by her Father, arrived a short time later. Janine and Richard’s daughter Grace had had a sleep in the car and was a bit surprised at what was happening when she woke up! We captured the moments and with the minimum fuss were able to take a few pictures of Janine, her Mother and Father and Grace. After seeing the Registrars, Janine took her Father’s arm and went into the room for the Ceremony.Cressing Temple Wedding Photographer The walled garden provided a beautiful backdrop to some pictures afterwards. A few requested pictures were taken followed by a few of Janine and a few of Janine and Richard together. Cressing Temple Barns Wedding PhotographyIn between these pictures we captured some informal pictures of their Wedding. It was soon time for Janine and Richard to be on their way to the Wedding Reception so it was time for us to say our ‘goodbyes’. Janine and Richard wanted to have a small relaxed Wedding celebration and that is just what it turned out to be. It was a pleasure to work with this lovely family for Cressing Temple Barns Wedding Photography.

  • Outdoor Engagement session for Amy & Tom

Outdoor Engagement session for Amy & Tom

Last year in the Autumn we met with Amy and Tom for an outdoor Engagement session at Danbury Lakes. This is one of  one of the nicest places to take an outdoor Engagement session particularly with the Autumn colours!  Meeting here and taking some pictures of Amy and Tom meant a great deal to them as it holds very special memories for them. We had a nice walk taking relaxed pictures as we went and talked about their forthcoming Wedding at Smeetham Hall Barn, Bulmer in the Spring this year.

Prested Hall Wedding Photography for Nicola and Robert

Prested Hall was the chosen Wedding Venue for Nicola and Rob’s Wedding. Arriving at Prested Hall we went upstairs to see Nicola. It was nice and relaxed up there with Nicola having the finishing touches applied to her hair and make-up. Robert was downstairs and once he was ready we took a few pictures of him, and a a couple of pictures with his Parents, Brother and Nephews. Robert then went off to join his Guests. Once Nicola was ready, her Father came into the room and saw her before we got on with a few pictures. Recommended Wedding Photographer Prested HallIt was soon time for the Wedding Ceremony.  This was going to take place in the Garden Room once the Guests were seated. The children led the way. Leaving the Guests for a few minutes we took Robert and Nicola for a few pictures around the grounds of Prested Hall. Not keeping them too long, we managed to take some nice pictures on and over the bridge.  This was  late Autumn and the light was going fast. Later, finishing off with a  picture as the sun was going down was an added bonus.Prested Hall Wedding Photography Returning we took a few more requested pictures before we took Nicola and Robert into the Orangery to take a picture of them with their Wedding Cake. It was then time for the Wedding Breakfast.  Once everyone had taken their seats we took table shots.  Our coverage of Nicola and Robert’s Wedding finished once the meal was served. Congratulations Nicola and Robert, it was a lovely Wedding and we wish you all the best.

  • Is your Essex Photographer still in business?

We have had three instances in the last few days which remind us how long we have been in business as an Essex photographer …. and it’s still here.

Firstly a call to replace a damaged picture of the Mayor from 1998 – as it turns out although we still have our 1998 negatives we did not start our Mayors portraits until 1999! We will be doing a scan, retouch the damage and reframe; Secondly, the Matron of Honour on a recent wedding said “you did my first wedding in 1988”; and thirdly we bumped into Helen and Stefan who are celebrating their Silver Wedding this month. It is really nice to see our past clients, if you see us do say ‘hello’.

Helen & Stefan – if you read this, do get in touch a for complimentary Silver Wedding portrait rather than a rather hasty casual snap!

  • Wedding Photography for Jo and Lee – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon

It was a glorious day when we arrived at Jo’s house for the final bridal preparations.  Lots of excitement coupled with lots of things going on but it was all was running smoothly.  A patch of shade in the garden allowed us to take the portraits pictures of Jo, her Parents and Bridesmaids before leaving to go to Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon.  With a few pictures of Lee and his Groomsmen taken, it wasn’t long before Jo arrived.  After the Civil Ceremony Jo and Lee went for a short car ride before returning to join their Guests who were enjoying the Drinks Reception.  With the blue sky, warm sunshine, Crabbs Barn looked wonderful and was enjoyed by everybody.  Making sure Jo and Lee had time to be with their Guests in between we took some family photographs, and fun bridal party shots. wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs-barn Just before the Wedding Breakfast we whisked Jo and Lee away from everybody for a few pictures of just the two of them.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn Following the Wedding Breakfast and coverage of the Speeches the happy couple and their guests relaxed in warm sunshine in the grounds.  With lots of laughter, some relaxed informal pictures were taken before Jo and Lee’s pictures in the evening light.  Good fun, nice images, taken prior to their First Dance. wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs-barn Shortly afterwards we left them to continue their celebrations.

  • Wedding Photography for Cara & Nick – Prested Hall, Feering

It was such a pleasure to be asked to photograph Cara and Nick’s Wedding as well as being invited as Guests.  Nick and Cara arranged their Wedding, within a very short time, whilst over here from Australia towards the end of last year! We arrived at Cara’s family home where Cara was having the final touches applied to her make-up whilst Cara’s Parents, Denise, her Sister and Nephews were getting ready. Cara was kept company by a few of her close friends who had flown in from various parts of the world.  After taking a few pictures of Cara in her dress it was time for us to leave to go to Our Lady Immaculate Church, Chelmsford. Meeting up with Nick, his family and friends there, we took a few photographs of them before Cara arrived. With the Church service over, Cara and Nick greeted their Guests outside for a few minutes before we took a few family photographs.  Unbeknown to the Guests, Cara and Nick asked us to go with them when they stopped at a pub for a celebratory private drink on their way to Prested Hall – they also wanted a couple of pictures by the river after they had had their moment together!wedding-photographer-essex-kelvedon After we arrived at Prested Hall we took a few small group pictures during the Drinks Reception and we even had time for a few pictures of the two of them in the grounds. The Speeches after the Wedding Breakfast gave some wonderful images. Later, there was time available for us to take Cara and Nick for a short walk for a few evening pictures before the evening Reception.wedding-photographer-essex-prested hall-feering The Wedding Cake was made by Nick’s sister, Hannah,  which Cara and Nick duly cut before they took to the floor for their First Dance. wedding-photographer-essex-prested hall-feering Afterwards, Guests joined Cara and Nick on the Dance floor and danced the night away.  A memorable day and one that we were extremely happy to be part of.

  • Wedding Photography for Sally & Steve – Braxted Park, Witham

Sally and Steve chose the beautiful Wedding Venue, Braxted Park, for their Wedding.  Sally was getting ready in the house, and when we arrived preparations were going well and with ample space for everybody to move around some nice images were captured.  The rain that had been falling during the morning fortunately had stopped for some pictures of Steve outside with his Best Man and Parents. Sally and Steve had an early Wedding Ceremony  as they wanted ” to make the most of a wonderful day”.  The Wedding Ceremony was held in the Orangery and afterwards, Sally and Steve and ourselves went out towards the front of the House, whilst the Guests went the other way to the steps for the ‘everybody’ picture. wedding-photographer-essex-braxted park After this picture, with help from the Bridesmaids in keeping Sally’s dress from getting wet, Sally and Steve were showered in confetti before the Drinks Reception.  Allowing time for socialising and for us taking some informal pictures, a few requested family photographs were taken, before making our way towards the Gazebo, where it was dry underfoot for some pictures. With the Bridal Party joining us as well we took a few fun pictures before they returned to the Pavilion leaving us with Sally and Steve.  A change of footwear for Sally, an extremely quick drive to the Lake, a few pictures before returning to their Guests.  The Wedding Breakfast was followed by the Speeches and towards the latter part of the Speeches  the late afternoon sun was peering through the trees so after the Speeches Sally and Steve were more than happy to take advantage of this. wedding-photographer-essex-braxted park Sally and Steve’s evening celebrations started with the arrival of their evening Guests, then the Bouquet toss before the First Dance.  Sally and Steve performed a fantastic rehearsed First Dance which delighted everybody. With the lights on around Braxted Park, Sally and Steve wanted a few evening pictures which we enjoyed doing before leaving them to continue with their party.    wedding-photographer-essex-braxted park
