Houchins Wedding Photography – Gemma & Scott

Houchins Wedding Photography, it was a pleasure to take Wedding pictures at this lovely Wedding Venue. We had been looking forward to this date for a while. Knowing Gemma for many years, it was lovely to be asked to do the photography Gemma and Scott’s Houchins Wedding.

As forecast the weather was not at all kind to us when we arrived on the morning of the Wedding. First of all we went off to find Gemma who was getting ready in the Bridal room with her family and Bridesmaids.

Preparations were going well, lots of chatting and laughter as well. We got on with taking pictures of Gemma’s Wedding Dress and accessories. Scott and his Groomsmen were getting ready in the Farmhouse. Once they were ready we were able to take them through to the Drawing Room for a few pictures.

Meanwhile the girls were progressing nicely upstairs. Gemma was being helped by her Mum and Bridesmaids. When Gemma was ready we took couple of pictures upstairs before going downstairs.

The rain stopped in time

After some pictures it was time to go across the way to the Wedding Ceremony. Wonderfully, the rain had stopped at just the right time! As the ground was very wet when Gemma came out of the Farmhouse, holding onto the back of her dress was no problem, stopping it from getting wet. Gemma looked lovely coming along the path with her Dad towards the Gazebo where Scott and the Guests were waiting.

The Wedding Ceremony commenced and aftewards the Guests lined the path so they could throw confetti.

Afterwards everyone enjoyed canapies and the drinks Reception. The requested family pictures were taken a little later on. During the afternoon a surprise for everyone. The arrival of Gemma’s horse with Adele’s, her twin sister’s horse, as well. Lovely pictures.

After various Guests had enjoyed watching, that left us with Gemma and Scott. Great pictures!

After this we took Gemma and Scott for a couple of pictures, we now had sun! We knew we would do more later.

The Wedding Breakfast

The Wedding Breakfast was held in the barn followed by the Speeches.

Afterwards everyone enjoyed socialising on the terrace or wandering around the Wedding Garden. While the evening entertainment was being organised a few more pictures of Gemma and Scott before capturing the bouquet toss.

A walk in the nearby field gave us a few more pictures of the happy couple before they took to the dance floor for their First Dance.

A splendid day! It was lovely to see some familar faces, Adele and Danny, Sam and Paul, Claire and Sam, and several more couples, who we know very well. Thank you Gemma and Scott for letting us be there on your special day. Congratulations!

Wedding Photography at Crondon Park for Dawn & Cam’s summer wedding

Wedding Preparations

Before we arrived at Crondon Park, our first port of call was at the home of Dawn and Cam. This was where Dawn was getting ready for her Wedding with her Bridesmaids and friends. Preparations were going very well. All the girls were relaxed, enjoying themselves and in the middle of very many preparations. Plenty of details and accessories to photograph so we got on with taking those pictures.

Once the girls had their hair and make up nearly finished we took a couple of pictures of them in their Dressing Gowns. The Bridesmaids then went upstairs to get their dresses on and Dawn followed a bit later.

It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and we had a nice garden to take the photographs in when everyone was ready. Dawn had some pictures taken of her as well as a few with her Bridesmaids. The car had arrived just after we had finished taking the pictures so just before we took the a couple of car photos too.

Crondon Park

Arriving at Crondon Park we met up with Cam who was with his Sons and got on with their pictures.

As the Guests started to arrive we took some informal pictures. Dawn and her Bridesmaids soon arrived at Crondon Park where they went into the Bridal Suite in the Cottage away from everyone. Dawn’s Father was waiting for her there and we had some time to take a few pictures with the two of them. Meanwhile the Guests were making their way through to the Ceremony Room to take their seats. When it was time Dawn and the Bridesmaids walked over to the Barn and through the Baronial Hall to the Ceremony Room. The Bridesmaids entered the room, followed by Dawn who took her Father’s arm as they came into the room.

After The Ceremony

After the Ceremony everyone went outside for the Reception Drinks. Dawn and Cam talked to their Guests for a little while. The requested family pictures were taken in the grounds as well as the ‘everybody’ shot and confetti pictures.

During the afternoon there was time for Dawn and Cam to socialise before we took them for a few pictures over by the lake. It was so sunny! Moving around we took a few more ‘together’ pictures before returning to their Guests.

The Speeches

The Wedding Breakfast was in the Baronial Hall and afterwards it was time for the Speeches.

Once these were completed and to allow the room to be set up for the evening celebrations everyone stepped outside. The Evening Guests joined them. Capturing informal pictures individual and of small groups took place for a little while. Before long the Room was ready and Guests followed Dawn and Cam inside. Dawn and Cam cut their Wedding Cake before taking to the dance floor for their First Dance.

The First Dance and Sunset

There was a sunset after a glorious day so that was an opportunity not to be missed. That worked well because after that Dawn and Cam disappeared for a very short time so that Dawn could change out of her Wedding Dress into another dress! Dawn and Cam are excellent dancers! As a surprise to the Wedding Guests Dawn and Cam then took to the dance floor again for a choreographed dance. It was superb!

St Albans Cathedral Wedding Photography for Sophie & Steven

St Albans Cathedral Wedding – A privilege and delight to photograph a Wedding at this beautiful and stunning Venue. We were very pleased to be asked to photograph Sophie and Steven’s Wedding at St. Albans Cathedral. Sophie and Steven were able to get married in St Albans Cathedral as they both went to University in the city. Our day started at St. Michael’s, Manor Hotel in St Albans, where Sophie, her family and Bridesmaids were getting ready. With lots going on there was much to photograph. Once the Bridesmaids were ready we took a few pictures in the garden. A breeze got up just as we were about to take some pictures of Sophie so we had to quickly find sheltered spot, not quite what we planned but we have to live with these things! Leaving them we then went to the Cathedral where Steven was greeting some of the Guests as we arrived so in between we took Steven and his Groomsmen for their pictures. It wasn’t long before the Bridesmaids arrived and waited with the Dean in the North Churchyard for the arrival of Sophie. With the Guests seated Sophie took her Father’s arm and made her entrance through the Pilgrim Door into the Cathedral and into the Lady Chapel. A beautiful service followed allowing us to capture some lovely moments. Sophie and Steven then led their Guests from the Lady Chapel to the West doors. Outside, they then had a few minutes greeting their Guests before we took an everybody picture, followed by some requested family Groups. Sophie and Steven were showered in rose petals before the guests left for the reception while the happy couple had a few pictures themselves in the Cathedral and around the grounds with David. Meanwhile the Guests and I made their way to pick up the Routemaster bus to the Wedding Reception at Shenley Cricket Club, Radlett. On arrival at Shenley Cricket Club the Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception and it wasn’t long before Sophie and Steven arrived. Grace, Sophie’s sister then entertained everybody with her wonderful singing, providing some emotional moments, captured of course! After catching up on a few small group shots it was soon time for the Wedding Breakfast held in the Marquee. Coverage of the Speeches followed before a break before the evening celebrations. This allowed us to take Sophie and Steven for a few moments for a some of them in the soft evening light.During the evening we took some informal pictures of their evening Guests as well as speaking to familiar faces that earlier in the day we didn’t have time to speak to. Sophie and Steven cut their Wedding Cake just before the First Dance and with a sunset completed we were happy with our work for the day, it was time for us to say goodbye. A wonderful day!

Pre-Wedding Pictures

It was good to meet up with Amy, Gareth and their Son, Reece, again one evening recently. After filling in details of their Wedding at Newland Hall, Chelmsford, soon, we took a few pictures of Amy and Gareth as well as a couple with Reece.

Wedding Photography for Nicole & Stephen at Gosfield Hall

On arrival at Gosfield Hall, after saying ‘hello’ and a few words with Nicole and the girls in the Rococco Suite, David went off to find the men as they were getting ready in another suite. I stayed with the girls as there was lots to capture before Nicole got dressed. Meanwhile David was taking some pictures of Stephen and his Groomsmen in the Library once they were ready as it was unfortunately raining. We took some lovely pictures of Nicole, her Bridesmaids and Flowergirl Daisy, before it was time for the Civil Ceremony in the Queen’s Gallery. After the Ceremony, Nicole and Stephen made their way downstairs to the Library for the Drinks Reception. Later some family group pictures were taken in the Grand Salon. Gosfield Hall provides wonderful opportunities inside for photographs and as we could not go outside we made full use of the rooms, staircases and corridors for pictures of Nicole and Stephen.
Following the Wedding Breakfast, it was time for the Speeches. Before the Evening Reception, Nicole and Stephen wanted a few photographs in the Bridal Suite, which we took. Once their Evening Guests arrived the cake cutting was followed by the First Dance and shortly afterwards the Guests were treated to a Firework Display.

Wedding Photography for Sally & Steve – Braxted Park, Witham

Sally and Steve chose the beautiful Wedding Venue, Braxted Park, for their Wedding. Sally was getting ready in the house, and when we arrived preparations were going well and with ample space for everybody to move around some nice images were captured. The rain that had been falling during the morning fortunately had stopped for some pictures of Steve outside with his Best Man and Parents. Sally and Steve had an early Wedding Ceremony as they wanted ” to make the most of a wonderful day”. The Wedding Ceremony was held in the Orangery and afterwards, Sally and Steve and ourselves went out towards the front of the House, whilst the Guests went the other way to the steps for the ‘everybody’ picture. After this picture, with help from the Bridesmaids in keeping Sally’s dress from getting wet, Sally and Steve were showered in confetti before the Drinks Reception. Allowing time for socialising and for us taking some informal pictures, a few requested family photographs were taken, before making our way towards the Gazebo, where it was dry underfoot for some pictures. With the Bridal Party joining us as well we took a few fun pictures before they returned to the Pavilion leaving us with Sally and Steve. A change of footwear for Sally, an extremely quick drive to the Lake, a few pictures before returning to their Guests. The Wedding Breakfast was followed by the Speeches and towards the latter part of the Speeches the late afternoon sun was peering through the trees so after the Speeches Sally and Steve were more than happy to take advantage of this. Sally and Steve’s evening celebrations started with the arrival of their evening Guests, then the Bouquet toss before the First Dance. Sally and Steve performed a fantastic rehearsed First Dance which delighted everybody. With the lights on around Braxted Park, Sally and Steve wanted a few evening pictures which we enjoyed doing before leaving them to continue with their party.

Pre-Wedding Pictures

The weather stayed dry for us one evening recently when we met Claire and Matt for some pre-wedding pictures. We had an enjoyable time taking some relaxed pictures of them and going over their Wedding plans. Claire and Matt are getting married shortly at Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon, Essex.

Pre-Wedding Picture for Kelly & Tommy

We met Kelly and Tommy for their Pre-Wedding pictures one evening at Kelly’s parents home. It was nice to see them again as when they booked us to carry out their Wedding Photography it was over two years ago! Although we have seen them fleetingly at Wedding Fayres, there was a lot to talk about and new Albums to show them. Kelly and Tommy are getting married soon at The Fennes Estate.

Prested Hall Wedding Fair

Wow! What a really good Wedding Fair it was at Prested Hall, Kelvedon, today! A massive thank you to the staff at Prested Hall and to everyone who attended despite the rain! We thoroughly enjoyed talking to prospective Bride and Grooms, who came and spent time talking to us, and to cap a very successful Wedding Fair we finished the day with bookings and appointments to see people.
