Essex Barn Wedding Photography – Sarah & Bob

Sarah and Bob had an Essex Barn wedding at Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon.

It was beautiful weather at a wonderful Venue. As we arrived we were joined by some of the Wedding Guests. Meeting and greeting happened so we captured these moments. Some Guests had arrived early and made the most of the setting enjoying the weather.

After Bob had spoken to some of the Guests we took him, together with his Ushers and Best Man for a few pictures.

It was soon time for them all to go into the Barn and take their seats for the Ceremony. Sarah travelled to the venue with her two sons and Bridesmaids. Matthew and Adam,Jayne and Sophie had done a good job in calming the nerves that Sarah felt! After a few pictures and seeing the Registrars, Sarah escorted by Matthew and Adam entered the Barn.

    It’s Now or Never!

Sarah’s nerves were on hold but as Sarah walked up the aisle they made an appearance! As Sarah arrived at the front the nervous tears went, these were replaced with laughter and tears of joy! Bob had arranged to change the music to ‘It’s now or never” as Sarah arrived. Everyone fell about laughing, this was very apt as Sarah and Bob have been together for 30 years and only now decided to get married! Wonderful moments, lovely pictures.Essex Barn Wedding Kelvedon Once the formalities were over Sarah and Bob went out of the  Barn and went off for a short ride in the car. Their Guests enjoyed Drinks and Canapies during this time. When Sarah and Bob returned they had a little time to socialise  before we got on with taking some requested pictures. A few fun/informal pictures followed. Wedding Photographer EssexLater following the confetti pictures it was time for the Wedding  Breakfast.

    Handfasting Ceremony Photos Crabbs Barn

A first for us at Crabbs Barn, photographing  Handfasting Ceremony Photos! Niki and Chris wanted their Pagan Handfasting Ceremony held outside, so our fingers were crossed for a fine day.  Niki was getting ready at the Bridal Suite at Crabbs Barn but only wanted a few pictures when she was ready. This was good for us because as we were there in plenty of time we were able to meet with the Officiants for this Pagan Ceremony and watch the preparations, as well as photograph the details. It was a beautiful day, Chris was on hand to answer or questions and it was lovely to see it all come together.  After taking a few pictures of Chris, looking very dapper,  meeting with the Pentacle Drummers who looked splendid in their colourful clothes, Guests were arriving, so leaving Chris to greet them we went to meet with Niki.  Niki looked amazing in her dress, with the detail on the dress so beautifully made. We took a few pictures of Niki just before the Pentacle Drummers joined us. All the Guests had arrived and stood around the circle for the arrival of Niki. Time for Niki to walk along the path to the front of Crabbs Barn. Hand fasting Ceremony Pagan Wedding Photographer EssexThe Pentacle Drummers led the way, the noise of their drums was wonderful.  Niki followed and after three laps of the circle Niki then joined Chris and they stepped into the circle,. The Officiants then performed the Ceremony. With all duties performed Niki and Chris then jumped over the broomstick together and exited the circle. Some nice images were captured of the Guests whilst this was happening. The Pentacle Drummers then entertained everybody with a mixture of  superb drumming! During the afternoon we took some requested family pictures as well as managing to squeeze a little time with Niki and Chris for their pictures around Crabbs Barn. The Barn was nicely decorated and after a little while it was time for the meal.  Speeches/Thanks then followed before the start of the evening entertainment. When the Band was set up Niki and Chris cut their Cake then took to the dance floor for their First Dance. Crabbs Barn Recommended Wedding Photographer A Sunset finished our coverage of Niki and Chris’ Handfasting Ceremony, sadly the moon pictures did not happen.  Thank you for asking us, Niki and Chris, it was a pleasure, we thoroughly enjoyed it!

  • Wedding Photography for Jo & Doug – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon

Jo and Doug chose the lovely Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon for their Wedding. Our first point of call when we arrived at Crabbs Barn was the Bridal suite where Jo was getting ready.  It was lovely to see Jo’s hairdresser, Sarah, (whose wedding we photographed in November 2011, at Prested Hall, Kelvedon) but as she was working the talk would be later on! Meanwhile, Doug and his Attendants had some pictures taken before their Guests arrived.  Having photographed Jo’s accessories and details we stepped outside for some pictures of Jo, her  Parents, Bridesmaid and Pageboys, as it was dry and bright although the clouds looked threatening.  The rain started on cue as we finished the pictures, thanks to Paul and Jack for being in the right place at the right time with the brollies!  As Jo was seeing the Registrars the rain turned to hailstones!!   Following the Civil Ceremony, the sun was out as Jo and Doug greeted their Guests during the Drinks Reception and we captured some nice informal pictures before taking the family group pictures.  We stole Jo and Doug away for a few pictures around Crabbs Barn before the Wedding Breakfast. wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn-kelvedon Coverage of Speeches followed before everybody exited the barn so it could be turned around for the eveining Reception.  With some nice evening light we took Jo and Doug for a couple of pictures at some different spots around Crabbs Barn ending in a sunset picture.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs-barn

  • Wedding Photography for Claire & Luke – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon

Claire was getting ready for her Wedding at Old Wills Farm B&B, Feering, where Claire and members of her family were staying. After capturing a few images of the final preparations we took a few portraits of Claire and her party outside in the front garden where there was a backdrop of trees. As we had plenty of time, we were able to take some lovely pictures of everybody.  As the Camper Van arrived to pick up Claire, Dad and Bridesmaids, it was time for us to depart. Once at Crabbs Barn we took pictures of Luke, and his Ushers, and it wasn’t long before Claire arrived. Following the Civil Ceremony, Claire and Luke wanted a couple of pictures with the Camper Van which we did before they joined their Guests enjoying the Drinks Reception.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs-barnThe weather was dry, overcast and warm so we could take the the family group pictures at any spot around Crabbs Barn that we wanted. • Wedding Photography for Diane & Ken – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon

It was a busy morning for Diane at her Parents’ house getting ready for her special day.  After taking a few pictures of preparations, and as we had a journey to get to Crabbs Barn, it was decided to catch up on some of the pictures later on.  The rain clouds were holding off as we arrived at Crabbs Barn allowing us to get some pictures of Ken and his Dad, who was Best Man. After the Civil Ceremony, we quickly took a few pictures of Diane and Ken and their son Oliver with the car, outside Crabbs Barn, which Oliver thoroughly enjoyed!wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn During the Drinks Reception, with the Guests enjoying the sunshine and the children playing with the garden games, we took a few family group pictures, together with those we did not have time to do earlier.  Making sure Diane and Ken had some social time we were able to steal them away for a few minutes for their portraits around Crabbs Barn before the Wedding Breakfast.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barnThe time of the sunset was during the wedding breakfast but thanks goes to Paul, the Manager at Crabbs Barn for adjusting the timings of the courses so Diane and Ken could have the pictures they wanted.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn

Laura and Ashley chose the popular and friendly Venue, Crabbs Barn, for their Wedding. Laura made her final preparations in the Bridal Suite with her Bridesmaids and the Pageboys. It was lively and happy with lots going on but everything getting done.  Meanwhile, Ashley, Best Man and Ushers were having a few pictures taken by David as the Guests arrived. • Wedding Photography for Rebecca & Colin – St. Peter's Church, Boxted & Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon

Our day started at Rebecca’s Parents’ house with some pictures of Rebecca, together with her Parents, Bridesmaids, and James the Pageboy, who is Rebecca and Colin’s son.  All was running smoothly and some lovely images were taken.  We then made our way to St. Peter’s Church, Boxted, to take a few pictures of Colin, Best Man and Ushers, before Rebecca arrived.  The weather forecast for the rest of the day was not looking very good at all so we all decided to take the majority of the group pictures outside the Church, after the service, before the rain clouds that were lurking in the distance arrived!  What a good call that was as by the time we reached Crabbs Barn, the heavens had opened!  Whilst the Guests had the Drinks Reception, we took Rebecca and Colin for a few Bride and Groom portraits in the Barn.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn Following the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches, and as the rain had stopped, Rebecca, Colin, David and I went for a short stroll around Crabbs Barn for a few extra pictures before the evening Reception.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn First Dance pictures and informal pictures of Rebecca and Colin’s evening Guests were taken before we left them to enjoy the remainder of their special day.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn
