It was a glorious day when we arrived at Jo’s house for the final bridal preparations. Lots of excitement coupled with lots of things going on but it was all was running smoothly. A patch of shade in the garden allowed us to take the portraits pictures of Jo, her Parents and Bridesmaids before leaving to go to Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon. With a few pictures of Lee and his Groomsmen taken, it wasn’t long before Jo arrived. After the Civil Ceremony Jo and Lee went for a short car ride before returning to join their Guests who were enjoying the Drinks Reception. With the blue sky, warm sunshine, Crabbs Barn looked wonderful and was enjoyed by everybody. Making sure Jo and Lee had time to be with their Guests in between we took some family photographs, and fun bridal party shots. Just before the Wedding Breakfast we whisked Jo and Lee away from everybody for a few pictures of just the two of them.
Following the Wedding Breakfast and coverage of the Speeches the happy couple and their guests relaxed in warm sunshine in the grounds. With lots of laughter, some relaxed informal pictures were taken before Jo and Lee’s pictures in the evening light. Good fun, nice images, taken prior to their First Dance.
Shortly afterwards we left them to continue their celebrations.

Wedding Photography for Anne & Paul – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon
The Crowne Plaza Resort, Five Lakes, was where Anne, and the girls were getting ready so it was there that we started our day. Knowing that time would be short, we still managed to capture the moments to tell the story. When we arrived at Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon, Paul, his Best Man and Ushers were ready for their pictures, before they were required to be out of sight! Following the Ceremony, Anne and Paul went for a short ride in the car whilst their Guests enjoyed the Drinks reception. On their return and just as we had taken a couple of pictures by the car, the heavens opened! This was forecast but it was slightly earlier than expected, and took a longer time to go! After taking some informal pictures we decided to take some of the smaller family group pictures in the Pavilion followed by taking Anne and Paul into the Barn and other sheltered areas around Crabbs Barn for a few pictures of them.
Although we work alot at Crabbs Barn and love it, we strive to give each couple different pictures and today was no exception, despite the weather! In between the courses of the Wedding Breakfast the sun came out and Anne and Paul wanted to have a couple of pictures taken in the grounds which we did. Once the Speeches had finished the larger family group pictures were taken before the evening Reception.
With a sunset picture and a rainbow picture later, Anne and Paul’s Wedding Day certainly had variety!

Crabbs Barn Wedding Photography – Nicola & Kris
Crabbs Barn Wedding Photography
It was a a lovely day when we arrived at The Rivenhall Hotel, Kelvedon, for the getting ready pictures of Nicola. Nicola, her Mum and the Bridesmaids were busily getting ready but they were all relaxed, organised and enjoying themselves. Getting caught up in the emotions of the day comes with our job which we love, but the moment when Nikki’s Dad and Brother saw her for the first time, will be remembered by us for a long time to come. Moment over, we got on with the pictures!
At Crabbs Barn Kris and the guys had a few pictures taken before Nicola arrived. With the Guests seated, Nicola made her entrance into the Barn for the Civil Ceremony. After the Ceremony, Nikki and Kris led their Guests outside for the Drinks Reception. A little while later we took a few family group pictures and fun bridal party pictures . Just before the Wedding Breakfast Nicola and Kris joined us for a short walk around Crabbs Barn.
After covering the Speeches and in the gap before the evening celebrations, Nikki and Kris wanted a few more pictures of the two of them in the lane and around.
Nikki and Kris’ First Dance was extra special as the song they danced to was sung superbly by Kris’s Dad. A wonderful day!

Wedding Photography for Alison & Mike – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon
We first met Alison when she was a stable girl to the horse owned by Sam, whose Wedding we photographed a number of years ago. Such a lovely surprise when Alison contacted us to come and see us and book us to photograph her Wedding! Whilst on our way to the wedding we had an unexpected call from Mike to say that Alison was running late in getting to Crabbs Barn due to Mike having organised a car to pick Alison and her Family up from the family home and take them to Crabbs Barn. Once Alison arrived she went to the bridal suite to put the finishing touches to the hair and make up . Meanwhile, the men were ready so we took a few pictures of them before they greeted the arrival of the first Guests of the day.
With Alison ready shortly afterwards we took a few pictures in the Bridal Suite and a few more outside in the warm sunshine. The Civil Ceremony was held in the Barn and after this Alison and Mike led their Guests outside to enjoy the Drinks Reception. Before the requested Group pictures we captured some nice images of the Guests enjoying the day. With the fun Bridal Party pictures and some Bride and Groom together pictures taken, it was time for the Receiving Line and Wedding Breakfast. Later on,with good evening light, some lovely images were taken of Alison and Mike around Crabbs Barn before the First Dance.
Catching up finally with Sam, Martin and their Family was brilliant, it has been a few years since we last saw them. After some evening Guest pictures and a sunset picture, it was time for us to leave.

Wedding Photography for Claire & Luke – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon
Claire was getting ready for her Wedding at Old Wills Farm B&B, Feering, where Claire and members of her family were staying. After capturing a few images of the final preparations we took a few portraits of Claire and her party outside in the front garden where there was a backdrop of trees. As we had plenty of time, we were able to take some lovely pictures of everybody. As the Camper Van arrived to pick up Claire, Dad and Bridesmaids, it was time for us to depart. Once at Crabbs Barn we took pictures of Luke, and his Ushers, and it wasn’t long before Claire arrived. Following the Civil Ceremony, Claire and Luke wanted a couple of pictures with the Camper Van which we did before they joined their Guests enjoying the Drinks Reception.
The weather was dry, overcast and warm so we could take the the family group pictures at any spot around Crabbs Barn that we wanted. It was good to take Claire and Luke to some different places for their pictures. The Speeches were before the Wedding Breakfast allowing everybody to relax during the meal. After the meal there was time for a short walk with Claire and Luke for a few evening pictures.
Once the evening Guests had arrived, we took an everybody picture and some confetti pictures which was followed by the cake cutting, First Dance and a Sunset picture.

Wedding Photography for Rebecca & Gavin – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon
On arrival at Five Lakes Hotel we were unsure of what the weather would produce for Rebecca and Gavin’s Wedding, although bright and breezy, showers were forecast, we would just have to wait and see! On arrival at Five Lakes where Rebecca was having her make-up done by the superb Emma Quin! With lots going on and with Rebecca having her make-up done by the superb Emma Quin, we captured some nice images before Rebecca and her Bridesmaids were ready for a few portraits. We then made our way to Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon, which was looking fantastic with blossom on the trees, wonderful colours around, and sunshine! The men were looking their best and after photographing them and a few Guest arrivals, Rebecca arrived for the Civil Ceremony.
Rebecca looked wondeful in her Wedding Dress which was supplied by Nell ‘Amore and after seeing the Registrars the Civil Ceremony began. After the Ceremony, Rebecca and Gavin led their Guests to the Drinks Reception outside and had some social time with them. We took some family group pictures and some fun bridal photographs during the afternoon. With the Guests enjoying themselves we took Rebecca and Gavin around the gardens for a short time for their together pictures.
With time going extremely quickly, as with all Weddings, it was time for the Speeches before the Wedding Breakfast. Afterwards, Rebecca and Gavin wanted a few pictures in the early evening low sun light, which we were happy to do! As the Evening Guests had arrived Rebecca tossed her bouquet before taking to the dance floor for the First Dance. To round off a splendid day a fantastic sunset!

Wedding Photography for Carly & Gary – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon
It was a pleasure to be asked to photograph Carly and Gary’s Wedding at Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon, Essex. Our day started at Carly’s parents’ home where there was lots going on but everything was going to plan. Once all preparations were complete, we had plenty of time to take pictures inside the house as well as in the garden, before we left to go to Crabbs Barn.
Arriving at Crabbs Barn, Gary, his Best Man and Usher were there and we had enough time to take some photographs of them before the Bridesmaids and Carly arrived. Following the Civil Ceremony Carly and Gary had a couple of pictures taken with the car before leaving for a short car ride. Once they returned and socialised with their Guests for a little while, we took a few requested family groups and then some relaxed pictures of the bridal party before we took Carly and Gary for a short stroll around the grounds for their pictures.
After the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches and whilst the guests enjoyed their coffee, Carly and Gary had their caricatures drawn by the brilliant Caricature Artist Steve Hearn who we have met at numerous events. With the Guests then having their caricatures drawn, we took the opportunity of taking Carly and Gary for another walk around Crabbs Barn as the light was so good.
Evening Guests arrived before the happy couple took to the dance floor for their First Dance. Later on, Carly, Gary and their Wedding Guests were entertained by a surprise firework display.
