    Priti Patel – Home Secretary

With today’s image aware lifestyles, Business Portraits are so important. This a very quick window light portrait of The Home Secretary Priti Patel taken in a break during a recent P.R. shoot. We are happy to create pictures in a wide range of locations and have portable studio lighting when required. Business Portraits are essential for company websites, social media etc. What message does a iphone selfie in poor lighting give as opposed to a professional Business Portrait?

  • Essex Barn Wedding – Sarah & Bob

Essex Barn Wedding Photography – Sarah & Bob

Sarah and Bob had an Essex Barn wedding at Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon.

It was beautiful weather at a wonderful Venue. As we arrived we were joined by some of the Wedding Guests. Meeting and greeting happened so we captured these moments. Some Guests had arrived early and made the most of the setting enjoying the weather.

After Bob had spoken to some of the Guests we took him, together with his Ushers and Best Man for a few pictures.

It was soon time for them all to go into the Barn and take their seats for the Ceremony. Sarah travelled to the venue with her two sons and Bridesmaids. Matthew and Adam,Jayne and Sophie had done a good job in calming the nerves that Sarah felt! After a few pictures and seeing the Registrars, Sarah escorted by Matthew and Adam entered the Barn.

    It’s Now or Never!

Sarah’s nerves were on hold but as Sarah walked up the aisle they made an appearance! As Sarah arrived at the front the nervous tears went, these were replaced with laughter and tears of joy! Bob had arranged to change the music to ‘It’s now or never” as Sarah arrived. Everyone fell about laughing, this was very apt as Sarah and Bob have been together for 30 years and only now decided to get married! Wonderful moments, lovely pictures.Essex Barn Wedding Kelvedon Once the formalities were over Sarah and Bob went out of the  Barn and went off for a short ride in the car. Their Guests enjoyed Drinks and Canapies during this time. When Sarah and Bob returned they had a little time to socialise  before we got on with taking some requested pictures. A few fun/informal pictures followed. Wedding Photographer EssexLater following the confetti pictures it was time for the Wedding  Breakfast.

    The Speeches

The Speeches took place after the meal, some great reactions.wedding speech reaction photos Evening Guests arrived to join in the  celebrations. Guild Of Photographers Awards

One of the highlights of judging for the Guild Of Photographers monthly competition, is to attend the annual Awards Ceremony. This year it was held at Crewe Hall Hotel where Sandra and I spent a delightful weekend. Part of the weekend involved judging Qualification Panels, the print competition/critique. I also gave a short talk on cropping, shading and removing distractions from photographs to around 50 photographers.  Of course the highlight of the weekend is the Black Tie Awards dinner and presentations. The Guild has some fantastic photographers from the whole spectrum of genres which is always very inspiring!

    Building Site Photography

One of our recent jobs was for Building Site Photography at a location in St Osyth, Colchester, Essex. The job is a conversion of an out building for family use. The brief was to show the Skilled Carpenters, Stonemasons and plasterers at work. Pictures to show the work progressing and a ‘team’ picture.

    Heart Brentwood Wedding Show

For the first time in many years we have decided not to exhibit at the Heart Brentwood Wedding Show. Should you be visiting and wish to see some of our work, do call at the Crabbs Barn stand as they are using a display made entirely from our images.

As recommended suppliers, we were  delighted to co-operate with Crabbs Barn on this project and hope they do very well.

Just before Christmas we finally retired one of our all time favourite sample books of ‘Lottie and Rich’ who were married on Burgh Island, Devon in 2007. Although we use mostly Graphistudio books these days we still do offer Queensberry to those who appreciate the difference. Although the pictures are timeless sadly even Queensberry albums show their age eventually with the large number of wedding exhibits we do! As the family have subsequently used us for children’s portraits a few times, we thought it would be a nice gift for the couple so we dropped the album into Lottie’s Mum. Here are some kind words she sent to us:-

“I have just been enjoying a wonderful trip down memory lane looking at the photo album (the shopping list had to take second place!). Lottie and Rich are going to be over the moon at such a fabulous surprise. I know they are going to adore the album. The photos are incredible and stunningly beautiful. Not that many are repeats of ones we chose which is a great bonus. In fact there are a few that I can hardly remember seeing. I don’t have the words to thank you, we were blessed when Sam at the Wedding Shop recommended you. The only recommendation from her I hasten to add. She said she didn’t like giving Brides suggestions but made an exception with you because your photos were the best she had ever seen. She wasn’t wrong either!!

Glad that you are having a little bit of a respite. Make sure you really relax over Christmas.

Our love to all the family,
    Karen

    Sports PR Portraits

It was great to meet Essex Boxer Liam Desmond to take some sports PR portraits for promotion and his managers website. Always happy to get involved in a range of different  work. This was a studio set we were hoping to do a few on location also. We did plan on doing some ‘urban’ style portraits but were limited by the weather, maybe next time!

Good Luck Liam with the next fight on 20 June!
