Lovely to be back earlier in the Spring at one of our favourite WeddingVenues, Layer Marney Tower. With it’s new Barn up and running, what a nice addition to this beautiful Venue.

Lots going on for the Wedding of Andrea and Terry on a beautiful Spring day this year. Starting at their home, then a visit to the local pub where the Layer Marney Bus was waiting to take Terry and some guests off to Layer Marney.

Layer Marney Tower looked glorious as Andrea and Terry’s Guests arrived. Once Andrea arrived the Wedding Ceremony started.

Afterwards everybody enjoyed the drinks and canapes in the gardens.

Spencer Wood of kept Guests entertained throughout afternoon. Nice seeing you again Spencer! We enjoyed taking great informal pictures whilst waiting for Andrea and Terry to return from their car ride.

Ending the afternoon, pictures of Andrea and Terry around the grounds for their togther pictures finishing with confetti on the stairs.

After the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches., Guests had the choice of staying outside or going inside the new Barn for the evening celebrations and later the First Dance.

Fireworks finished a wonderful Wedding Day for Andrea and Terry.

Layer Marney Tower Wedding Photography Including The Dog!

Katie and Colm chose the lovely Layer Marney Tower for their late Summer Wedding.

First of all we met them at the Marks Tey Hotel where they were both getting ready. Preparations for Katie and Colm were going very well and we just got on with capturing the moments.

Katie and Colm’s requirements for the day were to be relaxed and to make sure their dog, Daisy, played a special part in their big day! After all, she had come from Ireland to be with them! ‘Dog of Honour’. Daisy was involved from the very start!

Wedding Ceremony at Layer Marney Tower

Once Colm was ready, the men went off to Layer Marney with Daisy. Once Katie was ready we only took a couple of shots and departed for the ceremony.

It was touch windy but still a beautiful day. Layer Marney Tower looked a picture!

Before Colm and his Groomsmen became too involved with greeting the Guests, we took a few pictures of him, not forgetting some with Daisy.

Katie and Daisy led the way into the Corsellis Room for the Civil Ceremony. Whilst Katie and Colm were exchanging their vows, Daisy just laid on the floor and watched!

Following the Ceremony, Katie and Colm went for a ride in the Layer Marney Rolls Royce. Graham the Chauffeur dropped them by the gates and they walked up to the Tower to be greeted by their guests. The Drinks Reception was in full swing and we captured the requested family pictures, including Daisy of course! Katie and Colm had a short wedding portrait session around the grounds of Layer Marney including some nice Barn pictures.

The Wedding Breakfast

The Wedding Breakfast was held in the Long Gallery and after this there were some short speeches. A beautiful day made for a lovely sunset! Katie and Colm’s cake cutting was followed by their First Dance.

Loving our night ‘tower’ shots like we do, this was our last picture before we saw our ‘goodbyes’ to everyone. It was a pleasure, Katie and Colm, to take your Wedding pictures, thank you for asking us. A wonderful couple!

Layer Marney Tower Wedding Photography for Lucy and Joe was on a beautiful Spring Day. Our day started at Crowne Plaza Resort Five Lakes.Lucy and Joe were both getting ready. After saying ‘hello’ and a few words with Lucy and the girls, David went off to see Joe. I stayed with the Lucy and the girls and captured the action as it happened as well as taking pictures of the details and accessories. There was a lot going on but all was calm and collected. Joe had a couple of pictures taken before he and his Groomsmen left to go to St. Peters Church, Great Totham. Whilst this was happening Lucy and the girls were on the balcony in the room with their glasses of champagne having their picture taken before getting dressed. It was important for Lucy to see her Father’s reaction when she was dressed and the time as always was going very fast. With the help of her Mum and Bridesmaids this was achieved quickly and we had a little time for a few other pictures before we had to leave. St Peter’s Church, Great Totham was where the marriage was taking place and once we arrived we took some Guest arrival pictures, as well as a few of Joe and his Groomsmen.Waiting at the Church were the Flowergirl Estelle-Rose and Ben,the Pageboy, who were eager to see Lucy arrive at the Church gate. After getting a glimpse of her they rushed back to the Church Door to surprise her. The String Quartet played as Lucy then took her Father’s arm and went into the Church. Outside the Church after the service Lucy and Joe just wanted a few pictures taken as they wanted to get back to Layer Marney. The Guests climbed aboard the Layer Marney Bus as Lucy and Joe were driven to Layer Marney Tower. The Drinks Reception was held outside in front of the Tower so the Guests took a drink and when Lucy and Joe arrived at the bottom gate they made their way down there. Lucy and Joe wanted to walk upto the Tower with the Guests blowing bubbles over them and this is what happened.Some nice pictures. Lucy and Joe had time to spend with their Guests during the afternoon as well as us taking the requested family group pictures. During the afternoon Alan Nunn, the Magician and Arioso String Quartet provided the entertainment. Later whilst we took Lucy and Joe for a walk around the grounds of Layer Marney the children plus their Mums and Dads went into the Barn to see the lambs. If wanted they could give the lambs their milk which some did. When we returned the Guests made their way into the Long Gallery for the Wedding Breakfast. Lucy and Joe were announced in and they took their seats at the top table ready for the meal to be served. The Speeches followed and once this were finished we made a dash outside for the sunset. Phew! We just made it in time for some nice pictures. We finished with some evening pictures in front of the Tower before going inside. The Band was ready so Lucy and Joe took to the dance floor for their First Dance. After taking a few informal group pictures of the evening it was time for us to say our ‘goodbyes’. A long day but a most rewarding day and a nice Wedding. It was nice to see Julia of W. Flowers and to meet Michelle of Bumblebee bridal (little did we know at the time we would be seeing and working with each other on several Weddings this year!)

Layer Marney was the chosen Wedding Venue for Dana and Jim’s Wedding last year. Dana was getting ready at Crowne Plaza, Colchester and that’s where we started our day. Lots of preparations were going on in the rooms where they were getting ready but everybody was enjoying themselves and everything was going smoothly. We took some pictures of the girls as they were getting ready. Finishing touches applied Dana and the rest of the girls got ready, Dana being helped by her Mother. Time was on our side so we had time to take a few pictures of them all once they were ready. These completed we then travelled to Layer Marney Tower. Jim was there with his Groomsmen so before too many of the Guests arrived we took a few pictures of them in front of the Tower. As the Guests arrived on the Layer Marney Bus we had time to take a few arrival shots. Jim, his Groomsmen and the Guests made their way upto the Corsellis Room to take their seats for the Civil Ceremony. Meanwhile Dana arrived in the Layer Marney Rolls Royce and after a couple of pictures met with the Registrars. The Civil Ceremony followed and once this finished Dana and Jim were given Champagne and taken for a ride in the car. It was a lovely day so the Drinks Reception was held outside and Guests enjoyed this in the grounds of Layer Marney. Arriving at the gates we took a few pictures of Dana and Jim before they walked up the path to the Tower. Their Guests walked towards the steps to see and greet them as they reached the top. Dana and Jim spent a little while socialising with their Guests before we took the requested group pictures. These went well and gave the opportunity to Dana and Jim to mingle a bit more. During the afternoon we took a mixture of fun Bridal Party pictures and informal pictures. Molly and Evie, the younger Bridesmaids had fun around the grounds and we were on hand to capture the pictures. For Dana and Jim’s together pictures we went to the Lake and Barn. We ended up with a great selection of pictures, well done Dana and Jim! Just before the Wedding Breakfast Dana and Jim were covered with confetti and they then proceeded into the Long Gallery for the Wedding Breakfast. The Speeches were before the meal and there was a tear in everybody’s eyes when Molly’s Speech was read. Molly had written some beautiful words but didn’t want to read them out loud to a room full of people, so the Best Man did the honours. Well done Molly! The meal was served and afterwards there was a little time for everyone to relax outside as the Band set up for the evening celebrations. A sunset was on the cards and Dana and Jim wanted to do a few other pictures as well. Dana and Jim cut their Wedding Cake before their First Dance. After the Tower night shot we left Dana and Jim to continue dancing to the superb Band Three Mile Hill. Thank you Dana and Jim for the ‘extra’ you put into your pictures on your Wedding Day.

Layer Marney Wedding Photographer for Clare & Michael

It was a lovely day for the Wedding of Clare and Michael at Layer Marney Tower, Colchester. Clare was getting ready at her home so that is where we started our coverage. On our arrival we were met by Clare, her Mother and the Bridesmaids. Everybody was happy and relaxed with preparations well in hand. After taking a picture of the girls in their Dressing Gowns with the Champagne, it was time for them to get dressed. The Bridesmaids looked wonderful in their Poppy Red Bridesmaid dresses, with Clare looking amazing in her Wedding Dress. After taking a couple of pictures inside as it was dry and warm we all went outside for a few more. Leaving them we made our way to Layer Marney Tower, Layer de la Haye. Michael was there, looking very smart in his uniform, with his Best Man and Ushers. We had time to take some pictures before the Registrars needed Michael before the Ceremony. The Layer Marney Double Decker Bus arrived with some of the Guests so we took a few pictures as they arrived. The Guests made their way to the Corsellis Room and it wasn’t long before Clare arrived in the Layer Marney vintage Rolls Royce.

Clare took her Father’s arm and made her way into the Corsellis Room. After the Ceremony, Clare and Michael went for a ride in the car whilst their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception outside in the grounds of Layer Marney. Clare and Michael returned a little later and arrived at the bottom gate. They walked up the path towards the Tower as their Guests took pictures of them from the top of the steps. Following spending some time with their Guests during the Drinks Reception we got on with the requested family pictures. After a break we then took Clare and Michael for a quick walk around the Layer Marney grounds. This included going to the lake and the barn, ending up with some nice pictures. Clare and Michael were showered with confetti on the stairs before then going into the Long Gallery for the Wedding Breakfast. After the meal it was time for the Speeches. Some great reactions! Afterwards, whilst the Long Gallery was being arranged for the evening celebrations, Guests socialised outside and during this time we took some informal pictures. Clare and her Bridesmaids wanted a couple of pictures on the bus, which we took before it was time to go back into the Long Gallery for the dancing. After the happy couple cut their Wedding Cake and they took to the dance floor for their First Dance. A couple of night pictures ended our coverage of Clare and Michael’s Wedding Day. A great day and a joy to work with such a lovely couple.

Layer Marney Wedding Photography for Teri & Robert

It was a beautiful day for Layer Marney wedding photography for Teri and Robert. Teri was getting ready at her Parents’ house, where our coverage started. With just Teri and her Parents at home it was nice to be able to take our time a little bit more with all the pictures. Everything was going well and once Teri was in her Wedding Dress, we went downstairs and into the lounge for a few bridal portraits.Happy with what we had taken we then left them and went to Layer Marney. We met with Robert and his Groomsmen and walked around to the front of the tower for their pictures. The Bridesmaids and Flowergirls had arrived and were awaiting the arrival of Teri who was being driven by Graham in the Layer Marney car. Robert and his Groomsmen made their way upto the Corsellis Room. Teri arrived and we took a few pictures of her with the Bridesmaids and Flowergirls before the Ceremony. Afterwards Teri and Robert went for a short drive in the Layer Marney car whilst their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception. After a short while the Guests waited on the steps for Teri and Robert as they returned and walked up the path to the Tower. Making sure the happy couple have time to socialise and enjoy the Drinks Reception is always important and this is where we capture a few nice informal pictures of the guests. Taking the requested family pictures happened a little later before we took Teri and Robert for a short walk around Layer Marney, including the barn and lake.Teri & Robert wanted a relaxed wedding that they and their guests could enjoy together with a few ‘professional photographs’ – it is always a pleasure to deliver what is requested!
Teri and Robert chose to have their Speeches before the start of the Wedding Breakfast so they could fully relax and enjoy themselves. This worked well. Afterwards whilst waiting for the band to set up Guests took a stroll around the grounds or stayed and chatted in the Long Gallery. Later after cutting their Wedding Cake and having their First Dance, Teri and Robert were lucky enough to get a lovely sunset. We then left then to enjoy the rest of their evening with their Guests and took our leave. A wonderful day of Layer Marney wedding photography with a lovely couple!

Wedding Photographer Layer Marney

It was a hot day for Julia and David’s Wedding Day at Layer Marney Tower, Layer-de-la-Haye. A late afternoon summer Wedding was what Julia and David chose. We arrived before Julia and David at Layer Marney and as the Wedding Guests arrived we took a few informal pictures. Julia and David arrived together and had a few requested pictures taken before it was time for them to see the Registrars. Julia and David then made their way into the Corsellis Room with their Flowergirl and Pageboys and greeted the Guests as they made their way to their seats. The Ceremony followed then Julia and David went for a drive together as their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception outside in the grounds. Returning from their drive, Julia and David walked up towards the Tower and socialised with their Guests. Managing our time well we took various requested pictures as well as capturing a flavour of the day. Before the Wedding Breakfast we took Julia and David for a quick walk around the grounds for a few pictures of them together, including a couple of pictures in the Barn. Pictures with the cake followed before the children enjoyed throwing confetti over Julia and David on the stairs. With time upon us it was time for the Wedding Breakfast in the Long Gallery and time for us to say goodbye.

Wedding Photography for Tina & Nelse at Layer Marney Tower, Layer De La Haye

It was an early start for us on a beautiful day, as Tina and Nelse were getting ready for their Wedding at The Angel Inn, Stoke by Nayland. Whilst Tina, and Kiera,their Daughter, who was the Flowergirl, were getting dressed, Nelse, their Son, Joshua, who was the Pageboy, Best Men and Ushers had some pictures taken in the inside The Angel Inn as well as in the garden. The Layer Marney Weddding Bus arrived to take the Guests as well as Nelse to Layer Marney Tower for the Civil Ceremony. Tina left later in the Layer Marney Rolls Royce after a few pictures. Following the Ceremony in the Corsellis Room, Tina and Nelse went for a short drive whilst their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception. We took some candid Guests shots whilst waiting for the couple to return.Later a few requested family photographs were taken infront of the Tower and in the grounds. The Guests enjoyed relaxing and socialising in the warm sunshine watching the fun bridal party pictures going on. We were able to steal Tina and Dave away for a short time for some pictures of the two of them by the Lake and in the Barn before the Wedding Breakfast. Speeches were before the BBQ and this was followed by a live band playing in the Courtyard, where Guests danced and socialised. Tina and Nelse were happy to have a couple of pictures of them in the evening before their First Dance in the Long Gallery. A long relaxing enjoyable day was what Tina and Nelse had envisaged and it came true.
