At last the Fennes Wedding Celebration Part 2 for Hillary & James! Hillary and James were married in August 2020 at Fennes. This was the first Wedding we did when rules allowed due to Covid! At the Wedding it was just Hillary & James, David and I (we were the Witnesses as well as the Photographers, Sue & Kirsty from Fennes.
Two years later August 2022! Very different this time! Guests were invited and attended and Hillary’s family from Canada travelled over for the event.
AS in 2020, the weather was glorious! On the day Hillary got ready at Fennes with the help of her Bridesmaid Abi and James was assisted by Elliot, his Best Man. A few pictures taken before the start of the Ceremony.
It was lovely to see Hillary take her Father’s arm before stepping outside for the Ceremony.
A friend of theirs was a Celebrant and provided a lovely Ceremony. After this Hillary and James, followed by their Guests enjoyed the drinks reception in the grounds.
Hillary and James’ dog joined the other Guests for the celebration. During the afternoon some requested family group pictures were taken. Hillary and James had some nice pictures on the bridge and around the grounds.
The Wedding Breakfast happened soon after and was followed by the Speeches. An evening stroll took place before the cake cutting and First Dance for Hillary and James.
Great to see the Guests joining them afterwards for the dancing. A few pictures and time for us to depart.
Congratulations to Hillary and James! A beautiful Fennes Wedding Celebration, a wonderful couple! Congratulations as well to both of you on the news of your little one! Happy life in Canada!
Fennes Wedding! At last! Our first Wedding of 2021 and it was extra special!
Pandemic Delay
Caroline and Tom had tried to get married on three previous dates! One of the previous dates was called of at 24 hours notice! Finally, with everybody’s fingers and toes crossed the marriage happened! What a day to choose, a very warm late spring day in May!
Preparations
We arrived at Fennes in the morning and met up with Caroline and Tom. Caroline was getting ready upstairs in Fennes with her Bridesmaids. Unbelievably Caroline and Tom’s Wedding Day had taken another turn!
Caroline’s Bridesmaid and her family unfortunately were not able to attend the Wedding. This happens but Caroline’s Bridesmaid was also the Hairdresser! She was going to do all the hair requirements on the day! Fennes staff to the rescue! You can rely on them! Earlier in the morning they had found a substitute Hairdresser! Caroline just took it all in her stride, which was wonderful.
The Ceremony was taking place outside and it the Gazebo looked lovely. Once Tom, his Best Man and Ushers were ready, we took a few pictures of them.
Meeting Dad
When Caroline was ready, her Dad made his way upstairs to see his daughter. A lovely moment. A few Bridal pictures were taken.
The Ceremony at last!
Caroline then came downstairs for the Fennes Wedding. Exiting from the Gold Room Caroline then made her way over to the Gazebo. Married at last!
The pictures of Caroline, Tom and all their Guests after the completion of the formalities were fabulous. It was great to capture these moment pictures whilst Caroline and Tom were enjoying the time. A musician provided the entertainment for them all.
Family Pictures
A little later we got on with taking the requested family pictures. During the afternoon Caroline and Tom had plenty of time to themselves before we took them for a few minutes around the grounds of Fennes for their pictures.
Wedding Breakfast
The Wedding Breakfast was in the Pavilion. Speeches took place after the meal. Later we took a few pictures of Caroline and Tom in the House. First Dance was going to be outside on the new Patio Area. Once Caroline and Tom did their First Dance we finished up with an evening picture by the bridge.
The end of our coverage of a very enjoyable relaxed Wedding for a lovely couple. Congratulations Caroline and Tom! It was well worth the wait! Huge thanks to Fennes, especially Sue and Sophie.
This was our first Fennes Covid-19 Wedding. It was a different Wedding but nonetheless an amazing one! Hillary and James were due to get married in August this year in front of all their family and friends. Due to Covid-19 this could not happen. However they decided to get married on their chosen date in August anyway.
No Guests!
The big celebration will be next year when they can be with their family and friends. On this day they had no guests!
Hillary and James’ Wedding Day was wonderful! The weather was fabulous allowing them to have an outside Wedding Ceremony.
When David and I arrived at Fennes, Hillary and James were applying the finishing touches to the decoration of the new Gazebo. It looked beautiful! James then made sure ‘Zoom’ would work.
Once Hillary and James were happy with all the arrangements we took a few pictures of both of them before the start of the Ceremony.
The doors in the Gold Room opened, the music played and Hillary made her way down the steps and across the grass towards the Gazebo. The Ceremony was lovely. Hillary and James said their vows and exchanged Wedding rings.
Special Witnesses!
Hillary and James had asked David and I before their Wedding Day if we would be their Witnesses and we were very happy to be asked to carry out this for them. Wonderful!
Time for some pictures
Once the formalities were completed, Hillary and James enjoyed a celebratory drink! After a while we took Hillary and James for a stroll around the grounds.
We made sure they had a variety of pictures taken inside and out but wanted to keep a few ideas for pictures next year.
Hillary and James, you are a very lovely couple and the Wedding was wonderful! Thank you Hillary and James for asking us to photograph your Wedding and for being your Witnesses, we loved it! We are so looking forward to seeing you again next year!
A huge ‘thank you’ to Kirsty and Sue of Fennes, for all your help in making Hillary and James’ Fennes Covid-19 Wedding such a success. No problems or worries, just joy! We love working with you!
The next job was Wedding Photography at Fennes for Joan & Mark. The wonderful Fennes was the venue for this early Autumn Wedding.
Bride’s Prep
We arrived at Fennes and made our way up to the Bridal Room where Joan was getting ready. There was a lot going on! Joan and Mark’s daughters were there with their children. Joan is a very relaxed lady and was just enjoying the merriment and lively atmosphere. Joan had said to us at the pre-wedding meeting, what will be will be! Making sure we took a few pictures of Joan’s Wedding Dress and accessories, we captured lots of informal and fun pictures.
Groom’s Prep
David went off to find Mark, who was with his Best Man, Martin. It was a greyish day outside with rain in the air so David took a couple of pictures of them on the steps outside the House. Mark and Martin then greeted the Wedding Guests who were arriving and socialising in the House. Upstairs, Joan was in the final stages of getting dressed. Joan’s Grandsons were in their suits and looked very handsome! Once Joan was ready, it was nice to take pictures of them altogether.
Ceremony in the Pavilion
Meanwhile, the Guests made their way to the Pavilion for the Ceremony. Joan and Mark’s two dogs were going to be putting in a surprise appearance today! So, when all was quiet in the House, David went into the Red Room to take a couple of pictures of them before their task of the day! Everyone came downstairs, Mark was waiting for Joan at the bottom of the stairs and they saw the Registrars together. After this it was all ready to go, the Pageboys were the first entering the Pavilion full of smiles. Lauren, who was Bridesmaid followed, with the little ones, before Joan and Mark followed.
Special Ring Delivery
When the time came for the exchanging of rings the doors opened and the dogs made their entrance! Would this work! It sure did! The dogs were so excited, but they delivered the rings, had their pictures taken, they were brilliant!
Once the Ceremony was completed, Joan and Mark danced down the aisle before towards the front of Fennes. Unfortunately it was raining outside so everybody had to stay in. Plenty of space though so no problem! We used the Gold Room later for some requested family pictures, always keeping an eye on the weather. It did break, the children were first out, followed by others. We took this break to take some pictures of Joan and Mark on the Bridge but kept to the hard standing for a variety of pictures. Joan and Mark had lots of time to spend with their Guests during the rest of the afternoon.
Meal Time
Whilst the Guests later were taking their seats for the Wedding Breakfast, Joan and Mark provided us with fun and laughter in the corridor, which of course we captured.Joan and Mark chose to have the Speeches before the serving of the meal. Some great reactions.
The Three Waiters sing at Fennes
As a surprise to their Guests, Joan and Mark had arranged for the Singing Waiters to make an appearance during the Wedding Breakfast. This went down a treat! So much laughter and fun, making great pictures. After the Wedding Breakfast there was time to take a few more pictures of Joan and Mark around Fennes.
Later they cut their Wedding Cake and took to the dance floor for their First Dance. After capturing a flavour of the evening, it was time for us to depart. A lovely Wedding Day of Wedding Photography at Fennes! A great relaxed couple to work with, thank you Joan and Mark.
It was great to be back for Fennes Wedding Photography for Lynne and Gerry. The sun was shining when we arrived at Fennes on the morning of their Wedding.
Lynne and Gerry chose to have a Church Ceremony at the lovely St Mary’s Church, Bocking, Both Lynne and Gerry were getting ready at Fennes before the Ceremony so we were there to capture the goings on. All preparations were running smoothly. This allowed us time to take a few formal pictures as well of Gerry with his Groomsmen and some Bridal portraits of Lynne later on.
Gerry left for the Church immediately after we had taken his pictures and the Horse and Carriage arrived at the front of Fennes. Gerry had no idea this was the mode of transport for Lynne to get to the Church and for their return to Fennes later. Once we had taken Lynne’s pictures, off she went in the Horse and Carriage accompanied by her Mother and Father. We had time at the Church for a few informal pictures before Lynne arrived.
The Ceremony
Walking up the path, Lynne took her Father’s arm and after speaking with the Vicar went into the Church. Gerry’s three daughters delivered some nice readings during the service. Once the formalities of the Ceremony were over, Lynne and Gerry walked down the aisle and out of the Church.
It was a bright, dry day but slightly windy day for the pictures taken at the Church. After a few requested pictures the Guests lined the path towards the gate. Usually, the Guests throw confetti over the happy couple as they leave but today it was not so. The confetti had been left at Fennes, so instead they just cheered and clapped Lynne and Gerry as they exited the Church. A surprise to everyone was the Horse and Carriage!
Fennes Wedding Reception
It was a lovely relaxed afternoon spent at Fennes with the Drinks Reception being held outside and lots of socialising going on.
Occasionally in the afternoon this was interrupted by us taking a few other pictures including pictures of Lynee and Gerry on the bridge. Before the start of the Wedding Breakfast petals were thrown over Lynne and Gerry in the corridor before entering the Pavilion. Speeches were after the meal.
Sunset!
There was a nice sunset so very quickly we were able to take Lynne and Gerry for this. The evening celebrations then began.
Evening Guests arrived and joined in with the other Guests as Lynne and Gerry cut their Wedding cake. They then took to the dance floor for their First Dance. Dancing continued during the evening but it was soon time for us to say our goodbyes. A wonderful day of Fennes Wedding Photography. Congratulations to Lynne and Gerry.
We were delighted to be booked for Wedding Photography at Fennes for Maddy & Gordon.
We arrived at Fennes as Maddy was getting ready upstairs in the House and Gordon was getting ready in the Cottage. We went up to see Maddy first and took a few pictures of what was going on. David went off to see Gordon who was almost ready for his pictures with his sons and Best Man.
Not long after this Maddy was ready and it was time for us to take some pictures of her, together with her Maid of Honour, Mandy and the Flowergirls, Grace and Florence. They all then came downstairs. Maddy was greeted by Derek, who was going to give her away.
The Wedding Ceremony
The Guests were seated in the Pavilion for the Ceremony and once the Registrars had entered the Pavilion, Maddy, Derek and the Bridesmaids made their way down there, waiting to be ushered in, once everyone was settled.
After the Ceremony, Maddy and Gordon left the Pavilion and walked up to the front of the House. They then went into the Gold Room for a little time on their own. The Guests made their way up to the front of the house and had their reception drinks in the rooms.
The Rain
Unfortunately, it was heavy rain outside so we all had to stay inside. Not a problem. Fennes is a wonderful Venue as there are always rooms which are available if the weather is not on our side!
For a few of requested family group pictures we used the steps just outside the door to Fennes. That way everyone kept dry except David!
The Rain Stopped!
During a short break in the weather we were able to take an ‘everybody’ picture and we took Maddy and Gordon to the bridge. Being very wet we were restricted a bit on the pictures we could do but we managed.
There was still time to take a couple of pictures of Maddy and Gordon inside Fennes as well.
The Confetti
Confetti pictures in the Gold Room looked good. Maddy and Gordon had a couple of pictures with their Wedding Cake followed the Receiving Line. The Guests then went into the Pavilion for the Wedding Breakfast, followed by Maddy and Gordon. Once Maddy and Gordon were seated that was the end of our coverage of their Fennes Wedding. A lovely Wedding Day!
David and I are looking forward to attending Fennes Open Day tomorrow from 11am-3pm. This wonderful Wedding Venue is definitely worth coming to view and meet with some of Fennes Recommended Suppliers.

It was a early start for Vivien and Jonathan’s Fennes Wedding Photography . Their Wedding was a Church Wedding then they went to to Fennes for the Reception.
First of all we travelled to the the Hotel in Cheshunt, where they had stayed the night before the Wedding. We moved from one room to another as there were lots of Bridesmaids and plenty of things going on! Jonathan was getting ready there also so we captured a few pictures of him. We managed to take pictures of Vivien’s Dress and accessories as well as capturing moments of preparations and getting ready. Vivien soon ready and after a couple of quick pictures we departed for the church. Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Enfield was the Church Vivien and Jonathan chose.
The Flowergirls and Pageboys were at the Church so we took their pictures. Once Jonathan and his Groomsmen were altogether we took a few pictures of them. Guests were arriving so then Jonathan had time to welcome them. Vivien arrived with her Mum in the car and after a couple of pictures it was time for the Church Service.
Vivien was given away by her Mother and when they were ready they entered the Church. It was a lovely service and we captured some great pictures. At the end of the service the Guests went outside and waited for Vivien and Jonathan to come out. As they did, everyone showered them in confetti. Vivien and Jonathan then spent a little time with their Guests before leaving for Fennes. The journey went well for everyone, no hold-ups on the motorway!
At Fennes we took Vivien and Jonathan to do some of their pictures around the grounds whilst Guests were still arriving. This worked well as they had a little time to socialise when we had finished.
We still had a few requested family pictures to take but we took these during the rest of the afternoon, finishing with the everybody shot. Vivien and Jonathan greeted their Guests before entering the Pavillion for the Wedding Breakfast. As they went in confetti cannons went off all around them making for a lovely display. The Speeches followed the Wedding Breakfast. Vivien and Jonathan cut their Wedding Cake and then took to the dance floor for their First Dance. Guests then joined them on the dance floor.
We used the grass area outside the Marquee for a few pictures during the evening before Vivien and Jonathan took to the dance floor again for their Money Dance. After a beautiful day the rain appeared. Not to be deterred by the rain, Vivien and Jonathan wanted a picture on Fennes’ bridge with the lights on. So, with their umbrellas onto the Bridge they went.
A wonderful picture to end a really lovely day of Fennes Wedding Photography.
