  • Houchins Wedding Photography – Gemma & Scott

Houchins Wedding Photography, it was a pleasure to take Wedding pictures at this lovely Wedding Venue. We had been looking forward to this date for a while. Knowing Gemma for many years, it was lovely to be asked to do the photography Gemma and Scott’s Houchins Wedding.

As forecast the weather was not at all kind to us when we arrived on the morning of the Wedding. First of all we went off to find Gemma who was getting ready in the Bridal room with her family and Bridesmaids.

Preparations were going well, lots of chatting and laughter as well. We got on with taking pictures of Gemma’s Wedding Dress and accessories. Scott and his Groomsmen were getting ready in the Farmhouse. Once they were ready we were able to take them through to the Drawing Room for a few pictures.

Meanwhile the girls were progressing nicely upstairs. Gemma was being helped by her Mum and Bridesmaids. When Gemma was ready we took couple of pictures upstairs before going downstairs.

    The rain stopped in time

After some pictures it was time to go across the way to the Wedding Ceremony. Wonderfully, the rain had stopped at just the right time! As the ground was very wet when Gemma came out of the Farmhouse, holding onto the back of her dress was no problem, stopping it from getting wet. Gemma looked lovely coming along the path with her Dad towards the Gazebo where Scott and the Guests were waiting.

The Wedding Ceremony commenced and aftewards the Guests lined the path so they could throw confetti.

  • Wedding Photography for Sophia & Glen – St Mary Magdalene Church & Prested Hall

Wedding Photography for Sophia & Glen –

St Mary Magdalene Church & Prested Hall

It was a beautiful day for Sophia and Glen’s Wedding photography. Our day started arriving at Orsett Hall where Sophia and her Family were staying.

Sophia was getting ready with her Bridesmaids when we went to see her. Preparations were well under way and the girls were enjoying every minute. As they carried on with their preparations David and I got on with taking the pictures of Sophia’s Wedding Dress and her lovely range of accessories. Essex Wedding PhotographerOnce the pictures were taken, Sophia then got into her Wedding Dress, assisted by her Bridesmaids. Sophia looked lovely and before we got on with taking some pictures, her Father came into the room to see her. After taking pictures of all of them, as everyone was ready we had time to go out the front of Orsett Hall for some pictures with the cars. We then left to go to St Mary Magdalene Church at Great Burstead.

Arriving at the Church we went to find Glen and his Groomsmen. When they were all together we took a few pictures of them outside the Church before they greeted the Wedding Guests and went into the Church.Essex Church Wedding Photographer The Church looked lovely decorated inside and outside by Jo of Brown’s Blooms and Balloons. Sophia arrived a short time later and after we took a couple of pictures, she then took her Father’s arm and entered the Church. After the Church service the Wedding Guests came out first with their confetti and waited for Sophia and Glen. As they exited the Church they were covered in confetti, some nice pictures. Wedding Photographer EssexA few family group shots were taken in the grounds and of course a few with Sophia and Glen with their dog!

Sophia and Glen wanted a few pictures of the two of them in the Church and we happy to go back inside and take these before we all left the Church. Prested Hall was the setting for Sophia and Glen’s Wedding Reception.

    Prested Hall

Everyone enjoyed the Drinks Reception and during this time we took some informal pictures and a few other requested ones as well. We had a little time to go over to the Gazebo with Sophia and Glen for a few pictures of them before returning to the Guests and getting everyone together for a big ‘everybody’ picture.

The Wedding  Breakfast followed and afterwards it was time for the Speeches. Once these were finished Sophia and Glen had a few relaxed pictures taken with their Bridal Party and we took some relaxed evening pictures around Prested Hall of the two of them. Wedding Photographey Prested HallLater Sophia and Glen cut their Wedding Cake and took to the dance floor for their First Dance. Evening Guests had joined the party so we took some informal pictures of them during the evening. Later as a surprise for their Guests Sophia and Glen provided Sparklers. The weather, which had been lovely all day, decided not to play ball!  Fortunately it was only light rain and Sophia and Glen ended up with some lovely Sparklers pictures.Prested Hall Wedding Photographer After this event we said our ‘goodbyes’. A wonderful day and a lovely couple!

  • Wedding Photography for Nina & Steve – Kings Oak Hotel, High Beach, Epping

It was a very hot day when we arrived at the Premier Inn where Nina was getting ready for her Wedding.  Fortunately, we found a shady area outside in the grounds for a few pictures once Nina, her Bridesmaids and Family were ready.  Leaving them a short while later we met Steve at The Kings Oak Hotel, High Beach.  With the beautiful Epping Forest all around us we had plenty of nice areas to take some pictures of Steve and his Best Men before the arrival of the Guests.  Following the Civil Ceremony everybody enjoyed the Drinks Reception before we took a few requested family group pictures under the shade of the trees in the Forest. wedding-photographer-essex-kings-oak-hotel-high-beach Once the Guests returned to the Drinks Reception we kept Nina and Steve for a few portraits of them together before we returned and captured some informal pictures.wedding-photographer-essex-epping-forest After the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches by Steve, the Best Men and Nina, there was time to enjoy the evening sunshine around the Hotel.  Keeping a watchful eye on the evening sun as it was going down and trying to anticipate when we should let Nina and Steve know when the best time would be for their sunset pictures, was well worth it, as we achieved some lovely results. wedding-photographer-essex-epping-forest Some First Dance pictures and some informal pictures of Nina and Steve’s evening Guests ended our day.

  • Pre-Wedding Pictures

It was nice to see Carly and Brian again one evening recently, to talk about their forthcoming Wedding in a few months time at The Bull, Long Melford.  After having a chat about their final plans we took a short walk, it could have been longer but the weather was not too kind to us, and took a few pictures of them, as well as visiting the Church they are to be married at.wedding-photographer-suffolk

  • Wedding Photography for Alison & Nathan – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon

It was our first visit to Jepcracks Barn, Great Totham, which is where Alison and her family were getting ready and we were very impressed.  With the converted barn being so light, it made for some nice images.  Everything was running well and being happy with what we had captured we left to go to Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon.  On arrival, Guests who had arrived, were enjoying the sunshine in the grounds of Crabbs Barn. It was nice to see some familar faces again, seen at previous Weddings.  After taking a few pictures of Nathan and his Best Men, and with Nathan safely inside the Barn, Alison arrived with her Father and Bridesmaids.  Following the Civil Ceremony, everyone enjoyed the Drinks Reception, in between some requested family pictures. • Wedding Photography for Rebecca & Colin – St. Peter's Church, Boxted & Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon

Our day started at Rebecca’s Parents’ house with some pictures of Rebecca, together with her Parents, Bridesmaids, and James the Pageboy, who is Rebecca and Colin’s son.  All was running smoothly and some lovely images were taken.  We then made our way to St. Peter’s Church, Boxted, to take a few pictures of Colin, Best Man and Ushers, before Rebecca arrived.  The weather forecast for the rest of the day was not looking very good at all so we all decided to take the majority of the group pictures outside the Church, after the service, before the rain clouds that were lurking in the distance arrived!  What a good call that was as by the time we reached Crabbs Barn, the heavens had opened!  Whilst the Guests had the Drinks Reception, we took Rebecca and Colin for a few Bride and Groom portraits in the Barn.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn Following the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches, and as the rain had stopped, Rebecca, Colin, David and I went for a short stroll around Crabbs Barn for a few extra pictures before the evening Reception.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn First Dance pictures and informal pictures of Rebecca and Colin’s evening Guests were taken before we left them to enjoy the remainder of their special day.wedding-photographer-essex-crabbs barn

It was a beautiful day when we arrived at Fennes for Lauren and Greg’s Wedding, perfect for an outside Civil Ceremony.  Whilst the girls were getting ready and having some pictures taken, upstairs in the House, the boys were making their final preparations before a few pictures. Later, Lauren made her way through the Gold Room and out into the sunshine to be greeted by Greg and the Wedding Guests waiting at the Gazebo. essex-wedding-photographer-fennes After the Civil Ceremony, Lauren and Greg greeted and mingled with their Guests during the outside Drinks Reception and we took their family group photographs and some fun bridal party pictures.  Timings were perfect, allowing time for taking Lauren and Greg for a few minutes around Fennes for their pictures.wedding-photographer-essex-fennes Prior to the Wedding Breakfast, Lauren and Greg were showered in confetti in the Gold Room.  Speeches followed the Wedding Breakfast then everybody relaxed outside in the evening sunshine.  A wonderful sunset provided Lauren and Greg with some lovely images before the evening celebrations. essex-wedding-photographer-fennes Thanks to Lauren and Greg for asking us to join them at Wedding Breakfast as two guests were unable to attend.
