  • Wedding Photography for Ania and Patrick – St Katharine's Church, Great Bardfield and Anser Gallows Farm, Hempstead

We were privileged to be be asked to photograph Ania and Patrick’s Wedding as Patrick is another local Professional Photographer!  The heat was on in more than one sense of the word!  Our day started early at The Grain House, Baythorne End, where Ania, her Parents and Bridesmaids were getting ready.  It was nice to see  Michelle, again, doing a lovely job as always.   Being an extremely hot and humid day, everybody was grateful for the coolness of the wonderful Grain House.  This accomodation is great for everything to do with a Wedding, light, spacious, and with good opportunities for pictures of the details and preparations.wedding-photographer-essex-the grain house baythorne endAnia  looked beautiful in her Wedding Dress which she had bought in Poland. We took a few pictures of her together with her Parents and Sister  and the Bridesmaids.  We left to go to St. Katharine’s Church, Great Bardfield, for the Church service.  On arrival Patrick, his Best Man and Ushers were busy with their duties, but for a short time their duties were interrupted  by  the ‘must have’ pictures of the Lamborghini with the guys!wedding-photographer-essex-st katharine's church great bardfield Before long it was time for the men and Guests to disappear inside the Church as Ania was on her way.  After the service, as the Guests mingled we took a couple of pictures of the Bridal Party.  With the Guests lining the Church path, Ania and Patrick exited the Church showered in confetti before leaving for the Wedding Reception in the Lamborghini.  Anser Gallows Farm looked a picture in the glorious sunshine and as Ania and Patrick were first to arrive we swiftly took them for a few portraits while their Guests were arriving .  A few smaller smaller family group pictures were taken during the afternoon before the Wedding Breakfast held in the lovely Barn.  Hearing the latest reports about the weather, Ania and Patrick wanted a few more pictures of the two of them and chose to do these in between courses rather than risk not getting them, which we were more than happy to do. It wasn’t long after this and during the superb Speeches that the heavens opened, we were very lucky! Later Ania and Patrick had their First Dance together followed by the party celebrations. wedding-photographer-essex-anser gallows farm A final picture of Ania and Patrick under an umbrella in the rain completed our coverage of their special day.  Well done to Patrick, being on the other side of the camera is not easy, but he did brilliantly!

  • Wedding Photography for Cara & Ben – The Essex Barn at The White Hart, Great Yeldham

Cara was busy with her final preparations when we arrived at her home, which we captured before leaving to go to St Nicolas Church, Witham for the Church service. Guests were arriving but we were able to take squeeze in a few pictures of Ben with his Best Men and Ushers before Cara arrived.  Following the Ceremony and a few family group pictures in the Churchyard Cara and Ben were showered in confetti at the gate, before leaving for The White Hart at Great Yeldham. wedding-photographer-essex-st-nicolas church-witham Whilst all the Guests were arriving, Cara and Ben wanted to get their together pictures taken  in the grounds, before mingling with their Guests in the Drinks Reception.wedding-photographer-essex-the white-hart-great-yeldham Later after a discussion with Hayley, the Wedding Co-Ordinator, we decided the best time to do the ‘everybody’ shot was when the Guests moved between the Drinks Reception and the Wedding Breakfast.  After the Wedding Breakfast we captured the expressions of the Speeches before Guests exited the Barn to enjoy the evening sun.  This was an opportunity to complete the pictures of the day.wedding-photographer-essex-the white hart-great yeldham Our finishing pictures were of Cara and Ben dancing the night away.

  • Wedding Photography for Gemma & Steve – Parklands, Quendon Hall

Gemma and Steve were so looking forward to their Wedding at Parklands, Quendon Hall and so were we.  As with many, their Wedding had been so long in the planning  but with Gemma and Steve they had a few more considerations.  Arriving at Parklands we made our way upto the Bridal Changing rooms where Gemma, her Mum and Bridesmaids were having their make-up done.  Gemma was having her hair done as well and how lovely it looked!  With hair and make up finished Gemma moved to the red room, which gave us more space with the Flowergirls, Bridesmaids and Pageboy! In between all this, we managed to meet Steve downstairs in the House capturing a few pictures of him with his Best Man and Ushers before we then returned to take some pictures of Gemma with all her Attendants before it was time for her to see the Registrars.   With Guests seated, Gemma made her entrance into the Civil Ceremony with her Mum at her side. After the Ceremony, although chilly outside but dry, we took the family group photographs they wanted in front of the fountain. Gemma, Steve and ourselves left the Guests socialising and enjoying the drinks reception whilst we went around the lovely grounds of Parklands. wedding-photographer-essex-parklands-quendon-hallThe sun came out on cue as we photographed the happy couple at the lake end, but not wanting to keep Gemma and Steve away from their guests for too long we soon sent then back to the reception.wedding-photographer-essex-parklands-quendon-hall The Wedding Breakfast was held in the Pavilion and once their Guests were seated, the speeches took place.  Afterwards and before the evening celebrations started, as Gemma and Steve wanted some images capturing the inside of Parklands we spent a short time with them taking these pictures. wedding-photographer-essex-parklands-quendon-hall Evening Guests arrived shortly afterwards and witnessed the cake cutting before the evening went into full swing.  A memorable day with endless smiles, a special couple, nothing was too much trouble for Gemma and Steve, which considering Gemma is wheelchair bound, was a big effort, in and out of her chair all day!  Thank you!

  • Wedding Photography for Gemma & Richard – Fennes

Gemma and Richard chose the superb Fennes Estate for their Spring Wedding. With final bridal preparations taking place, Richard and his Groomsmen were arriving.  Being a dry and bright day, and once Richard was ready, we took a few pictures of him, his Best Man, Ushers and Parents outside. All was well with the Girls and after taking a few pictures of them it was time for the Civil Ceremony.wedding-photographer-essex-fennesWhilst Gemma and Richard were in the Wedding Ceremony, there was a short shower, but by the time they had greeted their Guests in the Drinks Reception we were able to go outside for the main pictures.  Gemma and Richard had chosen a colourful theme for their day which blended well with the sunshine and daffodils. A wonderful setting, lovely pictures! wedding-photographer-essex-the-fennes-estate Making sure Gemma and Richard had breaks in between their pictures to talk to their Guests, gave us the chance to capture the informal pictures.  The Wedding Breakfast was held in the Pavilion and was followed by the Speeches.  Later Gemma and Richard wanted a couple of pictures outside the Bridal Cottage and in the Gold Room .wedding-photographer-essex-fennes-estate After the cake cutting it was time for the First Dance and Gemma and Richard surprised their Guests with their rehearsed dance routine, which was great!  Our day ended a short time later.

  • Styles of Photography

Styles of Photography available in the wedding photography market:-

Standard – Lots of group pictures and straight forward often unflattering Bride & Groom pictures.

Classical – carefully arranged formal pictures making everyone look their best before the picture is taken. You and you guests may need patience.

Reportage – capture the action without interfering with the couples day (often now called ‘Documentary’ as Reportage sometimes has a poor reputation). When we see great examples of ‘Documentary’ wedding photography it is often because the couple have been coached before the day in what is expected!

Lifestyle – lots of Photoshop to mess up the colours and give the pictures a ‘modern’ look. Couples in natural (not always flattering) poses.

We like to think of our Wedding Photography as contemporary Story telling. We are happy to capture real action if it looks good but we are also happy to encourage ‘moments’ to happen! Family groups and Classical pictures are usually required but do not have to take the whole day and we work in a fairly informal way. By photographing our couples at some point during their Engagement they are generally more relaxed on the big day and understand how we would like them to stand to make them look their best. Why not contact us and see what a whole wedding looks like?
