  • Houchins Wedding Photography – Gemma & Scott

Houchins Wedding Photography, it was a pleasure to take Wedding pictures at this lovely Wedding Venue. We had been looking forward to this date for a while. Knowing Gemma for many years, it was lovely to be asked to do the photography Gemma and Scott’s Houchins Wedding.

As forecast the weather was not at all kind to us when we arrived on the morning of the Wedding. First of all we went off to find Gemma who was getting ready in the Bridal room with her family and Bridesmaids.

Preparations were going well, lots of chatting and laughter as well. We got on with taking pictures of Gemma’s Wedding Dress and accessories. Scott and his Groomsmen were getting ready in the Farmhouse. Once they were ready we were able to take them through to the Drawing Room for a few pictures.

    The rain stopped in time

After some pictures it was time to go across the way to the Wedding Ceremony. Wonderfully, the rain had stopped at just the right time! As the ground was very wet when Gemma came out of the Farmhouse, holding onto the back of her dress was no problem, stopping it from getting wet. Gemma looked lovely coming along the path with her Dad towards the Gazebo where Scott and the Guests were waiting.

The Wedding Ceremony commenced and aftewards the Guests lined the path so they could throw confetti.

  • Tuffon Hall Wedding Photography – Claire & Sam

Tuffon Hall Wedding Photography for Claire and Sam was amazing! Claire and Sam’s Wedding Day was on a glorious hot summer’s day.

Tuffon Hall was a new Wedding Venue for us so this added to the excitement of this special Wedding Day. We have known Claire since she was very young, so it was a great pleasure to see her get married, invited as Guests as well as photographing the event.

    Tuffon Hall Wedding

Arriving at Tuffon Hall, the Farmhouse was our first port of call. Following the sound of voices and laughter we found Claire with her Bridesmaids in the throws of preparations. These were going well.

Matt and his Groomsmen were getting ready at Tuffon Hall. Once they were ready they had some pictures taken.

As always time was evaporating but we still had time to take informal and formal pictures. After taking several pre wedding pictures of the Bridesmaids and Claire, it was time for Claire to go downstairs where her Dad was waiting. A magical moment, we loved it!

As it was a very hot day we were very aware that the Guests were sitting in the sun, so with a minumum of fuss, after a couple of family pictures we went outside. The Ceremony was held in the Gazebo in the Vineyard, a lovely.

Following the Wedding Ceremony, Claire and Sam had a few family and friends pictures taken. We were able to find a couple of spots in the shade for these without going too far. Claire and Sam’s together pictures in the afternoon were very few as it was so bright and hot. We knew we could return later on to do these so it was fine.

The Wedding Breakfast was held in the converted Barn.

Before the start of the meal the Speeches took place. The look on Claire’s face when her Dad produced his guitar was priceless!

After the meal everybody was able to go for a stroll or stay in the barn while the evening celebrations were set up. Whilst this was going on we returned to the vines for some pictures of Claire and Sam. The light was better and it was not as hot!

The brilliant Jonnybgoode Band was the musical entertainment for the evening. Great to see them again. The band was ready to start and Claire and Sam took to the floor for their First Dance. Following that, the dancing began. Time for us to relax and join in after we captured a flavour of the evening and the sunset.

  • Hedingham Castle Wedding Photography For Laura & Jonathan

It was a glorious day for Laura and Jon’s Hedingham Castle Wedding photography. We couldn’t believe how hot the day was going to be though!

An early start for us for Laura and Jon’s Wedding Day. Our day began at Laura and Jon’s home where the girls were getting ready. Preparations were going well and plans were going well. The girls were ready in next to no time allowing for travelling to Hedingham Castle for the midday Wedding Ceremony. After taking a few pictures we were on our way.

Hedingham Castle looked splendid! A beautiful setting for a summer Wedding.

    Hedingham Castle photo

Taking Guest arrival pictures on the way upto the Castle and making their way into the Castle is nice to capture, which is what we did. Jon, his Best Man and Ushers had a few pictures taken before they entered the Castle. It wasn’t long before Laura and the Bridesmaids arrived.

When it was time the girls made their way along the path to the castle. A lovely Wedding Ceremony followed. Wonderful opportunities for some lovely pictures.

Laura and Jon exited the castle and made their way down the steps to grounds. the sun was everywhere, unfortunately not a lot of shade anywhere. Withe everyone’s help, many thanks, we got on with the requested pictures and this didn’t take very long at all. It was just as well as the sun was at it’s strongest then. Once finished we all made our way to the bridge for the confetti.

Time to end the Hedingham Castle wedding photography section and off to the Reception at the Rivenhall Oaks Golf Club, Witham.

Laura and Jon spent a nice time socialising with their Guests their whilst we took some informal pictures of everyone. It was lovely to catch up with Jacqueline and her family, we have known them for many years and have photographed the children several times. We couldn’t believe the children were adults now! A ride in the golf buggy beckoned for Laura and Jon and we joined them of course to take a couple of pictures.

Speeches were before the Wedding Breakfast. Following the meal Guests enjoyed sitting inside or going outside and sitting at the tables and enjoyed the evening sunshine. Later the evening celebrations started. Laura and Jon’s cutting of their amazing Wedding cake was followed by their First Dance.

  • Wedding Photography at Layer Marney Tower for Sarah & Les

Wedding Photography at Layer Marney Tower for Sarah and Les took place on a lovely summer’s day last year.

Sarah and Les decided to hold their Wedding Ceremony at the lovely Layer Marney Tower. They wanted a short photography coverage just enough to capture the Ceremony and then an hour or so afterwards.

We met Les first at Layer Marney Tower before the Guests arrived. After capturing a couple of pictures of him we took a few informal pictures of the Guests. Sarah arrived shortly afterwards. The Ceremony took place in The Corsellis Room.

  • Parklands Wedding Photography for Laura & Glen

Parklands Wedding Venue was the setting for Laura and Glen’s Spring Wedding. It was a dry day, slightly cool with the outlook becoming better as the day went on.

Going off to find Laura was the first thing we did when we arrived at Parklands. Preparations were well underway . Once Glen was ready, a couple of pictures of him were taken, not forgetting some with his ‘best woman’, his sister, Cassie and Usher, Josh. Getting ready pictures had been taken of the girls , the next step ‘ready’ pictures. Moving to the red room for Laura’s pictures gave us more room for this to happen.

    Groom arrival at Parklands
    Dad first look at Parklands

The Ceremony took place in The Tabor Room which overlooks the gardens and deer park. After the Ceremony everyone went outside. We didn’t spend too long taking the pictures in the gardens, it was a bit cool. After taking the required pictures we spent our time capturing moments of the Guests socialising. A quick five minute session for pictures of Laura and Glen before the time of the Wedding Breakfast worked well.

After the meal and capturing pictures of the Speeches, Ruben, Laura and Glen’s son were having fun so we were took some nice pictures of the three of them.

We then had a lovely time with Laura and Glen around Parklands. The sun was out and Laura and Glen wanted to make good use of Parklands for their pictures, inside and outside. Fine by us!

Later after the cake cutting Laura and Glen had their First Dance and were then joined by their Guests on the dance floor.

To finish our day off the sunset was superb and not to be missed! Thank you Laura and Glen for a lovely day.

  • Smeetham Hall Barn Wedding Photography for Dawn & Nick

Such a lovely Smeetham Hall Barn wedding for Dawn and Nick in May this year. Our day started at Dawn and Nick’s home which was where Dawn was getting ready. All was going well with Dawn’s Father enjoying watching the many preparations going on. Time raced by, the two Bridesmaids, Mitzi and Elizabeth were soon ready, closely followed by Dawn. Dawn looked wonderful! Outside we went for a few pictures before we left for the Church. Molly, Dawn and Nick’s dog, Molly joined the girls.

    Bride with dog

St Andrew’s Church, Bulmer, was our destination and one of our favourite Churches and sunshine greeted us. Nick and his Groomsmen were there so we took a few pictures of them. Guest arrival pictures are always good here and today was no exception. Soon everybody was in the Church.

    The Bride Arrives

Dawn arrived to be greeted by Molly, who was very pleased to see her! Molly would Molly be the Ring Bearer today when it was time! Following Dawn and Nick’s vows, Molly was there waiting with the rings!

  • Wivenhoe House Wedding Photography for Maeann & Mike

A visit for Wivenhoe House Wedding Photography was the last Wedding we covered in September. This was just before before number restrictions were brought in. Maeann and Mike as well as David and I were so happy that the Wedding could go ahead with 30 being the number of Guests allowed.

It was a beautifully hot Autumnal day for Maeann and Mike’s Wedding. When we first arrived at Wivenhoe House, we spotted Mike’s pride and joy, his Harley Davidson motorbike! Looking spick and span for this wonderful day we took a few pictures of it. Maeann was getting ready upstairs in Wivenhoe House with her close family. After saying ‘hello’ I got on with taking a few various picures.

Meanwhile David went off to find Mike who was getting ready in another room in the Hotel. A few pictures of Mike’s preparations were taken before going outside for a few pictures. Meanwhile, Maeann was getting dressed being assisted by her sister. Once Maeann was ready, we took a few arranged pictures.

    traditional wedding photographs wivenhoe house

The Wedding Guests were waiting to take their places for the Wedding Ceremony. It was a glorious day for an outside Wedding and the setting was perfect. When the Guests were seated, Maeann took her Son’s arm and made her way out of Wivenhoe House into the lovely grounds. The Gazebo looked wonderful, enhanced by the beautiful flowers provided by Jo of Browns Blooms & Balloons.

    The Wedding Ceremony

After the Wedding Ceremony everyone enjoyed a relaxed afternoon in the grounds. There was plenty of space for people to social distance and room to take pictures everywhere. Informal pictures were great to take. Whilst the Guests were enjoying the afternoon we took Mike and Maeann for a short walk in Wivenhoe Park. It was lovely! Nice to have the lake as a backdrop.

    Wivenhoe House Wedding

Walking back and before we rejoined the Guests Maeann and Mike wanted some pictures on the bike! Great!

Returning to the Guests petals were provided and after showering Maeann and Mike with them, we used them in other pictures.

    Evening Time

Later on, it was time for the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches. Afterwards, Guests went outside, enyoyed the early evening sunshine. We stayed a while so we could get a sunset picture, Mike and Maeann with the sparklers and a few evening pictures around Wivenhoe House.

After completing these, we then said our ‘goodbyes’. Maeann and Mike, you are a lovely couple, thank you for asking us to be your Wivenhoe House Wedding Photographers. It was a fabulous day!
