The guys were first to arrive at Langtons so the first to be photographed. Not a lot of space to work in but fine for a couple of pictures.

  • Parklands Wedding Photography for Laura & Glen

Parklands Wedding Venue was the setting for Laura and Glen’s Spring Wedding. It was a dry day, slightly cool with the outlook becoming better as the day went on.

Going off to find Laura was the first thing we did when we arrived at Parklands. Preparations were well underway . Once Glen was ready, a couple of pictures of him were taken, not forgetting some with his ‘best woman’, his sister, Cassie and Usher, Josh. Getting ready pictures had been taken of the girls , the next step ‘ready’ pictures. Moving to the red room for Laura’s pictures gave us more room for this to happen.

The Ceremony took place in The Tabor Room which overlooks the gardens and deer park. After the Ceremony everyone went outside. We didn’t spend too long taking the pictures in the gardens, it was a bit cool. After taking the required pictures we spent our time capturing moments of the Guests socialising. A quick five minute session for pictures of Laura and Glen before the time of the Wedding Breakfast worked well.

After the meal and capturing pictures of the Speeches, Ruben, Laura and Glen’s son were having fun so we were took some nice pictures of the three of them.

We then had a lovely time with Laura and Glen around Parklands. The sun was out and Laura and Glen wanted to make good use of Parklands for their pictures, inside and outside. Fine by us!

Later after the cake cutting Laura and Glen had their First Dance and were then joined by their Guests on the dance floor.

To finish our day off the sunset was superb and not to be missed! Thank you Laura and Glen for a lovely day.

  • The Old Essex Barn

Over the years The Old Essex Barn (formerly Crabbs Barn) has been a very good place for us to work. Great to be back at this fabulous venue and see the numerous upgrades from the new owners.

    Old Essex Barn wedding venue

The Old Essex Barn is a good size for many weddings and events – not too big, not too small!

  • Smeetham Hall Barn Wedding Photography for Dawn & Nick

Such a lovely Smeetham Hall Barn wedding for Dawn and Nick in May this year. Our day started at Dawn and Nick’s home which was where Dawn was getting ready. All was going well with Dawn’s Father enjoying watching the many preparations going on. Time raced by, the two Bridesmaids, Mitzi and Elizabeth were soon ready, closely followed by Dawn. Dawn looked wonderful! Outside we went for a few pictures before we left for the Church. Molly, Dawn and Nick’s dog, Molly joined the girls.

St Andrew’s Church, Bulmer, was our destination and one of our favourite Churches and sunshine greeted us. Nick and his Groomsmen were there so we took a few pictures of them. Guest arrival pictures are always good here and today was no exception. Soon everybody was in the Church.

    The Bride Arrives

Dawn arrived to be greeted by Molly, who was very pleased to see her! Molly would Molly be the Ring Bearer today when it was time! Following Dawn and Nick’s vows, Molly was there waiting with the rings!

Sara and Paul were married earlier this year at St Vincent de Paul RC Church, Dagenham and their Reception followed at Crondon Park.

The weather unfortunately was not the best for the day, Following the Church service, off we went to Crondon Park.

Something different, a Chinese Tea party, which was enjoyed by everyone took place during the afternoon. After the Chinese Tea Party and the Wedding Breakfast, we caught up with a few group pictures and a few pictures of Paul and Sara.

Throughout the day lots of great informal pictures.

  • Fennes Wedding – Caroline & Tom

Fennes Wedding! At last! Our first Wedding of 2021 and it was extra special!

    Pandemic Delay

Caroline and Tom had tried to get married on three previous dates! One of the previous dates was called of at 24 hours notice! Finally, with everybody’s fingers and toes crossed the marriage happened! What a day to choose, a very warm late spring day in May!

    Preparations

We arrived at Fennes in the morning and met up with Caroline and Tom. Caroline was getting ready upstairs in Fennes with her Bridesmaids. Unbelievably Caroline and Tom’s Wedding Day had taken another turn!

Caroline’s Bridesmaid and her family unfortunately were not able to attend the Wedding. This happens but Caroline’s Bridesmaid was also the Hairdresser! She was going to do all the hair requirements on the day! Fennes staff to the rescue! You can rely on them! Earlier in the morning they had found a substitute Hairdresser! Caroline just took it all in her stride, which was wonderful.

The Ceremony was taking place outside and it the Gazebo looked lovely. Once Tom, his Best Man and Ushers were ready, we took a few pictures of them.

    Meeting Dad

When Caroline was ready, her Dad made his way upstairs to see his daughter. A lovely moment. A few Bridal pictures were taken.

    The Ceremony at last!

Caroline then came downstairs for the Fennes Wedding. Exiting from the Gold Room Caroline then made her way over to the Gazebo. Married at last!

The pictures of Caroline, Tom and all their Guests after the completion of the formalities were fabulous. It was great to capture these moment pictures whilst Caroline and Tom were enjoying the time. A musician provided the entertainment for them all.

    Family Pictures

A little later we got on with taking the requested family pictures. During the afternoon Caroline and Tom had plenty of time to themselves before we took them for a few minutes around the grounds of Fennes for their pictures.

    Wedding Breakfast

The Wedding Breakfast was in the Pavilion. Speeches took place after the meal. Later we took a few pictures of Caroline and Tom in the House. First Dance was going to be outside on the new Patio Area. Once Caroline and Tom did their First Dance we finished up with an evening picture by the bridge.

The end of our coverage of a very enjoyable relaxed Wedding for a lovely couple. Congratulations Caroline and Tom! It was well worth the wait! Huge thanks to Fennes, especially Sue and Sophie.

  • Wivenhoe House Wedding Photography for Maeann & Mike

A visit for Wivenhoe House Wedding Photography was the last Wedding we covered in September. This was just before before number restrictions were brought in. Maeann and Mike as well as David and I were so happy that the Wedding could go ahead with 30 being the number of Guests allowed.

It was a beautifully hot Autumnal day for Maeann and Mike’s Wedding. When we first arrived at Wivenhoe House, we spotted Mike’s pride and joy, his Harley Davidson motorbike! Looking spick and span for this wonderful day we took a few pictures of it. Maeann was getting ready upstairs in Wivenhoe House with her close family. After saying ‘hello’ I got on with taking a few various picures.

Meanwhile David went off to find Mike who was getting ready in another room in the Hotel. A few pictures of Mike’s preparations were taken before going outside for a few pictures. Meanwhile, Maeann was getting dressed being assisted by her sister. Once Maeann was ready, we took a few arranged pictures.

The Wedding Guests were waiting to take their places for the Wedding Ceremony. It was a glorious day for an outside Wedding and the setting was perfect. When the Guests were seated, Maeann took her Son’s arm and made her way out of Wivenhoe House into the lovely grounds. The Gazebo looked wonderful, enhanced by the beautiful flowers provided by Jo of Browns Blooms & Balloons.

    The Wedding Ceremony

After the Wedding Ceremony everyone enjoyed a relaxed afternoon in the grounds. There was plenty of space for people to social distance and room to take pictures everywhere. Informal pictures were great to take. Whilst the Guests were enjoying the afternoon we took Mike and Maeann for a short walk in Wivenhoe Park. It was lovely! Nice to have the lake as a backdrop.

Walking back and before we rejoined the Guests Maeann and Mike wanted some pictures on the bike! Great!

Returning to the Guests petals were provided and after showering Maeann and Mike with them, we used them in other pictures.

    Evening Time

Later on, it was time for the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches. Afterwards, Guests went outside, enyoyed the early evening sunshine. We stayed a while so we could get a sunset picture, Mike and Maeann with the sparklers and a few evening pictures around Wivenhoe House.

After completing these, we then said our ‘goodbyes’. Maeann and Mike, you are a lovely couple, thank you for asking us to be your Wivenhoe House Wedding Photographers. It was a fabulous day!

  • Fennes Covid-19 Wedding for Hillary & James

This was our first Fennes Covid-19 Wedding. It was a different Wedding but nonetheless an amazing one! Hillary and James were due to get married in August this year in front of all their family and friends. Due to Covid-19 this could not happen. However they decided to get married on their chosen date in August anyway.

    No Guests!

The big celebration will be next year when they can be with their family and friends. On this day they had no guests!

    Fennes Covid-19 Wedding

Hillary and James’ Wedding Day was wonderful! The weather was fabulous allowing them to have an outside Wedding Ceremony.

When David and I arrived at Fennes, Hillary and James were applying the finishing touches to the decoration of the new Gazebo. It looked beautiful! James then made sure ‘Zoom’ would work.

Once Hillary and James were happy with all the arrangements we took a few pictures of both of them before the start of the Ceremony.

The doors in the Gold Room opened, the music played and Hillary made her way down the steps and across the grass towards the Gazebo. The Ceremony was lovely. Hillary and James said their vows and exchanged Wedding rings.

    Special Witnesses!

Hillary and James had asked David and I before their Wedding Day if we would be their Witnesses and we were very happy to be asked to carry out this for them. Wonderful!

    Time for some pictures

Once the formalities were completed, Hillary and James enjoyed a celebratory drink! After a while we took Hillary and James for a stroll around the grounds.

We made sure they had a variety of pictures taken inside and out but wanted to keep a few ideas for pictures next year.

Hillary and James, you are a very lovely couple and the Wedding was wonderful! Thank you Hillary and James for asking us to photograph your Wedding and for being your Witnesses, we loved it! We are so looking forward to seeing you again next year!

A huge ‘thank you’ to Kirsty and Sue of Fennes, for all your help in making Hillary and James’ Fennes Covid-19 Wedding such a success. No problems or worries, just joy! We love working with you!

  • Engagement session with bike!

Maeann and Mike wanted their Engagement session with bike. Not just any bike but their shiny Harley-Davidson.

The wedding will be in a few weeks time at Wivenhoe House so it was great to catch up ahead of the big day. We met them at their home on Mersea Island to go over the wedding details and then went off for some pictures!

They have ended up with a range of different shots, with and without the bike. We enjoyed a laugh together which bodes well for the wedding!

  • Pre-Wedding Photography – Richard & Colin

It was great to see Richard and Colin again, this time for their Pre-Wedding photography and meeting.

We discussed their plans for their Wedding at Woodhall Manor and chatted for a while. Happy with all the arrangements we went for a short walk.

We so like these informal meetings prior to a Wedding, they are so relaxed. Great pictures!
