Photographers Atlantica Sensatori Resort Crete – Our first Destination Wedding Abroad!! Fantastic!  We have previously had to turn down several Weddings abroad due to us being already booked, so we delighted that we were able to do this one!  Danielle had seen us a couple of times at Wedding Venue Open Days, when she was going along the lines of having her Wedding in the UK.  Deciding to have her Wedding in Crete in Greece and after a few conversations with us, she booked!  We were delighted!  Danielle and Jon chose the superb Atlantica Caldera Palace Sensatori Resort in Crete for their Wedding. We arrived a couple of days before the Wedding to familiarise ourselves with the surroundings and met with Danielle and Jon to finalise their requirements.  The Wedding day was warm but overcast rather than the perfect sunny weather we were all expecting. I covered the Bride’s preparations, whilst David photographed Jon’s preparations and his side of the family on the opposite side of the Resort. David then returned so we could work together for the Bridal Portraits.Photographers Atlantica Sensatori Resort Crete

Once these were completed and Jon had made his way to the Ceremony, Danielle followed escorted by her Dad and Bridesmaids.  The Ceremony took place under a canopy at the on site Chapel.  After the Ceremony we took a few requested family pictures, before everybody left for the Reception drinks and canapes. It wasn’t long before Danielle and Jon wanted to do some of their pictures and being spoilt for choice as to where to go we picked a few and off we went.

Shortly we returned to the Reception for the cutting of the Wedding cake and captured some relaxed images of their Guests.  The sun came out and to make the most of it the Bridesmaids, Emily, Kayleigh, Hayley, Danielle, Jon and ourselves crossed over the road to Lyttos Beach.  What a fun time we had!  Photographers Atlantica Sensatori Resort Crete

On our return and after an impromptu  ‘everybody’ picture, it was time for the Wedding Breakfast. During the Wedding Breakfast and the Speeches as well as taking pictures David and I enjoyed being a part of their special day even providing unplanned children’s entertainment for Danielle and Jon’s daughter Ava and their nephew Caleb, blowing bubbles, sticker sticking….! Our fingers were crossed for a sunset and we were not disappointed.  A sunset shot seems very popular with most of our couples and Danielle and Jon were no exception.  Back to the beach again and what brilliant results! After a very few minutes the couple returned to their Guests for their First Dance and confetti canons as everybody joined them on the dance floor.  Our job was not finished yet as Sensatori Resort looked wonderful at night and to finish the picture coverage we suggested some pictures by the illuminated pools.

Then it was time to party, and we certainly did! Danielle and Jon, you are a lovely couple, thank you so very much for making us so welcome at your Wedding, being so easy and co-operative and above all wanting to do these pictures!  Thank you to their Guests as well, what a lovely family.  A fantastic Wedding we really enjoyed being Photographers Atlantica Sensatori Resort, Crete!

  • Styles of Photography

Styles of Photography available in the wedding photography market:-

Standard – Lots of group pictures and straight forward often unflattering Bride & Groom pictures.

Classical – carefully arranged formal pictures making everyone look their best before the picture is taken. You and you guests may need patience.

Reportage – capture the action without interfering with the couples day (often now called ‘Documentary’ as Reportage sometimes has a poor reputation). When we see great examples of ‘Documentary’ wedding photography it is often because the couple have been coached before the day in what is expected!

Lifestyle – lots of Photoshop to mess up the colours and give the pictures a ‘modern’ look. Couples in natural (not always flattering) poses.

We like to think of our Wedding Photography as contemporary Story telling. We are happy to capture real action if it looks good but we are also happy to encourage ‘moments’ to happen! Family groups and Classical pictures are usually required but do not have to take the whole day and we work in a fairly informal way. By photographing our couples at some point during their Engagement they are generally more relaxed on the big day and understand how we would like them to stand to make them look their best. Why not contact us and see what a whole wedding looks like?
