We first met Alison when she was a stable girl to the horse owned by Sam, whose Wedding we photographed a number of years ago. Such a lovely surprise when Alison contacted us to come and see us and book us to photograph her Wedding! Whilst on our way to the wedding we had an unexpected call from Mike to say that Alison was running late in getting to Crabbs Barn due to Mike having organised a car to pick Alison and her Family up from the family home and take them to Crabbs Barn. Once Alison arrived she went to the bridal suite to put the finishing touches to the hair and make up . Meanwhile, the men were ready so we took a few pictures of them before they greeted the arrival of the first Guests of the day. With Alison ready shortly afterwards we took a few pictures in the Bridal Suite and a few more outside in the warm sunshine. The Civil Ceremony was held in the Barn and after this Alison and Mike led their Guests outside to enjoy the Drinks Reception. Before the requested Group pictures we captured some nice images of the Guests enjoying the day. With the fun Bridal Party pictures and some Bride and Groom together pictures taken, it was time for the Receiving Line and Wedding Breakfast. Later on,with good evening light, some lovely images were taken of Alison and Mike around Crabbs Barn before the First Dance.
Catching up finally with Sam, Martin and their Family was brilliant, it has been a few years since we last saw them. After some evening Guest pictures and a sunset picture, it was time for us to leave.

Wedding Photography for Jo & Doug – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon
Jo and Doug chose the lovely Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon for their Wedding. Our first point of call when we arrived at Crabbs Barn was the Bridal suite where Jo was getting ready. It was lovely to see Jo’s hairdresser, Sarah, (whose wedding we photographed in November 2011, at Prested Hall, Kelvedon) but as she was working the talk would be later on! Meanwhile, Doug and his Attendants had some pictures taken before their Guests arrived. Having photographed Jo’s accessories and details we stepped outside for some pictures of Jo, her Parents, Bridesmaid and Pageboys, as it was dry and bright although the clouds looked threatening. The rain started on cue as we finished the pictures, thanks to Paul and Jack for being in the right place at the right time with the brollies! As Jo was seeing the Registrars the rain turned to hailstones!! Following the Civil Ceremony, the sun was out as Jo and Doug greeted their Guests during the Drinks Reception and we captured some nice informal pictures before taking the family group pictures. We stole Jo and Doug away for a few pictures around Crabbs Barn before the Wedding Breakfast.
Coverage of Speeches followed before everybody exited the barn so it could be turned around for the eveining Reception. With some nice evening light we took Jo and Doug for a couple of pictures at some different spots around Crabbs Barn ending in a sunset picture.
It was nice to see some familar faces at this Wedding and catch up during the evening. Following some pictures of their Evening Guests and pictures of their First Dance our day ended.

Wedding Photography for Claire & Luke – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon
Claire was getting ready for her Wedding at Old Wills Farm B&B, Feering, where Claire and members of her family were staying. After capturing a few images of the final preparations we took a few portraits of Claire and her party outside in the front garden where there was a backdrop of trees. As we had plenty of time, we were able to take some lovely pictures of everybody. As the Camper Van arrived to pick up Claire, Dad and Bridesmaids, it was time for us to depart. Once at Crabbs Barn we took pictures of Luke, and his Ushers, and it wasn’t long before Claire arrived. Following the Civil Ceremony, Claire and Luke wanted a couple of pictures with the Camper Van which we did before they joined their Guests enjoying the Drinks Reception.
The weather was dry, overcast and warm so we could take the the family group pictures at any spot around Crabbs Barn that we wanted. It was good to take Claire and Luke to some different places for their pictures. The Speeches were before the Wedding Breakfast allowing everybody to relax during the meal. After the meal there was time for a short walk with Claire and Luke for a few evening pictures.
Once the evening Guests had arrived, we took an everybody picture and some confetti pictures which was followed by the cake cutting, First Dance and a Sunset picture.

It was a dry but windy day when we arrived at Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon, for the Wedding of Sarah and Paul. After capturing some getting ready pictures we took a few inside pictures of the three of them together with Sarah’s parents. We took some pictures of Paul and his Best Man, just before the Guests were arriving for the Civil Ceremony. Following the Ceremony, Sarah and Paul enjoyed the Drinks Reception in the grounds of Crabbs Barn, whilst we went looking for a sheltered corner to take the requested Family pictures, Mission achieved, Sarah and Paul spent some more time with their Guests before a few pictures with the Bridal Party and pictures of them together, as well as taking pictures of them with their son, Stanley.
The Receiving Line preceded the Wedding Breakfast which was followed by the Speeches. Later, everybody enjoyed the evening sunshine, Sarah and Paul ended up with some lovely evening pictures, before the First Dance and a while later it was time for us to leave.

Wedding Photography for Rebecca & Gavin – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon
On arrival at Five Lakes Hotel we were unsure of what the weather would produce for Rebecca and Gavin’s Wedding, although bright and breezy, showers were forecast, we would just have to wait and see! On arrival at Five Lakes where Rebecca was having her make-up done by the superb Emma Quin! With lots going on and with Rebecca having her make-up done by the superb Emma Quin, we captured some nice images before Rebecca and her Bridesmaids were ready for a few portraits. We then made our way to Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon, which was looking fantastic with blossom on the trees, wonderful colours around, and sunshine! The men were looking their best and after photographing them and a few Guest arrivals, Rebecca arrived for the Civil Ceremony.
Rebecca looked wondeful in her Wedding Dress which was supplied by Nell ‘Amore and after seeing the Registrars the Civil Ceremony began. After the Ceremony, Rebecca and Gavin led their Guests to the Drinks Reception outside and had some social time with them. We took some family group pictures and some fun bridal photographs during the afternoon. With the Guests enjoying themselves we took Rebecca and Gavin around the gardens for a short time for their together pictures.
With time going extremely quickly, as with all Weddings, it was time for the Speeches before the Wedding Breakfast. Afterwards, Rebecca and Gavin wanted a few pictures in the early evening low sun light, which we were happy to do! As the Evening Guests had arrived Rebecca tossed her bouquet before taking to the dance floor for the First Dance. To round off a splendid day a fantastic sunset!

Wedding Photography for Carly & Gary – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon
It was a pleasure to be asked to photograph Carly and Gary’s Wedding at Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon, Essex. Our day started at Carly’s parents’ home where there was lots going on but everything was going to plan. Once all preparations were complete, we had plenty of time to take pictures inside the house as well as in the garden, before we left to go to Crabbs Barn.
Arriving at Crabbs Barn, Gary, his Best Man and Usher were there and we had enough time to take some photographs of them before the Bridesmaids and Carly arrived. Following the Civil Ceremony Carly and Gary had a couple of pictures taken with the car before leaving for a short car ride. Once they returned and socialised with their Guests for a little while, we took a few requested family groups and then some relaxed pictures of the bridal party before we took Carly and Gary for a short stroll around the grounds for their pictures.
After the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches and whilst the guests enjoyed their coffee, Carly and Gary had their caricatures drawn by the brilliant Caricature Artist Steve Hearn who we have met at numerous events. With the Guests then having their caricatures drawn, we took the opportunity of taking Carly and Gary for another walk around Crabbs Barn as the light was so good.
Evening Guests arrived before the happy couple took to the dance floor for their First Dance. Later on, Carly, Gary and their Wedding Guests were entertained by a surprise firework display.

Wedding Photography for Ellie & Danny – Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon
It was a dry if chilly day when we arrived at Ellie’s Parents’ home, where Ellie was getting ready for her Wedding. After taking a few pictures of Ellie getting ready, just on cue, the sun made an appearance and as we went outside to the garden to take a few photographs. It was soon time for us to leave to go to Crabbs Barn to see Danny and his Groomsmen and take a few pictures of them before Ellie arrived. Following the Civil Ceremony, the Guests followed Ellie and Danny outside for an ‘everybody’ photograph before enjoying the Drinks Reception in the warmth of the Garden Pavilion. A few family group pictures were taken later on before Ellie and Danny left their Guests socialising for a short time to have some pictures taken of them together around the grounds of Crabbs Barn.
After the confetti pictures it was time for the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches. Ellie and Danny wanted to have a few pictures afterwards around the gardens and luckily for them sunset pictures before the arrival of their evening Guests.
After the cake cutting and First Dance we left them all to continue with the evening celebrations. An enjoyable day, a lovely couple and thanks to Paul, Jack and JLS Catering for looking after us as always.
