Our entry comprised nine prints from David & two prints from Sandra.
Sandra was awarded overall second place in Classical weddings for BIPP members. A fantastic result considering the competitors included Kevin Pengelly FBIPP FMPA who is one of the best UK wedding photographers and Jacqui Mathews who is the current WPPI Grand Award winner! Well done Sandra!!
David achieved four Accolades of Excellence.
Last night was the Awards Night for our local photographer’s group covering covering the London & Essex region for the Master Photographers Association and The British Institute of Professional Photography. The judge was Ray Lowe FMPA FBIPP who is an internationally respected judge and one of the best qualified photographers in the UK.
Congratlutions to the overall winners Kevin Pengelly and Brian Baker who put in some great pictures and those of our other friends who also achieved Awards of Excellence.
Just heard great news from WPPI that I received a second Accolade of Excellence in the International Print Awards at the Las Vegas Convention 2011. I guess I/they must have missed it in the display. Picture is of Esther & Tim who were married at The Free Church, Frinton-on-Sea, Essex, picture is on Frinton Beach.
Well WPPI Vegas trip comes to an end today and I must confess I have met some great photographers from all over the world; Dennis Orchard and Peter Ellis from home have been great company; Jim Garner put on an excellent Plus Class; Yervant, Jennifer Maring, Ryan Schembri and the other judges provided great information during print judging; Rene and his beautiful wife and Diana from Estonia; a whole list photographers from the US, Warren McCormac, Richard Thel, Robert O’Neil, Justin Demutiis (great business card!), Misty Enright, Jason Barrett, Kristi Odom, Gigi; numerous Australians, Alfredo from Puerto Rico……….just so many nice people and I have undoubtedly missed a few!!
Now for the long trip home to Essex!
Another great honour to be awarded an Accolade of Excellence by WPPI for 2011. One of only six British Photographers to be awarded this year!
