    Here in your Heart

In trying to keep our pictures fresh, we are always looking for alternative views, sometimes they have been seen before and occasionally we find something unique!

In preparing for David’s Fellowship panel, the advice was, if possible, not to enter any of the pictures in competitions or use the pictures on our website, as when they get copied by other Photographers they start to lose their impact!

As far as we are aware this location and framing has not been used by anyone else previously, although that will undoubtedly soon change – this is where you saw it first!

    Professional Equipment?

We have recently been in conversation with a photographer who said that they refused to go outside in the rain at a wedding at wedding because his equipment would get wet!!

If it’s raining we of course prefer not to get wet but it’s hazard of wedding photography that we live with! We also use Nikon Professional cameras and lenses which are weather sealed. Enough said?

  • Fellowship of BIPP!

Membership of an organisation and qualifications sadly does not guarantee you to be a better photographer! What it does show is a willingness to learn and the ability to achieve a standard. This discipline will always carry forward and therefore improve the photographer’s regular work.

The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) was founded over 100 years ago and has four levels. The qualified levels are based on the submission of work.

    Unqualified

Licentiate (LBIPP) – the photographer is competent in that discipline.

Associate (ABIPP) – a developing sense of style, a halfway point if you prefer.

Fellowship (FBIPP) – the highest accolade, showing distinctive style and only awarded to less than 5% of professional photographers.

It was a great honour for David yesterday to be awarded Fellowship of The British Institute of Professional Photography, in the difficult discipline of wedding photography. To our knowledge there is no other working Wedding Fellow based  in Essex!

Thanks to Kevin Pengelly FBIPP for providing mentoring over the last year or so.

  • Wedding Photography The Barn Brasserie – Lianne & Neil

    Wedding Photography The Barn Brasserie

It was a gloriously hot afternoon when we arrived at The Barn Brasserie for the Wedding of Lianne and Neil.  Our coverage of Lianne and Neil’s Wedding started here, so it was all systems go from the moment we arrived taking pictures of the venue before the arrival of Neil and the Guests. We took a few pictures of Neil, his Brother, the Best Man and their parents.  We captured some lovely informal images of the Guests relaxing in the Courtyard before Lianne arrived.  After a couple of pictures of Lianne, it was time for the Civil Ceremony in the Barn.  Following the Ceremony, Lianne, Neil and their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception and Canapes outside in the Courtyard in the brilliant sunshine.  With some family pictures taken we took Lianne and Neil for a short walk around for a few Bride and Groom photographs before the confetti pictures.

wedding-photographer-essex-the-barn-brasserie-great-tey After the Wedding Breakfast, (the food was excellent!),  the Speeches took place before the cake cutting and First Dance.  Josh James provided the music entertainment for the Evening and was superb! Our last photograph of Lianne and Neil’s Wedding was a night shot in the entrance to the Courtyard.Wedding Photography The Barn Brasserie

  • A Photographer is for life, not just the Wedding!

    Hi

It was lovely to see you both on Sunday and you meet the whole of our family! Still strange to think it was nearly 4 years to the day since we last actually saw each other! Charlotte and Andy celebrated their 4th Anniversary on the 6th June.

Thank you for your wonderful comments about our wedding, we’re so proud it was such a memorable say for everyone involved. Though scary that its nine years ago now, time seems to have flown. Its quite a special thing to still see you both and catch as if our wedding was yesterday. When you think of a wedding photographer, you think they turn up on your special day, you collect the photos and that’s the end, not that you’d class them as friends still 9 years later. Keep up the fabulous memory making that you do….see you at the next one!

Enjoy the summer, don’t work too hard!

  • Wedding Photography for Vicki & Dan – Fennes

Vicki and Dan chose the popular Fennes Estate for their Wedding and had a fantastic day to remember!  Vicki and her Bridesmaids were getting ready upstairs at Fennes, whilst Dan and his Groomsmen were getting ready in one of the Lodges.  It was soon time for their Ceremony and Vicki looked lovely as she made her entrance into the Pavilion as did Dan in his Army uniform.wedding-photographer-essex-fennes estate Following the Ceremony, although cold outside, everybody went outside for a couple of pictures before going inside for a few requested Groups. Later, we took a few fun bridal party pictures outside, thank you to all of you, it was really cold! wedding-photographer-essex-the-fennes-estate Vicki and Dan wanted a couple of pictures on the bridge, which happened in double quick time! wedding-photographer-essex-fennesAfter confetti pictures in the Gold Room it was time for the Wedding Breakfast.  Guests listened to the Speeches before the meal, unbeknown to them there was an extra Speech later!  Vicki’s Speech was a surprise to everybody, especially Dan, and when Vicki (not a good singer!) started to sing, the Soul Singer, Dominic, appeared on the Dance Floor to rapturous applause!  Dancing to his songs was followed by cake cutting and the First Dance.   A brilliant day and will be remembered by us especially for Vicki jumping with joy throughout the day!

  • St Francis Hospice at House of Commons

It was a great honour to be asked to photograph The St Francis Hospice fund raising night at The Speaker’s Apartments in the House of Commons with our good friends Kevin & Sabrina Pengelly . Sandra and Sabrina were there as guests of Pam Court, the Hospice Chief Executive.  The patron was TV presenter Richard Madeley and the guest list included numerous MP’s for the champagne reception. The Apartments are absolutely stunning, however, we were requested to keep the paintings out of our photographs, which of course we have complied with as far as possible.
