  • Wedding Photography for Natalie & Matt at Gaynes Park, Epping

The rain had stopped as we made our way to Natalie’s Parents’ house for pictures of Natalie and her Bridesmaids as they were getting ready for the Wedding. After taking a few photographs of them we then made our way to All Saints Church, Epping Upland, for the service.   The sun made the first appearance of the day accompanied by a strong breeze which made photographs taken outside the Church at difficult, but we managed. On arrival at Gaynes Park, Natalie and Matt had time to relax and mingle with their Guests whilst we took some informal pictures.  Gaynes Park provides varied areas for photography and as the day passed we were able to capture some lovely images.  After the Wedding Breakfast we were able to take some pictures of Natalie and Matt in the open sided barn as the light was just right and waited for the moment to take their sunset picture.Wedding at Gaynes Park

  • Weddings, Engagement Pictures, Family/Baby Portraits, etc

Wow!  We are extremely busy at the moment and falling behind with our Blog entries, they will be done as soon as possible, we promise!

  • Wedding day time plan

I do hope that the Royal wedding (taking place at 11.0am) will start a new trend in our culture for slightly longer wedding celebrations. Some cultures have weddings over 2 or 3 days!

In this country we seem to often want the wedding as late as possible in the day, with the Wedding Breakfast served as soon as possible after the Ceremony, which leads to some Brides saying, “The Day went by in a flash” – the answer of course is to leave more time. Having laid out all that hard earned money for the day, why not spend a little more time to enjoy it.

The standard time between the Wedding  Ceremony and Wedding Breakfast in the UK seems to be 90 minutes, in which time there is a scrap to take the family pictures, create some beautiful pictures for the Bride and Groom and for the happy couple to relax and enjoy time with maybe 70-100 guests. Think about spending just one minute with each guest and you will see where the difficulties can start!!

This has been solved in some countries by the Bride & Groom having their Portraits created before the Ceremony so they are free to enjoy the time afterwards – OK so it will never happen here but you see where I am going! Leaving just a minute per guest and another 60 minutes for photography will ensure the wedding day experience will be great and not rushed.

This is just a thought inspired by Kate & William’s wedding time. We hope they have a great day.

  • Wedding Testimonial

It was lovely to receive a ‘Thank you’ from Katy and Rob who were married at Gosfield Hall, Essex, recently.

“Just wanted to write a quick note to say thank you.  Our Wedding was quite simply the most amazing day we could have wished for.  The photos are truly fantastic and we will look back at them fondly for years to come”

  • Pre-Wedding Meetings/Pictures

We do enjoy meeting our clients prior to their Wedding Day to discuss their details and take a pre-wedding picture. We get to know them better and it makes their Wedding Day even more special to us. Recently we met Cathy and Matt at Creeksea Place, and had an enjoyable time walking around the Venue, chatting about ideas for shots as well as taking some.  Sandra and Drew are getting married at The Fennes soon and we met up with them recently, although we kept pictures to the minimum as it was a bit chilly!Photo for Fennes Wedding

  • Wedding Photography for Katy & Rob at Gosfield Hall

The stunning Gosfield Hall was the setting for the Wedding of Katy and Rob on a beautifully sunny day.  Our day started with David joining the men as they were getting ready and I stayed with the girls for their bridal preparations.  Everyone was relaxed making for some lovely pictures.  After the Ceremony in the Long Gallery, Katy and Rob had time to enjoy mingling with their Guests during the Drinks Reception in between some family group photographs.  Following a short break we took some relaxed and fun pictures of the Bridal Party and a few pictures of Katy and Rob.  After the Wedding Breakfast and coverage of the Speeches, we went with Katy and Rob for an evening stroll around the grounds for a few shots before photographing the First Dance to end our day.Wedding Photo at Gosfield HallWedding Photo at Gosfield HallWedding Photo at Gosfield HallWedding Photo at Gosfield Hall

  • Jewish Weddings Talk

Last night Sandra & I were delighted to attend our regional photographer’s group and listen to our friend Dave Court talking about Jewish weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and Bat Mitzvahs. While we may never photograph a full Jewish wedding it is always useful to have an appreciation of other cultures and ceremonies. It was very interesting to see how how some of the traditions do cross into the many differing ceremonies we have photographed.

  • A winning night for David – but nothing to do with photography!

My outlet from ‘real life’ is playing darts once a week and last night was the Courtauld League Finals Night. My team won; The League; KO Cup; League Fours; Pairs League; KO Pairs; 180 Shield and I retained the Captains Cup.
