Smeetham Hall Barn Wedding Photography – Rosie & Ross

Rosie and Ross chose the wonderful Smeetham Hall Barn, Bulmer, as their venue for their Wedding. Our day started at The Mill Hotel, Sudbury, where Rosie, her Parents and Bridesmaids were getting ready. After taking a few getting ready pictures and pictures of Rosie’s Wedding Dress and Accessories, the girls got dressed.Sudbury Wedding Photographer Whilst this was happening we had found a good area for taking a few pictures of them. This was only a few steps from the room they were in. Luckily, we didn’t come into contact with any Guests going to the Wedding! It was a good spot, we worked quickly as we had to leave to get to Smeetham Hall Barn. Suffolk Wedding PhotographerArriving at Smeetham Hall Barn, Ross was greeting a few Guests.  Once we had got all the Groomsmen together we took a few pictures of them after which they resumed their duties. Rosie arrived and after seeing the Registrars, with the Bridesmaids leading the way walked into the Barn, accompanied by her Father.

    The Barn looked wonderful

The Barn looked wonderful, decorated by W.Flowers. After the Ceremony, everyone went outside and enjoyed the Drinks Reception.  The weather was lovely and Rosie and Ross were able to take full advantage off socialising and having pictures around the grounds.

Following the requested group pictures. Rosie and Ross resumed mingling with their Guests.

During the afternoon we took the Bridal Party to the lawn infant of the House for some pictures and whilst we were there we took Rosie & Ross’ ‘together’pictures.Smeetham Hall Barn Wedding Photography We rounded off the afternoon pictures with the the throwing of confetti. It was then time for the Wedding Breakfast and afterwards the Speeches. Straight after the Speeches, Rosie, Ross and ourselves headed away from the Guests to the fields at the back of Smeetham. Well worth the mini trek!Smeetham Hall Barn Wedding Photographer When we returned the Evening Guests had arrived. It was time for the cake cutting and the First Dance.  Capturing a few informal pictures after it was then time for us to say our ‘goodbyes’. A great day, and a nice couple.

Jo and Keiran got in touch with us in the Autumn last year to to do some Family Photography. It was a great delight to hear from them  two years after  we saw them last after photographing their Wedding at Fennes.  Now they are the proud Parents of a baby boy called Toby and wanted us to take some pictures of them as a family and some pictures of Toby on his own.   . We had a lovely time at their home taking these pictures for them as well as meeting Toby  for the first time, he was so good! We are looking forward to seeing them again soon.

Another local company booked us to produce head shots for a presentation. These were of the key staff members and on a plain background.

We used the Company’s Board Room to set up our mobile studio and spent just over an hour photographing 12 people

    Event Photography – Mayor’s Ball 2018

Event Photography is another one of the things we do that perhaps we don’t promote enough . It was a delight to cover the arrivals at this years Ball which was a Highland Dance. There was of course a Piper and Haggis as you would expect!.

All the guests got in the mood with either highland attire or a splash of tartan.

Little Havens Children’s Hospice and Witham Operatic were the main charities supported. It was a pleasure to add our contribution from the photograph sales.

We are always delighted to talk to any group organising a formal event at which we can help.

Wedding Photographer Prested Hall for Victoria & Greg

We were delighted to be theWedding Photographer Prested Hall for Victoria & Greg.  It was a dry bright day when we arrived at Prested Hall. Preparations were taking place upstairs in Prested Hall so that’s where we started.  Everything was running well and all the girls were very relaxed and enjoying what was going on. Without hurrying, there was time to take the details and accessories pictures in between capturing a variety of getting ready pictures.

Greg was in the Apartment getting ready and we captured a few pictures of his preparations as well. Once Greg and the guys were ready they made their way over to Prested Hall where they had a few pictures taken. Greg and his Groomsmen then greeted the Guests. Once the girls were ready and Tori’s Father had come into the room to see his daughter we got on with their pictures. It was nice to have a little extra time to take Tori’s Bridal portraits, she looked amazing! Wedding Photographer Prested Hall Finishing the pictures it was time for the Ceremony. The Guests were seated in the Garden Room ready for the Ceremony, whilst Greg stood waiting for Tori to enter the room. Recommended Wedding Photographer Prested Hall

    After the Ceremony

After the Ceremony Tori and Greg together with their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception. A short time later we got on with the requested family pictures. The sun was out whilst we took the pictures but as we were coming to the finish with the group pictures, dark clouds appeared! The Guests made their way into Prested Hall  as it started to rain, but Tori, Greg and ourselves decided to head over to the Gazebo.  Under cover we took a few of Tori and Greg’s together pictures, David got a touch wet! Essex Wedding Photographer Prested HallTori and Greg then returned to their Guests until the Wedding Breakfast. The Marquee was where the Wedding Breakfast was held and after the meal we captured the moments of the Speeches. Once the Speeches were completed there was a break before the start of the evening celebrations.

    The Evening

During this time, Tori, Greg and ourselves went off for a short while to take some more pictures of them and the sunset. The rain had stopped, it was a pleasant evening and we made the most of the time.

On our return, the evening Guests had arrived and after a short while Tori and Greg cut their Wedding Cake. Their First Dance was next and afterwards we took a few informal pictures of the evening celebrations.  Our last pictures of the night were the Sparklers’ shots. Tori and Greg’s Wedding Day was a memorable day, they are a wonderful couple! Congratulations!

It was nice to see Natalie and Craig again this time for Family Photography. They were married at Fennes in 2016 and now they have a son called Finley.  We got together with them and members of Natalie’s family for some family pictures at Natalie’s Parents’ house. Natalie and Craig wanted a selection of different group pictures including pictures with the little ones. It all worked well and we had an enjoyable time taking them.

Fennes Wedding Photography for Debi & Rob

Debi and Rob booked us for Fennes Wedding Photography for their early autumn Wedding. After meeting everyone in the Bridal Room, we got on with taking pictures of the details and accessories. In between we made sure we captured the getting ready pictures of both Debi and Rob. David was with the men and once they were dressed they had some pictures taken outside as it was still dry.

    A wedding Disaster!

The girls were nearly dressed but unfortunately the zip broke in the one of the Bridesmaids’ dresses! Not to worry, the only way to solve the problem was to sew the zip together! My job today, no problem! It was at this moment David returned! Good timing! David just carried on with the photography! Debi  was unaware of what was going on, which was fine by all of us! By the time Debi and the rest of the Bridesmaids were ready, the job was completed! Pictures taken and then it was time for Debi to go downstairs for the Ceremony. The plan was to have an Outdoors Ceremony but the weather put paid to that! The Guests were seated in the Pavilion and Debi came downstairs and went to the Pavilion for the Ceremony.   Fennes Recommended Wedding Photographer

    The Rain Stopped

A break in the rain allowed us all to go outside for the everybody shot before it started again. We got on with taking a few requested pictures using the rooms in the house during the Drinks Reception and we were able to use the steps outside for a few more. The rain did ease and we were able to go outside later on, using the Gazebo and the bridge. Fennes Wedding PhotographyDuring the rest of the afternoon we captured some informal pictures before the Guests threw confetti over Debi and Rob. The rain stopped again during the Wedding Breakfast, so in between courses we stepped outside with Debi and Rob for a few pictures. Fennes Wedding Photography

    A wedding Sunset

After the Wedding Breakfast as there was time for a few more pictures of Debi and Rob around the House and as the the sun was setting, a lovely sky, both in the lane and on the bridge! Not to be missed!Recommended Wedding Photographer Fennes Evening Guests were arriving as we returned so the Wedding Cake was cut and Debi and Rob had their First Dance. Later on we said our goodbyes. A great day! Thanks to Sharon of Fennes for helping the day to go like clockwork, despite the zip mishap which held together right through the evening!

Start Smiling Dental Practice in Ingatestone, Essex, appointed us for their Business web site photography.

The only day that everything could come together without interfering with the running of the practice was a Sunday morning – no bother for us!.

The brief was for corporate headshots, groups, pictures of the Practice, local views and some group pictures. One of the requests was for some pictures in a local park or churchyard but on the way they all walked on a the Zebra Crossing and the ‘Beatles Abbey Road’ picture just sprang to mind, good job it was Sunday and fairly quiet on the road!!

A great set of people to work with.

    Guild Of Photographers Awards

One of the highlights of judging for the Guild Of Photographers monthly competition, is to attend the annual Awards Ceremony. This year it was held at Crewe Hall Hotel where Sandra and I spent a delightful weekend. Part of the weekend involved judging Qualification Panels, the print competition/critique. I also gave a short talk on cropping, shading and removing distractions from photographs to around 50 photographers.  Of course the highlight of the weekend is the Black Tie Awards dinner and presentations. The Guild has some fantastic photographers from the whole spectrum of genres which is always very inspiring!
