We met Emma and Jodie one evening at Hylands for their pre-wedding photography. Emma and Jody are getting married at Three Rivers Golf and Country Club, Cold Norton.

Smeetham Hall Barn Wedding photography, Nicola & Aaron
We were delighted to be asked to be the Wedding Photographers for Nicola and Aaron at Smeetham Hall Barn, Bulmer. We have met Nicola’s family before when we were the Wedding Photographers for Louise (Nicola’s sister) and Kieran’s Wedding in 2010 and at other Weddings where they have kindly recommended us. Arriving at Nicola’s Parents’ home everything was running smoothly and after taking a few photographs, it was time for us to make the journey to Smeetham Hall Barn. Meeting with Aaron straight away when we got there enabled us to take a few pictures of him before he was required elsewhere! The Civil Ceremony was held in the Barn. Afterwards as the weather was good, the Guests followed Nicola and Aaron outside and enjoyed an ice-cream! During the afternoon, allowing Nicola and Aaron time with their Guests, some fun Bridal Party pictures were taken by the Lake. Following the Wedding Breakfast and Speeches, everybody socialised in the Courtyard and around the Barn making for some nice relaxed images. It was as this time we spoke with Laura and Chris whose Wedding we photographed at Leez Priory and ask about all their family. With the sun going down, we took a couple of pictures of Nicola and Aaron before it was time for their First Dance and our time to leave.

Crabbs Barn Wedding Photography – Amy & George
Amy arrived at Crabbs Barn, Kelvedon, for her Wedding with her hair and make-up done except for the finishing touches. Having the use of the Bridal Suite to complete her getting ready and the pictures worked well. With Accessories pictures and last minute getting ready pictures taken, there was time for a few family pictures. As the weather was good we stepped outside and had enough time to complete these pictures before it was time for the Civil Ceremony. Following the Ceremony Amy, George and their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception in the grounds of Crabbs Barn. Music was provided by Sister Sax. As Amy and George wanted Wedding Photography coverage of their Wedding up until the Wedding Breakfast, it wasn’t long before family groups were organised as well as the fun shots of the Bridal Party. After Amy and George had a little while with their Guests we took them for a short walk around the gardens of Crabbs Barn. They were also happy to venture into the lane and a visit to the Cornfield opposite, which achieved some nice pictures. Upon their return to the Barn, it was time for the Wedding Breakfast time for us to leave them to enjoy the rest of the day.

Pre-Wedding Photography – Katherine & Matt
It was nice to see Matt and again, although we had seen them at Nicola and Kris’s Wedding at Crabbs Barn in June. Katherine and Matt are getting married at Haughley Park Barn later in September.

Crabbs Barn Wedding Photography – Donna & Lee
Donna and Lee chose the popular Wedding Venue, Crabbs Barn, for their Wedding. A relaxed late afternoon Wedding was what they wanted, which they had with amazing weather as well! After taking a few pictures of Donna and Lee individually, it was time for the Civil Ceremony which was held in the barn. The Drinks Reception in the lovely grounds. We took a few requested family group pictures in between capturing the informal moments of their special day. Managing to squeeze a little time away from their Guests, Donna and Lee had their together pictures taken in the lane and field before returning. Not wanting the formal style of Wedding Breakfast, Donna and Lee chose to have a buffet, which worked well. It was lovely to see Rebecca, who is Lee’s sister, and Gavin again, as we took their Wedding Photographs in 2005 also at Crabbs Barn! When we were happy we had everything captured we left Donna and Lee to continue the celebrations.

Wedding Photography Parklands, Quendon Hall – Katharine & Phil
- It was a beautiful day when we arrived at Parklands, Quendon Hall, to do the Wedding Photography for Katharine and Phil, in fact it proved to be the hottest day of the year so far! The girls were getting ready and all was going well and when Katharine’s hair and make-up was finished we transferred to the Red room for her portraits. Meanwhile, Phil was greeting the Wedding Guests downstairs and in between his duties we took a few pictures of him and his Groomsmen. After taking some pictures of Katharine, and the Guests were all seated for the outdoor Wedding Ceremony, Katharine made her entrance. Following the Ceremony, Katharine and Phil led their Guests around the front of Parklands for the Drinks Reception. Finding shelter from the blazing sun for a few family group pictures was our task at that moment! A while later we took Katharine and Phil for a very short walk for their together pictures before the Wedding Breakfast in the Marquee. After the Speeches, and whilst the Wedding Guests were socialising, Katharine, Phil and ourselves left them to take advantage of the evening sunshine around this stunning Wedding Venue, capturing some lovely photographs. Katharine and Phil then danced their First Dance with Katharine’s Dad being a member of the Band.

Happy New Year!
As with so many people we are starting the New Year with a resolution; to catch up with our blog posts! – We ended up being so busy with wedding photography and our new web site at the end of last year, that we have become very behind. Sorry if you have been waiting to read a post of your wedding! Catching up will most probably be more pictures and less words.
We look forward to a great 2014 photographing weddings from Scotland to Crete together with our usual more local weddings Essex, Suffolk and Kent.

Review of the Year 2013 for our Professional Photography
Firstly a big thank you to all our professional photography clients from 2013. We have again met some wonderful people which makes it all worthwhile. Weddings photographed 56; a trip to WPPI convention in Las Vegas with another Accolade of Excellence; photography in the House of Commons for St Francis Hospice, are just some of the highlights, although being awarded a Fellowship in Wedding Photography from the BIPP has to be the pinnacle. Whilst the Fellowship was awarded in my name it would not have happened without the support from Sandra.
Our portraits have become better in 2013, targeting home and enviornmental rather than bland studio shots but there is still a way to go to achieve where we wish to be.
It has been good being part of the committee for the London & Essex Professional Photography Group. Good friends, good contacts, good education and a couple of great social events!
