A Happy New Year to all our wonderful clients, past, present and future.
David & Sandra
It was a hot day for Julia and David’s Wedding Day at Layer Marney Tower, Layer-de-la-Haye. A late afternoon summer Wedding was what Julia and David chose. We arrived before Julia and David at Layer Marney and as the Wedding Guests arrived we took a few informal pictures. Julia and David arrived together and had a few requested pictures taken before it was time for them to see the Registrars.
Julia and David then made their way into the Corsellis Room with their Flowergirl and Pageboys and greeted the Guests as they made their way to their seats. The Ceremony followed then Julia and David went for a drive together as their Guests enjoyed the Drinks Reception outside in the grounds. Returning from their drive, Julia and David walked up towards the Tower and socialised with their Guests. Managing our time well we took various requested pictures as well as capturing a flavour of the day.
Before the Wedding Breakfast we took Julia and David for a quick walk around the grounds for a few pictures of them together, including a couple of pictures in the Barn. Pictures with the cake followed before the children enjoyed throwing confetti over Julia and David on the stairs. With time upon us it was time for the Wedding Breakfast in the Long Gallery and time for us to say goodbye.
Sandra & I would like to wish all our clients past, present and future, a Merry Christmas.
Please feel free to contact us via the Contact Form or by e-mail although as you can imagine, our response may be a little slower at this time of year!

Thanks to our friend Mark Ashworth for providing the picture taken at the Ipswich Photographer’s Christmas Lunch at Hintlesham Hall.
We were pleased to be asked to photograph Danielle and John’s Wedding at the wonderful Fennes. After initially booking us to photograph their Wedding next year, they decided to take advantage of an opportunity of booking the Fennes Estate for their Wedding this year. Danielle was getting ready at Fennes, helped by her Bridesmaids and Mum, so we captured the moments as they happened. When John arrived, we took a few pictures of him with his Groomsmen outside. Once these were taken John greeted the Guests whilst some pictures of Danielle were taken as she was now ready. After everybody was seated in the Pavilion, Danielle came down the stairs to meet with the Registrars. She then made her way down to the Pavilion for the Civil Ceremony.
The forecasted rain arrived during the Ceremony so the Guests mingled in the rooms at the front of Fennes whilst we took some pictures in the Gold Room.
With the requested pictures taken, on cue the rain stopped and we all went outside. After the ‘everybody’ picture we took Danielle and John over to Bridge for a few pictures of them together. As the Guests were now outside the Red Room was free and we took a few more pictures in there.
After managing to squeeze in some fun bridal party and confetti shots, it was time for the Wedding Breakfast. The Speeches followed and then it was soon time for the evening reception. With some colour in the sky, Danielle and John ended up with some evening pictures before their First Dance. Happy with our coverage we took our leave.
It was a lovely day and it was nice to see Victoria and Antony again, whose Wedding we photographed in September 2014 at Crabbs Barn. Congratulations Danielle and John!
As always it was a lovely to see Lottie, Rich and their two children, Matilda and Imogen to create some more Environmental Family Portraits.
We photographed Lottie and Rich’s Wedding at Burgh Island, Devon, in 2009. Since they have had a family we have taken photographs of them at various times. It was such a lovely morning, Matilda and Imogen were playing in the garden, having fun, with their Parents. Karen and Geoff, their Grandparents were joining in as well! During the time we were there we had the opportunity of taking some relaxed informal pictures of the two girls, capturing their personalities. A morning to remember!
The sun was shining for Jaimey and Mehmet’s Wedding day at Fennes. We arrived at Fennes just before Mehmet arrived with his Groomsmen. They made their way into the Library to finish getting ready. Jaimey was upstairs having her hair done and the room was a hive of activity! Working around their preparations I got on with photographing the details and accessories, whilst David was downstairs with the men capturing their preparations. David couldn’t leave the men as a surprise was in store for Mehmet! Unbeknown to Mehmet, Jaimey had arranged for a Ferrari to arrive at Fennes and take him to St Mary’s Church, Bocking for the Church service. It wasn’t long before the Ferrari arrived and Memhmet’s Best Man persuaded Mehmet to go to the front of the house . How surprised Mehmet was! Grinning from ear to ear, Mehmet just stared at the Ferrarri before climbing in to have some pictures taken.
Jaimey was delighted her surprise had worked and enjoyed the feedback from the Bridesmaids and a few Guests who had watched the drama unfolding. Mehmet was then chauffeured to St Mary’s Church. Time was racing by and with so many people getting ready we decided that I would go to the Church whilst David stayed behind capturing what was happening. After meeting the men at the Church and capturing some pictures of the Guests as well as Mehmet, it wasn’t long before Jaimey arrived. We captured the moments as they happened as they all made their way into the Church.
After the Church service we took a few family pictures outside the Church before the Guests made their way down to the gate for the confetti pictures. Before leaving the Church we took a couple pictures of Jaimey and Mehmet with the car before they left for the Reception. As we were back at Fennes with Jaimey and Mehmet well before their Guests, we went to take some pictures on the bridge and around the grounds. Returning to the House we caught up on a few bridal shots of Jaimey that we didn’t get earlier in the Gold Room.
As the Guests arrived they enjoyed the Drinks Reception in the gardens. The Wedding Breakfast was held in the Pavilion and was followed by the Speeches. With the main Speeches delivered a few of Jaimey and Mehmet’s relatives and friends said a few words. It was a beautiful evening and afterwards Guests went outside and socialised. Using the superb grounds we took some relaxed bridal party pictures before it was time for the First Dance. Finishing Jaimey and Mehmet’s coverage of their special day a nice sunset picture.
Thank you so much Sue (Fennes Front of house) for your help, much appreciated as always!
Come and visit us at Fennes Open Day, tomorrow for a friendly chat about your Wedding and to view our Wedding photography.
One of the interesting comments we have received recently, is how ‘other photographers’ were supposedly offering better price and products …… this was without the potential client even coming to see what our products are like or asking about what is included! While we can not be considered to offer the cheapest packages around, we do try to offer realistic packages that don’t include too many nasty cost surprises after the wedding! Do please come and chat, we are not ‘pressure sales’ people!
Laura and Mark’s Wedding in Cambridge was on a beautiful day. It was a bright and early start for our journey to Laura’s Parents’ home where the Bridal preparations were taking place. On arrival, whilst Laura, her Parents, Sisters and her Niece and Nephew were getting ready, we busied ourselves with taking pictures of the Laura’s Wedding Dress and Accessories. In between we captured the informal moments and atmosphere of the morning. Once her hair and make-up was finished, Laura put on her Wedding Dress, the time was going very quickly! What a picture! Laura looked stunning! Everybody else looked lovely too! After a few pictures we left them to travel to St John the Evangelist Church, Cambridge for the Church service.
Mark was there with his Best Man, Usher and his Parents, so we took a few pictures before they disappeared into the beautiful Church. Laura arrived and after being joined by her Mum and the Bridesmaids we took a few pictures of them before it was time for the service. Imogen, Laura’s niece and the Flowergirl played her part very well, sprinkling the rose petals down the aisle as Laura took her Mum’s arm and walked down the aisle. Extra special moments for Laura marrying in this Church, this was the church where her Grandma was married.
Some lovely images were taken during the service and afterwards the Guests followed Laura and Mark outside for a few family pictures. The sun was shining, it was extremely warm but luckily we were able to find some shade. Deciding to make the most of our area outside the Church we got on with the requested family groups followed by a couple of Bridal party pictures. Confetti was thrown by their Guests as they left the Church for the Reception. DoubleTree Hilton Hotel was the chosen Wedding Venue for Laura and Mark. We arrived moments after Laura and Mark arrived at the Hotel, they were just waiting for their chauffeured ride on a punt down the river. With their glasses of champagne they set off.
As their Guests arrived, they enjoyed the Drinks Reception whilst watching the comings and goings on the River. When Laura and Mark returned from their ride, we managed to take a few pictures of them before they were welcomed by their Guests and enjoyed some social time. The Wedding Breakfast was served shortly after and the Speeches and cake cutting followed. Whilst the room was being prepared for the evening celebrations, Laura and Mark’s evening Guests arrived. The final part of our coverage of Mark and Laura’s Wedding was First Dance pictures, some night pictures and to round the day off some brilliant sparkler pictures.
A fantastic day! Thank you to Laura and Mark for wanting the pictures and it was lovely to meet Laura’s family again.
“we received them- they are amazing i cried my eyes out! as did my family!”
Thankfully these are the type of tears we want, tears of joy!! We hear so many stories of Brides who used inexperienced or ‘budget’ photographers and didn’t get the happy memories of their big day. That’s not to say that we are perfect! However, with approaching 2000 weddings of experience there is pretty good chance of us providing you with the service you expect!
All the sample pictures on this site were taken by either myself or Sandra and all at real live weddings. All our sample albums are from individual weddings, not just a collection of the best pictures over a period. Photographing a couple dressed in wedding attire but not on a wedding day, can result in some fantastic pictures, they are however, not wedding pictures! Do check with your intended photographer exactly what you are looking at. How much experience have they got photographing weddings?
Sue and Mark’s home was where we started our coverage of their Wedding. We took the details and accessory shots together with a few getting ready picture, before they were all dressed.
Not long after we left to go to Prested Hall, Feering. Mark was there with his son, Finley and Best Man, Ian, so before they got busy with greeting the Guests we took a few pictures of them. Sue arrived early at Prested Hall with her sons, Ben and Jack. Making the most of the time and nice weather,we took a few pictures in and outside the Dingle. When it was time they walked over to Prested Hall. After seeing the Registrars, Sue, escorted by her sons made her way into the Orangery and down the aisle for the Ceremony. Once the formalities were completed Sue and Mark walked out of the Orangery and into the Lounge area. After getting a drink, people went outside. During the afternoon we took a few requested family group pictures, confetti and informal pictures. Allowing time for Sue and Mark to speak to their Guests and enjoy the Drinks Reception, we still had time to take them off for a short walk around the grounds.
After taking some relaxed and pictures of the children it was time for the Wedding Breakfast.
Sue and Mark chose to have their Speeches after the main course, which we were on hand to cover. After the finish of the Wedding Breakfast, the Guests had time to wander around the grounds or just relax and catch up with each other over coffee. The Orangery had been transformed for the the evening’s entertainment. Sue and Mark’s evening Guests had arrived so after the cake cutting, they had their First Dance together.
Not having a sunset to finish their day, we made sure of a few night pictures for them. A lovely day and once again it’s great to be a Prested Hall Wedding Photographer!
