Here is a lovely Wedding Photographer Testimonial email we received. The wedding was at Leez Priory just before the Lockdown :-
“Dear David & Sandra, thank you for our beautiful wedding photo book which we received this week. We will cherish it for the rest of our days and love that it tells the story of our special day from the beginning to end. I’m also amazed we received our photo book as soon as we did given the current global situation.
We feel certain we made the right choice of photographers. You both worked incredibly hard all day and did so in a way which was unobtrusive to us and our guests. Somehow you even managed to get photos of our 4 year old smiling… Not easy given he hates having his photo taken… I think David pretending he was going to fall off his ladder helped! Plus Sandra’s skills with little people.
We will always feel incredibly grateful we got to get married at all and know that had our wedding, which was on 7th March 2020, been 1 or 2 weeks later, it would’ve been cancelled.
Thank you David & Sandra, from Anna, Leon, Theo & our growing baby bump.x”
Wishing the happy family all the best for the future especially for the arrival of “bump”.
We look forward to working at Leez Priory (and other venues!) once the wedding world starts again!
This was our first job of Wedding Photography The Compasses Pattiswick. We have turned away all previous enquires due to other bookings! Nice to finally work there!
Late Afternoon Winter Wedding
Zoe and Rob wanted coverage of their late afternoon Wedding up until the Wedding Breakfast. We arrived at the Compasses in the early afternoon. It was a cold but a bright dry day. It was great to see Paul, the Manager, who we know very well from his time at Crabbs Barn.
Zoe and Rob were there together with their family in the Bridal Room when we arrived. We captured a few informal pictures. Rob and George, their son, were ready so we took a some portraits of them. Delilah, their Daughter joined them for some as well. Once Zoe was dressed we were able to take a few Bridal shots of her. With the guests now arriving it was time to capture a few pictures of them for Zoe & Rob to see what they missed.
Wedding Ceremony at The Compasses
The Ceremony Room looked lovely with the sun streaming in through the windows. It was soon time for the Ceremony. The Guests took their seats. Rob and Delilah were the first to lead the way into the room, followed by Zoe and George. This was such a lovely entrance. A nice Ceremony, very emotional.
Shortly after the ceremony we persuaded all he guests to go outside for a large group picture. Done in double quick time due to the cold. A big thank you to everyone!
The Guests went back inside to warm up but Zoe and Rob wanted a couple of pictures outside. It was beginning to get dark and the sun was going down and we managed to get a few lovely pictures of the happy couple.
Zoe and Rob had time to socialise with their Guests during the rest of the afternoon.
Candid Wedding Photography
A few small group pictures were taken as well as informal pictures during the Drinks Reception, together with a couple more pictures of Zoe and Rob.
The informal pictures showed how this was a very relaxed Wedding with many families coming together to celebrate Zoe and Rob’s Wedding. Zoe and Rob posed for a cake picture before it was time for the Wedding Breakfast. We said our ‘goodbyes’ when Zoe and Rob were seated at the table for the meal. A great day of Wedding Photography The Compasses Pattiswick for Zoe & Rob.
It was lovely to see Jo again with her sons, Toby and Dylan. Jo wanted some up to date chlidren’s pictures. Arranging a convenient time we went over to her house. Spending time with families makes all the difference when we are asked to take pictures.
When we arrived Toby was not at all pleased to see us, whereas Dylan was fine. It was role reversal by the time we had finished, Toby wanted us to stay and Dylan was tired! So pleased we were able to provide some lovely pictures to add to their collection. Lovely catching up with Jo and her family as well.
Our next job was Wedding Photography at Fennes for Jennifer & Joe’s Civil Ceremony in the Autumn last year.
Wedding Preparations
The girls were getting ready upstairs at Fennes when we arrived so after saying ‘hello’ we got on with taking some accessory pictures including Jen’s Wedding Dress.
The guys were downstairs just finishing off their preparations. Once they were ready they went outside for some pictures. Following these pictures, Wedding Guests were arriving so the men went off to greet them.
One of the great things about Fennes is having the all the rooms available. Today as the Guests arrived they made use of them all. The Bridesmaids were dressed and Jennifer was getting into her dress. Some nice moments when the Bridesmaids saw Jen in her Wedding dress.
As the Guests were making their way into the Pavilion for the Ceremony we got on with taking some Bridal portraits of Jen and some pictures with the Bridesmaids. Wedding Ceremony
Fennes Wedding Ceremony
Jen’s Father was waiting at the bottom of the stairs so when the time was right, Jen went downstairs. Nice moments. The Bridesmaids led the way into the Pavilion for the Ceremony.
Following the Ceremony the Guests followed Jen and Joe to the front of Fennes.
As the weather was ok, dry and a little windy, the Guests went outside whilst Jen and Joe had a few minutes to themselves in the Gold Room. This allowed us time arrange the ‘everybody’ group. Everyone was outside so it was decided to get on and take the requested family pictures.
Guests then enjoyed the Drinks Reception whilst we carried on with other pictures around. A little while later we took Jen and Joe onto Fennes Bridge for some pictures followed by a short walk around the grounds.
Before the Wedding Breakfast it was time for ‘bubbles’ in the Gold Room. Everybody enjoyed this with us capturing some nice reaction pictures.
Wedding Breakfast
The Wedding Breakfast took place in the Pavilion and this was followed by the Speeches.
There is generally time after the Wedding Breakfast for some evening pictures and today was no exception. It was dark so we took a few pictures inside Fennes including the ‘heart’ shot.
The Band was setting up in the Fennes Pavilion for the evening’s entertainment as we were doing this. The Evening Guests arrived and joined in the celebrations. After cutting their Wedding Cake, Jen and Joe took to the dance floor for their First Dance.
During the evening we took a few pictures and waited for Jen’s Dad to join the Band for his part. Capturing this and a couple of other bits, we finished our coverage of Jen and Joe’s Wedding. Another good Day of Wedding Photography at Fennes. Congratulations Jen and Joe!
Jeanette and Ben used one of our Gift Vouchers to enable them to have Family Photography of their children.
Mobile Studio
We went to their home one morning in September last year to take these pictures. Indoor pictures were the order of the day as their children, Joseph and Samuel were young. We set up a background, and as usual there is no time limit when we have these sessions, so we can build up a rapport with the children. The family had not had the best night’s sleep so we had our fingers crossed that we would get some pictures. In fact, all was fine, Mummy and Daddy joined their children for a few pictures as well. A good morning of Family Photography!
The next job was Wedding Photography at Fennes for Joan & Mark. The wonderful Fennes was the venue for this early Autumn Wedding.
Bride’s Prep
We arrived at Fennes and made our way up to the Bridal Room where Joan was getting ready. There was a lot going on! Joan and Mark’s daughters were there with their children. Joan is a very relaxed lady and was just enjoying the merriment and lively atmosphere. Joan had said to us at the pre-wedding meeting, what will be will be! Making sure we took a few pictures of Joan’s Wedding Dress and accessories, we captured lots of informal and fun pictures.
Groom’s Prep
David went off to find Mark, who was with his Best Man, Martin. It was a greyish day outside with rain in the air so David took a couple of pictures of them on the steps outside the House. Mark and Martin then greeted the Wedding Guests who were arriving and socialising in the House. Upstairs, Joan was in the final stages of getting dressed. Joan’s Grandsons were in their suits and looked very handsome! Once Joan was ready, it was nice to take pictures of them altogether.
Ceremony in the Pavilion
Meanwhile, the Guests made their way to the Pavilion for the Ceremony. Joan and Mark’s two dogs were going to be putting in a surprise appearance today! So, when all was quiet in the House, David went into the Red Room to take a couple of pictures of them before their task of the day! Everyone came downstairs, Mark was waiting for Joan at the bottom of the stairs and they saw the Registrars together. After this it was all ready to go, the Pageboys were the first entering the Pavilion full of smiles. Lauren, who was Bridesmaid followed, with the little ones, before Joan and Mark followed.
Special Ring Delivery
When the time came for the exchanging of rings the doors opened and the dogs made their entrance! Would this work! It sure did! The dogs were so excited, but they delivered the rings, had their pictures taken, they were brilliant!
Once the Ceremony was completed, Joan and Mark danced down the aisle before towards the front of Fennes. Unfortunately it was raining outside so everybody had to stay in. Plenty of space though so no problem! We used the Gold Room later for some requested family pictures, always keeping an eye on the weather. It did break, the children were first out, followed by others. We took this break to take some pictures of Joan and Mark on the Bridge but kept to the hard standing for a variety of pictures. Joan and Mark had lots of time to spend with their Guests during the rest of the afternoon.
Meal Time
Whilst the Guests later were taking their seats for the Wedding Breakfast, Joan and Mark provided us with fun and laughter in the corridor, which of course we captured.Joan and Mark chose to have the Speeches before the serving of the meal. Some great reactions.
The Three Waiters sing at Fennes
As a surprise to their Guests, Joan and Mark had arranged for the Singing Waiters to make an appearance during the Wedding Breakfast. This went down a treat! So much laughter and fun, making great pictures. After the Wedding Breakfast there was time to take a few more pictures of Joan and Mark around Fennes.
Later they cut their Wedding Cake and took to the dance floor for their First Dance. After capturing a flavour of the evening, it was time for us to depart. A lovely Wedding Day of Wedding Photography at Fennes! A great relaxed couple to work with, thank you Joan and Mark.
It was lovely to see Nathan and Alison again to take some Outdoor Family Portraits. We arranged to meet at Pods Wood, Tiptree, one afternoon. It was a nice day and going for an enjoyable walk around the wood with Elodie and Rupert.
Talking was constant as we caught up with all the goings on within the family, whilst taking pictures as well. Environmental shoots are great, relaxing, and we always end up with a nice selection of pictures. Today was no exception. Looking forward to next time.
It was great to be back for Fennes Wedding Photography for Lynne and Gerry. The sun was shining when we arrived at Fennes on the morning of their Wedding.
Lynne and Gerry chose to have a Church Ceremony at the lovely St Mary’s Church, Bocking, Both Lynne and Gerry were getting ready at Fennes before the Ceremony so we were there to capture the goings on. All preparations were running smoothly. This allowed us time to take a few formal pictures as well of Gerry with his Groomsmen and some Bridal portraits of Lynne later on.
Gerry left for the Church immediately after we had taken his pictures and the Horse and Carriage arrived at the front of Fennes. Gerry had no idea this was the mode of transport for Lynne to get to the Church and for their return to Fennes later. Once we had taken Lynne’s pictures, off she went in the Horse and Carriage accompanied by her Mother and Father. We had time at the Church for a few informal pictures before Lynne arrived.
The Ceremony
Walking up the path, Lynne took her Father’s arm and after speaking with the Vicar went into the Church. Gerry’s three daughters delivered some nice readings during the service. Once the formalities of the Ceremony were over, Lynne and Gerry walked down the aisle and out of the Church.
It was a bright, dry day but slightly windy day for the pictures taken at the Church. After a few requested pictures the Guests lined the path towards the gate. Usually, the Guests throw confetti over the happy couple as they leave but today it was not so. The confetti had been left at Fennes, so instead they just cheered and clapped Lynne and Gerry as they exited the Church. A surprise to everyone was the Horse and Carriage!
Fennes Wedding Reception
It was a lovely relaxed afternoon spent at Fennes with the Drinks Reception being held outside and lots of socialising going on.
Occasionally in the afternoon this was interrupted by us taking a few other pictures including pictures of Lynee and Gerry on the bridge. Before the start of the Wedding Breakfast petals were thrown over Lynne and Gerry in the corridor before entering the Pavilion. Speeches were after the meal.
Sunset!
There was a nice sunset so very quickly we were able to take Lynne and Gerry for this. The evening celebrations then began.
Evening Guests arrived and joined in with the other Guests as Lynne and Gerry cut their Wedding cake. They then took to the dance floor for their First Dance. Dancing continued during the evening but it was soon time for us to say our goodbyes. A wonderful day of Fennes Wedding Photography. Congratulations to Lynne and Gerry.
We were the Fennes Wedding Photographers for Lisa and Nathan’s Wedding.
Bridal Preparations
Arriving at Fennes we made our way upstairs to see Lisa. Lots of preparations were taking place so it was full on. We took pictures of Lisa’s Wedding Dress and Accessories in the John Dorwood Suite, as there was more room to move around and it was cooler to work in. It was easy to go between the rooms as and when it was necessary.
The Men
Nathan was getting ready at Fennes so David went off to find him and the Groomsmen. Once they were ready they had some pictures taken outside in the grounds.
Once the finishing touches were applied for the make-up and hair the Bridesmaids got changed into their Bridesmaid Dresses. Lisa went to put on her Wedding Dress, assisted by her Mother. Lisa wanted to surprise her Bridesmaids with the ‘big reveal’. We took a few Bridal Portraits of Lisa before we moved back to the Bridal Changing Room. Some nice ‘moment’ pictures when this happened. After taking a few pictures of them it was time to go! Lisa’s Father was waiting at the bottom of the stairs and as usual this made a lovely picture.
Outdoor Ceremony
Once it was time, the Bridesmaids led the way across the grass to the Gazebo. It was a beautiful day, the Gazebo looked lovely, decorated with many flowers and as they all walked out it was a wonderful picture. After the Ceremony, everyone enjoyed the Drinks Reception.
Family Pictures
Lisa and Nathan wanted some family pictures which we did after they had time to socialise with their Guests. Fennes bridge, of course, was used for some of their pictures later on, finishing with a few minutes around the grounds. A greeting line was held before Lisa and Nathan entered the Pavilion for the Wedding Breakfast. The Speeches followed and then Lisa and Nathan cut their Wedding Cake.
Evening Fun
It was such a lovely evening, the outside was popular with many Guests. Lisa and Nathan wanted a few more ‘fun’ pictures and it was the right time to do these. Sunset beckoned a little later. Lisa and Nathan had time to mingle with their Guests after this before their First Dance. It was not long after this we said our ‘goodbyes’. The end to another day being Fennes Wedding Photographers.
